I had the GREAT honor and pleasure of fishing with THE Bama Beach Bum last week...not once...BUT TWICE. This young man is a great man and American and his channel is bound for greatness. I'm trying to convince him to start a Patreon account so those of us who love his content can contribute something small every month to support his work. Let's face it....he's doing what many of us DREAMED of doing and didn't have the courage to do it..."leave the rat race and pursue our dream and passion!" Help me to convince the Bama Beach Bum to set up a Patreon account so people like us who are willing to sacrifice one $5 Starbucks (or fill in the blank) per month so he can keep the content coming. It is SO HARD to run a RUclips channel. Shooting the video is easy...the work is in the editing and the prep. Oh and let's not forget he is a loving father and a husband and has those responsibilities.Help me to convince Bama Beach Bum to start a Patreon account so we can support him. We discussed this on the beach last week and his humility (which is a great thing) is getting in the way. But he can put pure educational content on Patreon as added value to justify the support. How do you set up a rod and reel (that's a 3 part educational series), how do you survey the beach on any given day to hunt the fish; still water, rough water, dirty water (that's a 3 part educational series), how do you tie knots for a double Pomp rig and why...why do you tie a single Pomp rig and why (that's a 3 part educational series), how do you set up a Carolina rig and why keep a mall rig handy while you are Pomp riggin' (that's a 3 part educational series), how to you tie a single and double uni-knot...and on and on. Help me convince this great American who is gifted, honest, pure spirited, charismatic as all get out and humble as they come to set up a Patreon account so his subscribers can show the love! AND...he hasn't announced it yet and he will probably be PO'd that I am spilling the beans, but aside from guiding, he is about to add a product offering for an extra fee to feature you on a fishing trip on his channel. For me it was priceless. As an older man with a preteen son, I know I won't see my son's best days. But Bama Beach Bum made an INCREDIBLE video of our day trip with my son; when I am gone my son will ALWAYS have that...and THAT is priceless!!! Thank you Matty!
Couldn't agree more. Swear by Fishbites. Just returned from fishing three days off the surf in Pensacola. Lots of dinkers, all caught on Fishbites Shrimp flavor. My species were the same: Whiting, Catfish and Pompano. Several ladyfish with a baitcaster and Kastmaster spoon too. They love anything silver and shiny.
We went out last Sat. Afternoon to OB fish bites and shrimp nothing but hardheads until sunset my daughter caught her PB pomp 18.5 in. in length. Made the day worth it!
Very cool content!!!! Nice fish count! I think you’d see a little more success with those fishbites by adding the blaze orange pyramid weight I sent you! Maybe it might make it into your fishbite-vid-a-thon. Heck I bet you have a lot of things people sent you to try!
When I go to New Jersey I use bloodworm flavored fishbites I catch tons of whiting ( northern kingfish). Lots of fun on light tackle. Keep up the great videos!
I'm new to surf fishing and loving your videos. I live about 2 hours north of the Gulfport , Biloxi area in Ms.. Hopefully one day our paths will cross, until then tight lines man.....
I tried the Fish Bites for the first time this weekend due to your videos and it worked really well. We have a pin fish problem here in Tampa Bay and they had a hard time stealing the bait.
Had live shrimp at the beach yesterday. Could not hook using live shrimp so used smaller hook and a Gulp, very small bait,,, caught 2 tinsy 5 inch whiting... haha... I gave up but need to grab some fish bites today.
I bought a Pacifun Venom and liked it so much I have three now. great drag, very light, holds more line than most brands, all internal parts are stainless steel and they work better than my Stradics that are four times the price.
I have two Piscifun Torrent baitcasters. They seem to make pretty good stuff for the money. Salty Scales has been doing some reviews of their products here lately as well. I think you will enjoy the reel and curious to see what you think of it. I enjoy your content! Keep up the good work.
@9;00 I see you running towards the rod. With the fishbite do you just cast and place in the sand spike? Is there a certain jigging technique? Thanks...looking to try some surf fishing here in the Tampa Bay area...prob John's Pass area.
Liking the series so far bud! I saw where someone else mentioned it but Josh Taylor of Salty Scales has done some reviews on some of the Piscifun stuff. I haven’t tried one yet but their spinning reels look good to me. I’m loving these videos. Already watched through day 3 but just now having time to comment. Keep it up man! God bless!
I fished last week a few times with just fish bites, and my friends did too. We caught 1 redfish, white trout, and I believe lady fish and sail cats. Not sure where in that mix we started adding shrimp lol.
I have a torrent which I like quite a bit but also have a chaos 5k and it is temperamental to say the least. Basically it sucks. It needs constant maintenance to work correctly. First one I got broke before I caught a fish and the replacement (which was replaced free of charge) is not looking great. Would not recommend that one for sure
I'm gonna give these fishbites another try this summer but I've never had any luck with them. I'm gonna try a few things differently this year actually. And for us in NC we have no limit on the pompano size so I'm gonna try to eat the first one I catch thats decent size. I've caught plenty in the past but have always tossed them back.
Went this past Saturday with just fish bites and we caught over 50 Whiting, 3 Gaftops, stingray and a few hard heads.....good luck the rest of the week
What is that yellow marshmallow thing above the bead? And I really like your channel, you seem like a good guy, and I'm going to try lowering my surf fishing gear, setup for catching Moby Dick down to 10 lbs test and size 6 circle hook, good tip!
Welp, as you know, I’ve used Piscifun and really like their reels haha. I’m torn between getting a Spartan first or The Honor like the one my dad showed you at the house.
Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ruclips.net/user/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

Kevin Frazier pretty sure ur him
If someone could just get him to buy some razors. Lol
Kevin Frazier what does it matter if he’s American, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, blue, yellow, or purple
Hell, I'd throw him enough for a couple bags of fishbites
Best part of Fish Bites is that nothing is stealing that off your hook. (I can't even get them off, lol.)
Love this small channel keep it up
Great surf fishing action Matthew. Enjoyed the video. Looking forward to more. Good luck!

Try the Clam flavor in off-color water ... Sand Flea is also better for Pompano ... Crab as well ... Shrimp catches too many Hardheads.
Great video as always! Watch out for that little Carolina setup, you'll end up with a big bull red on it! Lol
😂😂😂
Great videos...It makes me wish I was closer to the ocean.
Dude , kissing the fish!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!! You are a real sportsman when u do that my friend. Great job
Lol thanks!
We went out last Sat. Afternoon to OB fish bites and shrimp nothing but hardheads until sunset my daughter caught her PB pomp 18.5 in. in length. Made the day worth it!
That is a stud pomp!!
bead also attracts fish, especially whiting (kingfish)

I might just have to throw one on this week! 🤙
@@BamaBeachBum have you ever caught a sheepshead on fish bite, if so witch one
I use almost exclusively fish bites here in South Carolina and we love them. We catch whiting to use for Blacktip bait.
Great series Beach.......Have you ever caught a flounder in the surf with fishbites???? On my bucket list.....
When I go to New Jersey I use bloodworm flavored fishbites I catch tons of whiting ( northern kingfish). Lots of fun on light tackle. Keep up the great videos!

Off to a very good start, Matt....Keep hitting it hard and Tight Lines my friend..
Fyrst Waffen spectacular catch!

Still looked like a fun day
Love surf fishing and catching different species
Thats the beauty of the surf
Heck yeah man! I just got to gulf shores, is there a bait shop you recommend? Also one I could find these at as well! Thank you so much!
I bought a Pacifun Venom and liked it so much I have three now. great drag, very light, holds more line than most brands, all internal parts are stainless steel and they work better than my Stradics that are four times the price.
I fish with straight fish bites quite often and it always get at least a few fish. I like them a lot. I like the white shrimp ones the most.
It was nice to meet you. Thanks for the selfie pic! 🤙🏾
Nice to meet you also! You were in this vid!
Bama Beach Bum ayyyyeeee 😎 🎣
What was the weight of the weight for the Carolina rig he used in this video and the weight of the weight for the pompano rig
What size wight do you use or recommend for surf fishing?
I use a 3oz 90% of the time because it holds in most conditions and even when it’s calm I still use it because I’m more accurate with a 3oz

Awesome! Thank you for the input. I like the reel so far. I’ll put it to the test for sure
Which whiting has a leopard like camouflage?
Did he catch more fish on the pompano rig or the Carolina rig on this video

I thread bloodworm on the hook then put a small hunk of fishbites on the point to help keep the worm on 🐟
Smart, I'm stealing that tip for sure.
I’ve only caught angel fish with fish bites but I’m still a believer!
Liking the series so far bud! I saw where someone else mentioned it but Josh Taylor of Salty Scales has done some reviews on some of the Piscifun stuff. I have the torrent bait cast very smooth great for lures
Just found this channel keep it I just subscribed

I've bought one of those reels and have trouble with the bail prematurely flipping closed.
Those little ones sure keeps ya busy! KEEP'EM TITE!
Yes, yes they do
Just getting to watch the series here, but looks like shrimp bites alone work! Haha
I have piscifun viper, flame, and 2 steel feel hard to beat Especially for the price
What size circle hooks were you using?
So how did you like that rod and reel setup? I’ve been curious if the piscifun combo was actually worth how cheap they are
looking for the new clam fish bites. Heading to l
florida next month and looking to buy some
What size rods do you typically use
I always have good luck with the fish bites in shrimp and crab flavor. I caught the Red in my profile with shrimp fish bites
Used fish bites only during my vacation on Dauphin Island. Caught lots of whiting, lady fish and very few hardheads👎.
Awesome video yet again brother and did see this bait in walmart now I'll have to try it lmao. Thank you
Super catch and superb show
What beach are you on buddy ? I’ll be at PCB in 5 days !!! Gonna do a lot of surf fishing myself
Great experiment and a good video.

Daiwa Laguna rods are a mainstay in my arsenal.
Great information. Next time I'll check it out when I go to Wal-Mart. Do you run into this issue at other stores?
Does the Fishbites flavor really matter in the surf
Nice not having to fool with regular bait.
Do you cut up the fishbites?
You and Fishbites Rock.
Lol thanks man!
Question do fish bites work for fresh water also
Never tried!
Fishbites are my go to bait they work great 👍🏼
Are u fishing at Dauphin island.....
Where are u fishing at...🖐🏽🖐🏽😀😀😀
Went this past Saturday with just fish bites and we caught over 50 Whiting, 3 Gaftops, stingray and a few hard heads.....good luck the rest of the week
Thats awesome!
I wonder how good this would work in Hawaii, what exactly is sand flea?
Where do you fish at
Earl Tucker orange beach Alabama
east coast we call whiting Virginia mullet
I used the blood worms flavor, an caught 4 different species in the outer banks. My boy likes fish bites cause skates for some reason don't bite .
Ayyyy man hood job
Yo bama are you working the jig or just letting it sit for color? Lol
Very good 👍 . Like
what size hook
What is that yellow marshmallow thing above the bead? And I really like your channel, you seem like a good guy, and I'm going to try lowering my surf fishing gear, setup for catching Moby Dick down to 10 lbs test and size 6 circle hook, good tip!
It’s a float. It’s for color attraction for the fish. And you should, you will have a lot of fun in the process!
Fun day.
I like the pisufun reels
Where can I find these baits?
Fishbites.com
Bama Beach Bum thanks also those pliers where did u get those? I love the videos thanks man!
How do you like that H2O express rod?
Love it! Great rod for the price point
Can you tell us where, and when you are filming? Just so we can know what fish are biting, where at, at what time of year.
I gotta make ya work for it a little! Lol
@@BamaBeachBum ...HA HA! Yeah... Not doin it!
Welp, as you know, I’ve used Piscifun and really like their reels haha. I’m torn between getting a Spartan first or The Honor like the one my dad showed you at the house.
I like the Spartan so far. I’ll find out how it holds up against salt and sand pretty quick...lol
Bama Beach Bum we’ve put the Honor through it’s paces and it’s held up pretty well. Be interesting to see how the Spartan and Honor compare
Pissafun reel? Sounds like a kink flick.
I caught a whiting before but that's called a sea mullet.
The closed caption is hilarious
What size hooks were these on?
Sweet!
no fish bites in south africa
"The Pink" looks like EZ Shrimp - Am I right triple B?
