  • This is a how-to on how you can customize a "no logo"-drumhead (Aquarian head). I chose to paint my own band's EP cover, "Kick Out Your Brain" by Final Assault, on the bass drumhead for an upcoming tour. The best paint for this kind of project is absolutely 1Shot enamels!
    Enjoy!

    That’s freaking awesome! Some pinstripe paint, old school tracing. Big masterpiece!

    Then the band breaks up lol. Whenever I put a ton of effort into my bass Drum head we break up shortly after. I have a collection now...

    I really hope you'll see this comment! Hi! Your work is incredible! I'm supposed to do the same for a friend's drum. He wants it to be done with glow in the dark paint so that when the lights go out the band name and logo still glow! Do you have any tips or how I could do it? His is black and shiny and I'm a bit nervous to do it! Help!

      Hi! And thanks for the comment!
      Hmm sounds a bit tricky because I'm not sure how well the glow in the dark color will stick to the glossy surface of the bass drumhead. But try getting your hands on 1shot paint. Sticks to anything glossy, easy to apply with a brush. I would use white as a base for the glow in the dark color, so if it ever fades away, you still have the white underneath. Another (not as cool) trick would be to cut the logo from a piece of "glow in the dark" -vinyl, and stick that on the bass drum...
      Good luck with the project!

    Nice job! Did you use any spray varnish or anything like that when you were done to seal it?

      Nope. Nothing at all, this is just gloss paint on top of a gloss head👍

    Which Paint did you use?
    And is a Remo fyberskin also a good head to work on?

      He used 1 shot enamel... it dries perfect on drum heads and I primarily seen some use it for pinstripes. But hey trying to pain a drum head that’s smooth and coated isn’t easy! But look it up it’s actually called “1 shot paint enamel” comes in different colors and small containers. Doesn’t take much of this stuff to get a good cover! Although this guy is pro.

    Did you put an outer coating after you finished painting?

    • @Turntwig
      @Turntwig  6 лет назад

      Hi, no I did not. The head was glossy and the 1shot paint is too, and super tough. The head has taken a beating and been on the road, and not a single scratch. But I think a clear coat could easily start to fall of after some time.
