I hope everyone is inspired to get out and train! Make sure to follow along!! We’ve got 9 weeks and 9 more episodes to go!! Please help out by sharing, commenting and liking!! Don’t forget to subscribe! Thank you ALL!
Man the tips and coaching are absolutely the best in the business as always, but it's cool to see you interact with Mark and be yourself in this one! I love that you kept the "outtakes" in :D
I love that you did this with a shorter rider. As a short rider myself, doing some of the training you suggest is difficult but I I've improved my balance so I guess this is great
I'm here after trying to static blance for the first time. I went from no second to 5 seconds, man i was sweating up a storm. I'm so jazzed to get all this dialed in, thank you for putting all this online.
I've been watching some of your videos, and practicing status balance, but after this current tutorial, what a game changer. I went from highly inconsistent... to now holding balance for over a minute, even 2-minute balance. I'm a short rider 5'2" on a 500 KTM, so I wanted to thank you for all these tips. It's a practice for sure, but it's going to help with my favorite single tracks rides in Colorado.
I absolutely love this video series ! I practice this drill about two hours, made huge improvements in my balance! Chris , thank you for taking the time to do this! Tie RC thank you for the sponsorship these videos do sell tires I have for purchase six this week
I am 54 years old. Spent two days training with Shane Watts, or one of his guys, several years ago. Learned so much, and I practice those things I learned every ride. I will be adding this to my practice and I am looking forward to learning more from you. Thanks!
I really love this guy's confidence...you deserve to be confident when you've put in work to be successful at what you do, and deserve being confident even more when you can actually TEACH those skills to others, and watch them progress too!!! Thanks for your teachings and examples! 💪
We need more of mark this is my first time watching this channel because i recently got my first dirt, i was once a zoomer on the street curves, im having a hard time transitioning to dirt
Enjoying this series. Around where I live, all in person classes and clinics are all based around motocross/track riding principles. Some things cross over, but so much of the training I've gotten is super focused on lapping on a track and not on riding open trails.
I love the way you break all actions to very small and understandable actions ,not all instructors know how to instruct but you Rich are one of the best ones. I do hope, some day to be able to go to utah with my daughter and take some courses with you! Big high five and thumbs up from us in Israel. 👏💪
This is a very good approach to training the balance. Following the video, I immediately proceeded to throw my Crock on, and hopped on my MTB bike in the garage. It is not easy with the tires on garage's floor, but I definitely see the purpose in this exercise. Also (you're right) the opposite foot is just as difficult. Tomorrow, I will take my ADV motorcycle and try in the local mountains. Great job, and thank you!
Thank you Rich!! I can practice this daily in my back yard. I struggle with track stands and slow technical terrain. This gives me something to shoot for.
Outstanding tutorial! Like your idea of using progressively harder situations to build a foundational skill, this seemingly obvious teaching technique is rare online
Hi, very nice training. Will follow the episodes practically - and - - this one - will not disturb my neighbors as - motor off ! Thanks - go ahead! regards from Germany!
Similar to Mark myself, I considered lowering my dirt bike. After riding standing up all the time and on the pegs as much as possible, I'm glad I did not lower it, no need. I treasure every inch of suspension while at speed through the sand whoops.
Wow, that thing with pressure on the opposite peg is the one I wasn't concentrating on enough before. And I struggle the most to get up on both pegs. Grateful for such series, Rich!
Wow! Just wow! This is fantastic info. I sent this to 4 friends so they can watch and be better riders. Unfortunately for us I it is -14 and will have to wait a few more months to try your techniques out. Following.
Most important thing I learned from RL, Practice. Been working on 5" and 8" logs for months. Just started working on 11" log. Practice. Over and over again. If you want to get good at this, you have to practice, especially what you're not good at. Practice. Repetition. There's no substitute.
Wow, I cannot express how profoundly sad I am that this series started just a day ago. I was seriously about to binge these videos and practice. Guess this means I have a week to focus on balance.
I did this exercise on my CRF300L and within 3 attempts I was able to stand balanced for over a minute. Really awesome instructional videos! Very helpful! Thank you!
I have been working on static balance on my CRF250L for about 9 months. I can balance for over a minute with front wheel in a hole in gravel. On grass or concrete I can balance for about 6 seconds. Any suggestions you can give me to get past this barrier. I practice about 5 days a week for about 15 minutes on static balance. I keep blaming the heavier bike but I am sure it is me. Thanks for any suggestions.
@user-lv7fj3ev2l Hey, yeah, I was really surprised I was able to get it that quickly, so just make sure you're following all the tips starting out. Make sure you're slightly downhill with the front tire in a hole, bars turned one way, and weight forward as you stand up. Making sure you're starting on the correct foot in relation to the direction your handle bars are turned towards makes a big difference as well. Also, for me, being well rested and calm helped me get it quickly. Though I'm sure it would take me longer right now to get balanced since I haven't been riding as much lately with this Illinois winter. Hope this helps! Keep practicing, and you'll get it!
I snagged a Klx300 recently and trying to get back into riding but mostly using it to commute. Anyway, oftentimes I find myself trying to balance at stop lights and I never realized that having the bars turned would make it easier! Can’t wait to leave work in about 15 minutes!
Educational, entertaining, and great points. Enough so that ringing the bell for notifications seemed almost as important as practicing what you taught.
The thing that is perfect in this tutorial is that he got a trainee that is 5'6" in height. A lot of us shorties want to enter the world of trail riding, so this helps us a lot.
Thanks Rich, I've watched all your training videos (heaps of times) & they have helped me to become a better rider & inspired me to skills train twice a week. Thanks mate, if your ever in Tasmania I have a bike for you ✊️👍
Thank you for sharing your knowledge in these videos! My buddy and I both just got bikes. I will be sharing and practicing this! I hope to be a better rider than when I was a young man with my 1st bike.
I went out with my partner and she got this straight away. Thirty seconds on the bike no problems. Me, not good at all, in fact hopeless. I think my front wheel needs to be in up to the axle!
No worries man, I literally went through the same thing. Couldn’t even balance the bike for 5 seconds. Actually 5 seconds is probably more than I actually achieved haha
Just found your channel a few days ago and already watched 2+ hours of content, great stuff. So tomorrow afternoon l'm starting this drill with my 690 (my only dirt bike) should be interesting to see how it works out with the extra weight. Either way it'll be fun. Thanks for the tutorial
I'm looking forward to future installments. Also pretty cool for your boss to be out there with you having fun. To many people get into the power sports biz and get the fun beaten out of them.
Even though I have watched your other static balance vid's and have put in numerous 30 minute sessions, I learned in this video to weight the opposite peg in reference to where the bars are turned. Maybe you mentioned it in past vid's but I never picked up on that. Will try that tomorrow. I still can't master it on concrete but then again, I don't ride on concrete 😂What I have noticed, is that since I have gotten better at static balance, my balance on the trail in techi sections has soared!! Thanks
Amazing!! You are a master… I’m so tired of seeing videos so unnatural. You make this works and doing It fun. I’ll chase the skill just because you put It so close on my way with this lesson. I’ll try my best!! It’s a pity that we are in oposite sides of the world because I would like to enjoy your lessons personally, in your camp or school. Once again… thank you very much!!
Thank you Rich for the content. I'm a short rider AND I ride an WRF250 the same year of that YZF in the video. I'm really happy abound this series and let's check if it works even here in Brazil 😉.
Realy great man. Love these vids. We thank you sir. Only thing you missed from one of your previous vids is where to look. Fortunately cought it in a previous vid. But again thank you.
Sometimes I spend an hour or more when I get home from work just watching the phone, I'm gonna try static balance instead, thanks for the excellent explanation 👍
Thanks for these videos y'all. I've been practicing balance on my mountain bike and my Tenere 700 and it's really helped. Almost no other training or experience whatsoever but since I started practicing a LOT the next time I went out riding offroad on my T7 it felt so much easier doing those nasty new england watermelon sized rock hill climbs

Man the tips and coaching are absolutely the best in the business as always, but it's cool to see you interact with Mark and be yourself in this one! I love that you kept the "outtakes" in :D
You’ll love the next 9 episodes!!
“I don’t believe in mastery. I believe in the pursuit of mastery.” Epic.
Best instructor ever!
Much appreciated!
I love that you did this with a shorter rider. As a short rider myself, doing some of the training you suggest is difficult but I I've improved my balance so I guess this is great
That was the plan. Enjoy the next 9 episodes!
Completely agree! I was going to ask how tall Mark is because it gives me confidence being a much shorter rider.
I'm here after trying to static blance for the first time. I went from no second to 5 seconds, man i was sweating up a storm.
I'm so jazzed to get all this dialed in, thank you for putting all this online.

Rich is mastering his teaching abilities! Thank you both, teacher and student!!!

Update, I spent this past weekend with Rich in one of his courses. Learned so much. Highly recommend taking his courses!
killing it - thanks Rich sooo important. Helps to save plastics from needless falls
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!!
Starting this series when I get back home. Ever since I bought my first enduro my adventure riding has gotten to the next level. Thanks!
You guys crack me up! Along with amazing instruction. Let the BINGING BEGIN!!
Only been riding for 2 months and I love your teaching style. This can all apply to me even as a beginner
Thanks Rich again for taking the time to give a structured guide for all of us struggling students.
as usual your presentation is more real than your competitors -- so i tend to follow your channel more than most -- looking forward to your series
Thanks so much for the support!! 🙌
Thanks Rich! Over the past year you have made me a much better and safer rider with these training vids! Thank you!! And Mark!
I’m stoked I’ve been able to help over the past few years! Thank you for your continued support!
I watch all your stuff. This was, for me, the best vid so far. Thanks. 9 more to go!
I really love this guy's confidence...you deserve to be confident when you've put in work to be successful at what you do, and deserve being confident even more when you can actually TEACH those skills to others, and watch them progress too!!!
Thanks for your teachings and examples! 💪
Thanks so much for watching! I hope people get out there and give it a shot!
I haven't even ridden a dirtbike and I'm watching this for my street riding. Wow, this is excellent.
Wow, I have never even imagined that I will be able to balance like this. Great instructions!👍👍👍
This is by far the best tutorial on how to balance. Fantastic job!
I'm 5.7 too and just started trials a week ago. This helps me a lot. Thank you IRC Tyre guy and Mark.
We need more of mark this is my first time watching this channel because i recently got my first dirt, i was once a zoomer on the street curves, im having a hard time transitioning to dirt
Mark you're a good sport to share your training time and share your challenges with the world... even incognito!
I enjoy watching both of you guys! You guys compliment each other very well! Please continue to have him in your videos. It gives us hope!
9 more episodes to go! Thanks for watching!

I appreciate that! I may be making the trip to Israel.. Hope to teach you in person!
I'm an old vet moto guy but I really enjoy your episodes and technique. Phenomenal! Thanks!!
Thanks for putting these together. I go over them with my kids who ride as well.
Needed this series. Guilty of every bad habit!
Man so detailed, genius communication and examples! ✊🏽🙌🏽
Such a great video, thank you! I practiced this for 30 minutes and went from balancing for barely 3 seconds to a minute plus! 👏👏
Just got my son his first bike. These videos are going to be so helpful to teach me how to train him. Awesome!!! Thanks

I'll be keeping up my training with these series. Great idea!
Much appreciated!!
Thanks Rich. Having a ton of fun learning and challenging myself with the static balance.🤙🏽🏁
So very stoked for this series! Can't wait to get home to follow along.
Thanks so much!! 🙌
Outstanding tutorial! Like your idea of using progressively harder situations to build a foundational skill, this seemingly obvious teaching technique is rare online
Stoked you see what I’m doing! It’s the best way to train! Thanks for watching!
your new to be boys, but really liking your teaching style, thanks from Wales UK, will be watching for more.
We just dropped episode 2 go check it out!! 🤘 thanks for watching!

Haha! Yep week by week! Get your balance dialed it will help you the rest of the time!
While you're waiting for the next one go and look at Toni Bou videos for inspiration. The king of balance, often on one wheel or going backwards!
You're the man. Thank you Rich!
Loved his answer! Basically everything! Don't laugh!! LOL Me too dude, me too.
Just binged all these and I am pumped to run these drills!!
What a great series Rich, invaluable lessons that you use every time you ride.
Been so excited for this series to come out, cant wait for the next lesson lol
Sweet!! Enjoy the next 9 weeks!
Looking forward to the series. Glad I caught the beginning

Really enjoying this series, something that I can practice in my backyard or my garage. Thank you 🏍️👏👏
These drills are amazing, keep up the good work
Yep,, I am also short. 5'6" to. Got my Xtrainer lowered too. Thanks for the instruction and motivation to improve!
Educational, entertaining, and great points. Enough so that ringing the bell for notifications seemed almost as important as practicing what you taught.

Excellent advice, presented perfectly.
I like the interaction between you guys, especially the conversation....

Very good tire-contact tip and trust me I needed it. Thanks guys!
Great to hear!
Mark "EE-KAY-DAH" your vids are da bomb aloha from Hawaii.
Been my boss for 5 years and I was pronouncing it wrong the whole time 🤷♂️ learning that during this series🤦♂️
Thanks for watching.
I'm inspired!
I'm going to practice, practice and practice!!
Love hearing that!
Was trying this in the garage, damn is it an eye opener! And this will be my first session back on a bike in 8 years. So I got work to do
I went out with my partner and she got this straight away.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Excellent!!!!! I love your teachings guy! Thank you very very much!
Much appreciated!! Thanks for watching!
Awesome tips. I will try next time I get out in the hills
Right on!!

So tomorrow afternoon l'm starting this drill with my 690 (my only dirt bike) should be interesting to see how it works out with the extra weight. Either way it'll be fun. Thanks for the tutorial
Thanks for watching! It will absolutely work! Just make sure to add extra contact! “Dig a big hole”🤘
I'm looking forward to future installments. Also pretty cool for your boss to be out there with you having fun. To many people get into the power sports biz and get the fun beaten out of them.
It was a lot of fun. Enjoy the series!
Been looking forward to this series
The stoke is high 🤘🤘
It gets better and better as the series goes on! Thanks for the continued support!!

😊you guys are the best. Thank you
So awesome! did this in my backyard and pulled it off on my 3rd try.
Súper good idea and series
Thank you Rich for the content. I'm a short rider AND I ride an WRF250 the same year of that YZF in the video. I'm really happy abound this series and let's check if it works even here in Brazil 😉.
Thanks for watching I believe it will work in Brazil!
Realy great man. Love these vids. We thank you sir. Only thing you missed from one of your previous vids is where to look. Fortunately cought it in a previous vid. But again thank you.
That was a great instructional, thanks mate👍
this promises to be a great series!!
Excited for everyone to see the next 9 weeks!
Good stuff as usual. Thanks Rich!
Much appreciated!! Thank you!
Sometimes I spend an hour or more when I get home from work just watching the phone, I'm gonna try static balance instead, thanks for the excellent explanation 👍
Right on!! that’s my hope for the series!!
Right on! I hope the next episodes help!
I remmeber your video on practicing it in garage (I don't have access to soft surface on daily basis :D) now I just need discipline :D
Thanks for these videos! They help a lot!
Right on! Thanks for watching
My wife and I learned the basics of static balance last winter in our basement after seeing that exact video. She was struggling at first so in addition to airing her tires down, we put the bike on an old rug. It made a huge difference, giving her some extra bite on the front tire. She was making strides in no time. Give it a try!
@@IRCTireUSAMoto Thank you for making them!
@@ShadowsFirst That's a good tip! Will try rug myself :)
Great teaching technique on static balance that something I really need to work on and this episode gave me some good ideas to try
That is the goal!! 9 more episodes to go!! Good luck!!
@@IRCTireUSAMoto thank you
Amazing Training Rich!
Thanks for watching! 🤘
AMAZING videos!!! They are gonna help me ride better so much!! Thank you
Thanks so much for the support!
