Thanks for the teardown the of the stock breather! I have been looking around on how it works. I guess you really need diff breathers if you do deep water crossings a lot. Stock is only for short puddles and shallow rivers

Can you please show the finished work. Also the attaching to the factory gear box and transfer case breathers

Easy to get out, push down on blue ring and while holding down pull tube out. You can also buy for a couple of bucks niftybtube cutter from the hydraulic shop 👍

I get the idea with the rear diff, but you said the two factory breathers already in the engine bay are for the front diff and gear box. What about the transfer case?
I haven't climbed under my Fortuner yet to check myself, just hoping you did the hard yakka already...
I have seen the two factory breathers in the engine bay but assumed they were for the transmission and transfer case, while both diffs had the little button breathers.

Garry Graham I just extended the ones in the engine bay to the new filters. Transfer is on the back were the black plastic is and gearbox is on the drivers side up front.

Hey mate, just noticed your ARB compressor in the engine bay, i want to do the same, is there a mount for it or did you have to fab one yourself. Cheers

There should be a mounting plate you can buy from ARB. Alternatively making one for yourself would be a pretty easy and cheap project.
