I ended up breaking the plastic clip on the right side of the filter plate using a flathead screwdriver. If I were to do it again. I might try the hanger to unlatch it. It still went back in fairly secure feeling with just the left clip.

You don’t have to take out any screws. And it was a 5.5 mm that you don’t have to remove. Insert a screwdriver into holes in filter access cover on each side and push to inside Cover comes right off.

I didn't think of trying that. I guess it just flexes the plastic housing enough that it pops out.

With such a tight space to work in not everybody's hands can move in there freely. Using the screw driver to unlatch the cabin air filter cover took out all the hassle. No screws removed
