Each of these sights of the far away corners of the cosmos was captured thanks to the lenses of the Hubble telescope conquering these amazing distances.
My little tribute to Carl Sagan!

The Universe is a beautiful thing to look at and admire, but at same time it makes me feel so scared too. The more I know and discover about it, the more it frightens me.

For some reason I get this overwhelming sense of joy, sadness , beauty confusion and mystery. We live in a wired environment , so magical to the eyes. And the size of space makes me feel like I'm just bacteria on a floating ball of water. We practically don't even exist compared to size of stars. Very relaxing music . 2 thumbs up

Bravo ! Beautiful music to go with the astounding pictures. The majesty of it all. Many enlightened people believe that when one dies his or her soul passes is drawn into the universe to be one with God, and that's where the near death experiencers see all the many different beautiful shades of colours which they have never seen on Earth before.

Many folks ask me: "if God had a profession, what would it be?" I tell them he is an artist. His artistic designs go unmatched. He created the Earth with all it's beauty, established a state of being beyond comprehension, produced human life which has unimaginable power, and fabricated this astonishing universe with all it's glory, vastness, and glamor. What a gift we have been blessed with. Nothing in our existance can match to the glory and beauty of God's works, his love, his passion.

that really gives u a sense of space.. it only takes light to travel from the moon about a second and we know how long it takes to travel there. it makes sci~fi as romantic as we can imagine but can't explore it in the physical.. even if we built craft that could travel at the speed of light.. in what direction, make a wrong choice and u could be traveling for generations before finding something to land on. plus nasa colour code these images for data.. we can't see the nebular with human eyes

    Gorgeous beyond words

What is striking is that even at this mega scale, the size and shapes of galaxies are definitive. There is nothing random about it. There are a lot of symmetries, that stretches out for light years in every direction. So there is order in the universe.

  • @Relaxicity

It actually does, and can't do any differently. The key is how far away some of these objects really are. Although we consider what we see as instantly happening, light actually takes some time to get from one place to another. The further away you look, the longer ago it took place. If you look at the sun, you see what it looked like 8 minutes ago. Look at the polar star, that's 400 years ago. For some distant galaxies you see how they were before the earth was formed. That's how far they are!

The Hubble telescope in fact is by itself a satelite. That means it is in orbit, it circles around the earth, so high that we can say it is in space. This allows it to take sharper pictures from far distances, because there is no air in front of its lens, like there would be on earth. It circles around the earth and uses it's incredible zoom lens to look into space. So, it doesn't actually travel to the places you can see on these pictures.

I'm not a real expert, but I do believe some of the colors are shown just as they are, the light that we do see. Hey, just look at the sky on a clear night, when you can see the milky way. There's lots of deep blue and some other colors too, then. I've looked at the stars from a lodge in the Serengeti, when there is no light around to disturb the sight. An amazing experience.

You are right. The James Webb Telescope is currently being built and should be launched around 2018. When it will be in orbit, it will be much higher than the Hubble telescope, about 3000 times as high. It will be able to look deeper into space than Hubble.
The Webb telescope will focus on infra red light, where Hubble combines this with visual light. This means it will be looking behind many of the things we now see on the Hubble photographs. That will be cool, but it could be less photogenic.

It was created (by hand) in Adobe Premiere Pro. I use an old version, version 7. I'm still looking around for some slide show program that has the freedom and functionality to do what I want. But it'll probably always look the best adjusting each bit's timing and movement by hand.
