  • In this video, we're putting the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza up against its compact SUV rivals. We’re comparing the Brezza which is powered by the mild-hybrid petrol powertrain against the Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet, both of which are powered by a turbo-petrol engine, and we’ve also got the Tata Nexon, the best-selling SUV in the country along with the Nissan Magnite. Also present in this test is the Mahindra XUV300, the only compact SUV in the country to possess genuine motorsport pedigree.
In this video, we're comparing driving dynamics, performance, features, space, comfort - everything you need to know about these SUVs.

I cannot believe the comments on here - calling the presenters “immature” and “not up to the mark”. RUclips commenters are silly, but this is just ridiculous! “Didn’t call the VW dual clutch automatic a DSG.” So what? It is still a dual clutch automatic. Literally every auto channel in the WORLD calls it a dual clutch and not a DSG. Only Indians are obsessed with calling it a DSG.
I think the presenters did a tremendous job comparing six cars. - which in itself is not an easy job. Very commendable, no question. Well done Evo India!

IMO, No one would go wrong in any of these cars. all of them are great. But for me, if its a petrol car, Brezza is for me. I am from Mizoram, a hilly area where roads are narrow and lots of hilly twisty roads. So, the K15C 4 cylinder NA engine is my pick of the lot. I'm not a fan of these small 3 cylinder engines with turbos. And the design, the ground clearance, the features, the interior space and the network service of Maruti is also a huge factor for my pick too. Sure, it may not have the top end power of the other cars with a turbo engine. But that 4 cylinder NA engine is a GEM!!!

Suspension is stiffer side. Service center is good. Technology features are best in segment in 4m cars. Rear seat leg space is low. Price is high in facelift cars

I have driven all of these cars except the face lifted brezza.
From my true experience Nexon is simply the best for a normal indian man.
I can attack any corner ( even blind corners) and any slightly off-road sections and pot holed Indian roads pretty brave with the Nexon which is closely trailed by xuv300. The safety it offers to u , ur family and to ur fellow friends is more than enough to securely choose it over any other. Well XUV is there, but i personaly hate it's interior and that's my reason to put it behind nexon. Granted it's transmission is not that fun and amt is lagay and slow, plus terrible service centre experience.
My friend and his family had a nasty accident and if it wasn't for Nexon and even if for xuv300, they are dead for sure. Here they escaped the incident with minor injuries and a bit more which are not serious.
U won't get any eye catching offers , many fancy and convenience factors on Nexon like in Kia, Hyundai and magnite. But Nexon is my winner purely based on the amount of confidence it gives u to hit any road situation.
For mileage brezza is unconditional winner. My friends nexons are clocking at 10 to 12 kmpl in city drive while 15+ on highways, which is ok / acceptable considering its weight to others.
For engine smoothness and refinery Nexon is not even in this competition. It's lagging a lot.
But over all Nexon is my overall winner.

A huge compromise on passenger safety, comparing the Kerb weight of Nexon vis-a-vis these Hyundai siblings. Nexon on the other hand starts huffing n puffing at higher speed, courtesy 3 cylinder engine. XUV300 has impractical boot, but a true joy jn driving. I think the perfect compact suv will be the combination of front look of xuv300 and rear look of brezza or venue and obviously safety will be best if mahindra or tata combine this profile

Not sure why shy away from the fact that Venue/Sonet are built on the same platform as Creta/Seltos, which fared poorly on Global NCAP tests and call it out in line with how the crash worthiness of new Brezza was speculated in the review. Its an important parameter which has helped Nexon gain the footing in segment, and would greatly help consumers make the right decision. Other than that, its a fairly comprehensive review where the effort of actually bringing in all the contenders is appreciable. With every SUV lagging in one or other area like price, handling, ride quality, or performance; its picking what your prioritize the most and going for it.
