Was genuinely upset to read the article about Mythbusters ending the other day. Been my favourite show since it started and it's been fun to learn along with the crew. Couldn't understand why the build team (Grant, Tori and Kari) had been let go but it all makes a bit more sense now. I'm taking solace in the fact that we will have a few more episodes to enjoy before being cut off forever. Thanks for everything Adam and Jamie, and don't stop entertaining/teaching us in one way or another *cough, weekly 'one day builds,' *cough *cough :)

I'm so sad to see Mythbusters stop, I remember fondly when I was younger watching episodes multiple times. With that being said, you sparked my interest in science and engineering and next year is my first year studying engineering at university. Thank you for all the entertainment you have provided me with over the years. I look forward to the future and what you do next.
Maybe Adam can start working on his model-making book?! That would be awesome!

Adam, Seeing Myth Busters come to an end makes me extremely sad, because i have literally watched every single episode since it first aired in 2003 when i was 11. This show was the definition of my childhood and is one of the things that allowed me to love science the way i do. I really hope this final season will go out with a bang, like explosions every episode.
I first saw Mythbusters when I was 6 years old, that was 13 years ago. My native language isn't english and i'm bad at my native language, but when we got english class for the first time (when I was 8) I got among the highest scores of the class. I had watched mythbusters every day of the week before going to bed for 2 years straight. Mythbusters inspired my scientific side which lead to me putting in the extra work to be able to go to university. Now I study math and physics and I'm loving it. Thank you guys for the years of fun and inspiration you gave me!
I literally have watched the series since the beginning. When i was 8 my family finally got cable tv. And it's been one of the only show's that i have found worth watching aside from a few other discovery shows that are now dead and some show's on the history channel. I wouldn't say it started my curiosity about science and how things work but it is definitely one of the driving forces. I started by taking apart appliances when i was 6 or 7 then trying to put them back together wanting to know why they do what they do. It got to the point where family would either buy me tools or broken electronics for presents instead of toys. Now i'm 19 and working on electrical engineering as my major.
The prospects of Adam jumping into Tested "with both feet" gave me chills of excitement. The coming years are going to be INSANE!!!!
Any chance Mythbusters gets picked up by Netflix for more seasons?
+John Edmondson That usually only happens when shows are canceled due to poor ratings, which Adam specifically notes was not the case for Mythbusters.

I have watched Mythbusters from the beginning in 2002. I am now 41 years old; this means that almost 30% of my life, Mythbusters was part of my (almost daily) routine. I will miss it like hell..!
One of the best entertaining, educational shows on television thank you for all the years. Thank you Jamie and Adam and to the whole crew at Mythbusters well done!
Been a fan of you (Adam) since the first episode of Mythbusters aired. Watching those early seasons still flushes me with nostalgia of that era. It's sad that Mythbusters will be no more, but you and Jamie (your whole crew) should be damn proud of yourselves. Think about how many great shows get cut off after just a couple seasons. The fact the show lasted so long is a testament to how great it is. Not only that, but it was a show that brought both entertainment and education to its viewers. An amazing run, and I'll always have great memories tied to it. Here's to more Tested!!!
@Tested I'm proud to say I'm part of the Mythbusters era. I remember so many of the episodes from my childhood and growing up with the show. It's been amazing. RIP

It has been several days since I heard the news. I am overjoyed. Why?
The ending of this show is a cultural event. It marks the culmination of a genuinely relevant and significant effort. The impact of the show is already felt in society at large and has encouraged so many in their own intellectual pursuits. It is ending properly, on Jamie and Adam's terms. And its place in television and culture is secure.
Far from having any complaints, I am excited and grateful.

I do not know if the tested crew read these comments, but the perspective of the ripple effect over time, when you interact with someone even if the interaction is though a screen. The ripple effect over time is a mark that starts in this timeline and ripples through all universes, and it is not just big stars like Adam Savage that have these effects, his reach maybe greater but the ripples he makes are just as large as the ripples you and I make each day. We all have a great ability to create ripples and feed a positive effect into many timelines.
So good to hear that an awesome show gets an good end! Thanks a ton for a super time with Mythbusters! Never a dull episode, seen em all! Thanks for Mythbusters, I'm excited to see what come next from you guys :D
That's sad to here that it's getting over. I have been watching in since the begging and I still remember watching the first episode with the remote control police car when I was 4. I think you guys helped me decide that I wanted to be a mechanical engineer and i am starting college next fall. Thank you for an awesome childhood!
I remember watching Mythbusters in middle school, and as TV shows have seemingly continued to grow increasingly "setup" and "fake", it has always been refreshing to see that Adam and Jaymie's show has stayed true to its original format. I don't know if I'd completely credit Mythbusters for leading me towards my chosen career path, but it CERTAINLY played a noteworthy role. (alongside the old "Hardhat Harry" VHS series and other discovery and animal planet shows. [FWIW, I have perused a career as a CNC Machinist making aerospace, medical, and robotics components]).

Adam is 100% correct about Silverado. Each one of the characters has an arc and an ending that pays off. I'll stop whatever I'm doing to sit down and watch that movie.

I am sad about Mythbusters coming to an end, but very excited that Adam will be able to commit more time to Tested. I absolutely love the one day builds, and excited that Adam is saying he will work on them more over the next year.
Hope they donate their hats to The Smithsonian as part of a BIG MYTHBUSTERS EXHIBITION. Mythbusters is an American ICON!
Mythbusters has truly impacted my life over the years and I can say without a doubt it's THE greatest scientific television series ever produced. Science as entertainment has only been done right a handful of times and they've raised the bar by creating something that's appeals to so many without sacrificing content. For me nothing will ever replace Mythbusters, but I hope future programs learn from the show so we can all see more quality science on television. Thank you Adam for being a great part of my childhood I look forward to one day showing my future children the show.

I believe the one that Norm might have been referring to is Max von Sydow!!! He is the only BIG one that I can possibly think of that would be absolutely perfect as the main villain.

I am one of the original Mythbusters fan boys. I really loved the pace of the first few seasons (saw them "live") and the feel of making something to prove a theory.That's why I love Tested so much as it feels much more organic that what Mythbusters turned into and in some ways it's spiritual successor.
Most of my big questions have been answered over the years. If I have anything else to ask it's to both Adam and Jamie - what was your favorite device to make? I would guess it would be the "jet-pack", but would love to be proven wrong.
I'm 15 and have been watching mythbusters for as long as I can remember Adom you and Jamie are the reason Im the person I am today I've graduated early I'm headed off to collage in February to be a ford tech and it's all because of the show inspiring me to do what I want with my life if you can do that for a living and enjoy every day why can't I? I want to thank the cast of mythbusters for making me who I am it's sad it has to end now but I'm sure you guys will go out with a bang

Honestly Mythbusters has increasingly become too fast paced and badly cut for my taste, but I am a huge fan of the work that you and Jamie have done.
The one-day-builds via tested are however fantastic! I love that you do not skip over things and let us see and experience both how you think and work, it is very educating and entertaining to watch.

Thanks Adam for the tip on Silverado, really brilliant western. I cant believe i'd never heard of it. There is some excellent photography, the soundtrack is amazing and a couple of times I felt the spirit of star wars stirring, great film, cast and characters....cant wait for the Force Awakens
I died a little inside when I heard the Mythbuster news. Absolutely my favorite show of all time.
Well, I dunno if Adam and Jamie will ever read this, but gentlemen; You have given me and my family something of real value: A way to make science and engineering cool! Thank you so much for all the laughs and gasps and especially for holding NOTHING sacred! You made sure that farts are treated with just as much excitement and care as outer-space or explosions. You've shown us how to just grab a sheet of plywood and spray paint and gasoline and damn-well try things (safely) for ourselves! I don't know what ultimate effect you'll have had on my daughters as they grow up, but dammit, I just built my first costume for my kid, and I can understand how much fun you really have doing it. I'll be following your YT channel, and if I ever feel like I know enough, I'll join the Tested community more fully as a contributor.

Adam you are my mentor since im like 10 , i used to watch the mythbusters marathons and driving my mom crazy blowing things up,scaring the shit out of her with bloody practical fx, causing shorts in the house and tearing electronics appart only for the sake of knowing how the hell it worked...today im 25 i watch tested and build fx lightsabers out of crap i find,I sculp scifi figures , you really are an inspiration to continue my "hobby" until i die :)

Next, I think should be the show Adam and Jamie's Shop Class 101. One of the best things for me about watching Mythbusters, was seeing the AMAZING collection of equipment in the shop. We mere mortals will never have access to equipment like that, so Adam and Jamie should do shows where they design and show how to build great stuff, using basic equipment that most people would have in their garages.
i hope that the end of the episode again cement truck explosion like in the beginning of mythbusters that was bang i still remember of the show :) and also kind of reunion of all mythbusters members

The final episode of the mythbusters will be a live show where Jamie proves the force is real by pulling the moon closer to earth and where Adam reveals a full size Death star to blow it up.
Last episode with a very large explosion and Adam's Duck Army.
I'm really going to miss watching you on Discovery but I will definitely be watching and reading whatever you do in the coming years. I cannot wait to see what happens with Tested. Thank you Adam Savage for keeping me uplifted and inspired. (Building a DL-44 and lightsaber because of you.)

The composer you are thinking of when you saying it sounds like John Williams' music comes from somewhere is Gustav Holst.
Mythbusters is the sole reason for me becoming an engineer, and getting accepted to one of the best schools for it.
It's really bitter sweet to hear that Mythbusters is gonna come to an end. Bitter because thats like the only thing I want to watch on Discovery and Sweet cause now we get more Tested with Adam's One Day Builds. All the best in future endeavours and maybe we might see more of Jamie on Tested too.

And Mythbusters. I grew up with the show. Started watching when I was 13, and I'm 23 now. I honestly have to say one of my favourite moments is from a blooper episode- Tory "jumping" the wagon on that bike. And then there was the blowing up of the cement truck, that thing just disappeared. I feel like I'm probably going to cry during the last season xD But I AM excited for more one-day builds!

I believe the cast member they are talking about is Andy Serkis. We heard his voice in the first trailer but haven't seen him. Apparently he did motion capture and is playing Supreme Leader Snoke.

Also, Darth Maul's light sabre did not become two one handed light sabres. When Obi Wan slices the handle it breaks one side of the light sabre. So it goes from a double bladed light sabre to a one bladed light sabre.
How long until the first Mythbusters reunion special?
Honestly, I could seeing Mythbusters become a once-a-year special. That would keep it kind of alive, it would be great for sweeps week, but it would let everyone move on with their other projects.
A few hard answers about the reasons behind the cancelation of mythbusters would have been nice. From what I understand Jamie didn't want to go on. Is that right?

Having been to a concert entirely consisting of John Williams's music, I can assure you that they are extremely diverse in structure and tone. A few pieces sound similar, thematically, but most are variable enough to clearly distinguish the difference.

The final season of Mythbusters is gonna be pretty emotional but I have a question. Since mythbusters is over will you still be on Tested? Will you still do one day builds and stuff? And will I still be able to see my favorite builder making things that inspire me?
i've worked and trained with Ray Park ("El Diablo" aka Darth Maul) and he is one of the nicest genuine persons I've had the honor to work and train with. His martial arts is top notch, and his broadsword is really well done. Very personable!
Haha, I love your Dune reference Adam, best sci-fi anything, from anywhere, ever. and it only gets more and more reference in popular movies and TV shows these days.
Also, I looked at that Table read photo with the Force Awakens cast, and the only person I can see on there who you haven't seen much of is Snoke, Andy Serkis. But it was his voice that opened the first teaser! "There has been an awakening" etc.
Sad to hear that Mythbusters is ending, but awesome that you have had such a great run and that you get to go out with a bang, so to speak! Fitting.

Now that Mythbusters is coming to an end, is there any possibility that Netflix in the UK will get the later seasons? For ages they had up to about season 5 or 6, now they've only got the first 3. Aaawwwwwww. No more mythbusters :( I never thought I'd see the day. I practically grew up with this show. Came on when I was in like 7th grade and I've watched it ever since. I'm gonna miss it a lot.

Used to be a huge MB fan and watched religiously... however I fell off the few years and evidently wasn't the only one. However in that time I found the Podcast and Tested and am an even bigger fan of whats going on here... I've already 100% made the shift and am supper stoked to what happens in the future. However I hope the Podcasts get a little longer... 30 mins is too short for all the stuff that gets talked about, I'm hoping for 45 to an hour.
34:14 Norm is talking about the character Andy Serkis is playing. The character has a name, although I'm not sure if that's been officially released or just leaked. He has not appeared on screen, in an promotional material, or any of the toys.

I have been watching Mythbusters since I was 12, I saw the first episode in 2003 and Ill see the last..its crazy to think about it that way and crazier to accept that its going to be gone. But I cant be all sad if that means more Adam on Tested.
I'm teaching 6th grade science at an international school in China. I just taught a section on the scientific method. I can see it happen in Mythbusters, but because of the language issues the action in Mythbusters distracts my students (in a good way). Is there a episode that emphasizes the scientific method?

jeez, I grew up with mythbusters and have always loved it. it's just an awesome show that makes science fun as well as one of the main influences on my choice of studying engineering. damn im gonna miss it

I'd love a show about practical effects and model making; the mythbusters format but instead of myths and "can a tissue box kill you if it goes fast enough" it's "let's make a practical werewolf transformation sequence with a bunch of focused gags. Hand extending, face breaking, the works."

I think they should release the "unreleased on dvd" episodes in the U.S. with the final season of Mythbusters... There aren't many missing, but some of them like "Ultimate Mythbuster" that I'm sure everyone would like to have.

I agree with Norm, I think Rey and Kylo are the Solo twins. The new movie poster definitely hints at that making them perfectly parallel to each other. The second teaser trailer hints towards that as well with Luke talking to someone about how the force is strong in his family, he has it, his father had it, his sister has it, and YOU have that power too. Obviously that person is part of his blood family, so I assume its either Rey or Kylo he's talking to depending on Luke's role in the movie. It's most likely Rey, as she does seem like Luke once was before he knew anything about the force or his potential. And its most likely that if the Solo's did have twins, they'd separate them at birth in fear of the same reason that Luke and Leia were separated at birth; to hide them from Vader. But then the question is, who are they hiding them from and is that the person who found Kylo and recruited him into the Knights of Ren. Can't forget the rule of Sith, there's always two, master and apprentice. Could it be luke? Does he want Kylo to finish Grandpa started? Maybe. The wreck you see Rey climbing inside is the Star Destroyer that Vader died on, the Executor, the that's shown on the second teaser trailer too.
Han stating "It's all real" is a great line since Han was the first to say in Episode IV " Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense."
+Nick Andreala You have made a mistake. Darth Vader/Annakin Skywalker died on the Death Star after saving Luke from the Emperor, Darth Sideous. Luke took him to the planet surface before the Death Star was destroyed so he could give him a Jedi funeral (a pyre to cremate him).
The Star Destroyer may have been the one you cite, but it was sent to the planet surface by the rebels during the battle that destroyed the Death Star. Watch Episode 6 and pay s[ecial attention to the scene where Vader, Luke and Sideous have their final confrontation.
