Death Guard vehicles count as stationary even when moving flat out, so with the Armoured Spearhead you can take a boatload of vehicles that all zoom around at top speed and still shoot at full BS
I think drop pod assault ultramarines is underrated, it's pretty easy to just have a bs5 army by playing around the pods. It's still support squads and dreadnoughts, but they actually get where they are trying to go on turn one. Bs5 volkites in rage on turn one against nonmarine armies, bs5 meltaguns in the tank line, plasmaguns can actually rapidfire into dreadnoughts, dreadnoughts can take melta guns and actually have them in range of stuff for the whole game, ect. Not having heavy support squads obviously sucks, but you do actually get to use meltaguns propperly in exchange. Suzerain don't like deepstriking, but they can do it cheaply in a normal pod unlike terminators in other legions if they wanted to bring a melee unit with this rite.
Actually an amazing shout for ultras here, I’d not thought of the interplay with their trait! Genuinely an idea that’ll stick with me…I’ve been wanting to do ultras (they’re the bad guys in our events series so I want them represented on the channel)
@@BearfootMiniatures I've been really wanting to start them as my second army after IW. They have so many weird little things they can do. It's kind of fascinating to play around with theory crafting them!
I don’t understand the confusion of the interceptor. Pg 199 clearly states after the pods arrive you must disembark and interceptor can be made against either the units deployed via drop pod assault or a unit which has disembarked from said units. That being said I think you’ve got it backwards for the termites. They have no such stipulation on disembarkation and I think it’s very clear that you can move the termite and disembark after the intercept window has passed.
Just a confusion on trying to store them all tbh I think mate, we went through every rite on the same day so think this is one of the ones we’ve made a mistake on (I’m imagining there’ll be something else aswell)
I have 4 drills, i have to build them yet.. will it be good? Probably not lol.. will it be super cool to pop up and mess up my opponent's nicely made fireing lines? Hell yes lol
Angels Wrath: a great Row if your in a group that uses rules limiting intercept/shooting reactions, ok its decent, not great. We allow one shooting reaction(including the augury scanners free one) per unit per turn. So they only get one chance and if its night they are even better. I love the Hidden transports rule idea. Where is the ruling on only being able to intercept the drop pods if the models dont move? Thats a new one.
That’d be a great compromise I think for the shooting reactions, or even just one reaction per unit per turn wouldn’t be too bad even imo The drop is pod bit is a misremembered mistake in the vid sadly (we did every RoW in the one day, was thinking along the lines of subterranean assault and it’s wierd deployment and then ability to move method
For the anegls wrath it really depends if you consider the fact that you can get out of transport when deep striking all the s.eagles by going out of the access points if si you can consider the s.eagles as kharybdis and assault ouf of it in T1
I think they would need Assault Vehicle, wouldn't they? Do they have that? I'm tempted by this Rite for my Viking Space Wolves, I'd be curious to make it work
I just think it’s then a little expensive though your right to some armies that t1 charge will be massive may have to see what flyers I can pull together to test it out I’d like to like it, visuals wise I love it (o actually have 8 marine flyers inc a thawk) I just don’t think it’s brilliant game wise
They do! So the t1 assault could really work For wolves I’d deffo think along the lines of talking heavy units so you get the +1WS as the run and charge will be less use to you (you’ll already be there!
I think Angels Wrath is pretty good. I think you are hard on it. It is a gamble though for sure! The flyers are only there to get something on the board turn on. Then the rest comes down on wings of fire!
Ye it’s the gamble of that downgrades it for me, I think it suffered from being one of the first, we should’ve formalised exactly how we were categorising and looking at them, as competitive standpoint vs regular pickups etc (we initially weren’t going to but fell into it)
So skyhunter hunter might have some play on count of proteus land speeders are stupid cheap and can split fire 4 times. Loaded out properley and you can make reaction fire useless
Space Wolves in drop pod assault can be naaaasty. Their basic line grey slayers are not the ideal thing to have in your lines T1, even if they can’t assault
@@chrisjohal1755 you can do that. Kratos can only be glanced on 6s and they come with search lights meaning basically lit the target up for the rest of army to shoot. I prefer cheap small scout squads with nemesis bolter to kill all the auger scanners out of heavy weapon units. For context your forcing the opponent to waster it.
So it was an internal discussion we have not portrayed it very well I believe, what it is if you get out you can be intercepted but can't have any other reaction against you as long as you at base with what you have got out of as this is not a 'move' however the moment you move away from the pod you can do any movement reaction against that unit.
Im actually just about to do a tank vid, and personally use them a bunch; that being said I do think when it’s truly boiled down if the armies are optimised an army spending points elsewhere does better than one including tanks particularly battle tanks (vs transports/deployment methods)
@@BearfootMiniatures optimized is ok but it can be boring and soulless sometimes. I get you on tanks there not amazing and they all feel like they need just a little push to be better. I still run them and they can be crazy tuff to deal with.
Glad you enjoyed it! Agree though part of them being a fully fleshed out faction would be rite style options (all but sisters/custodes have a type?) though maybe there’s already enough flexibility?
Dorn and alpharius had a massive terminator battle on pluto

Ye agreed really (other than ZM)
Just allowing for much less models to be needed is a great place to start people off
Bwagz! I get the biggest kick out of James reping the Seahawks in all his appearances.
Got to be done mate!!! BWags back this year, him going to the rams made me not hate on the rams for a season! Felt weird!!

Well they can return fire so realistically doesn't work in 2.0 from a killing on turn 1 perspective

Not a bad point I don’t think on the wasting reactions here
Can you explain what rule suggest you cannot intercept the troops when using drop pod assault ? I’m not sure what this rule glitch is ?

What rule would I reference for this ? Reactive doors suggest the troops disembark immediately, thus intercepted
