Super excited to see more content about non-photosynthetic corals. Definitely an underappreciated part of the hobby.

It’s great that Reef Builders is continuing to give attention to the more unusual aspects of the hobby - I love how many niches there are in reef keeping

Thanks so much for sharing this! I've been so curious about NPS corals for quite some time and it was difficult to find reliable information. This was very informative!

Seeing content on this is wonderful. But, this is the one group of corals in the hobby I'm still hesitant to keep. Mostly due to a lack of knowledge.
I'm very happy to hear Mr. Peterson will be building out and gapping that need in the hobby.

Sun corals (Tubastraea) are a good place to start. They've been kept in the hobby for a long time. The biggest thing is making sure these corals have a solid and consistent food source and like Levi says, there are still a lot of unknowns there. ~Remy

The only way to prove that what your feeding is working is to show growth with video which I haven't seen at all your better off trying one nps gorgonian one type of food that is working and monitor growth not buy 10 different types of nps and use a shotgun approach of food then u don't know which food is working or not working id do bare bottom all day. And another thing some are deep water big temperature differences and another thing is people put them in there reef tank with light and over feed the tank trying to keep them alive and u know how that turns out needs to be species only tank no light and probably cooler water depending on the nps species

Ive always wondered about the temperature of the tank as well with these deep water NPS corals. I wish BRS Investigates did a test on this type of low light low temp tank vs a standard 78F High light tank.

I admire anyone trying something new, but there's nothing in this video that wasn't known 15 years ago.
