I'm 90 % through and I don't want it to end. I love everything about this story, the setting, the characters, the diversity, the races, all of it. Cosy vibes, low stakes, wholesome, just fun.

I'm thrilled that you liked this book. I kept circling it at the store, picking it up and setting it down, picking it up to read the flap, setting it down, excuses why I shouldn't get it until my husband insisted we buy it so I could read it. It's in my tbr pile next to my computer right now and I'm very much looking forward to getting to it.

I loved this book because it was exactly what I needed to read at the time 🥰 the conflict was present but in a distant and lower stakes way, the world building feels homey yet otherworldly- it’s all easily digestible. I was so tired of book recs being poorly labeled smut so the wholesome affection between the characters was a lovely chance of pace. And yes, Caz was a personal favorite and was so funny 🖤

Yess! Sarah Beth Durst is one of my favorite authors and I’m so happy so many people are now getting to know her. Have you read her stand alone fantasies? They are really different from one another and really great. I feel like she is always trying to do something a little bit different from what’s the “norm” in the genre. I read the Bone Maker this year, slower than her other books, but made me think a lot about the consequences of being the chosen ones and the burden of having to safe the world. Her latest YA book is also great.

I haven't watched the video because I'm planning to read the book after I'm done with the Faithful and the Fallen. However, I wanted to thank you for bringing this author to my attention. I got this and Race the Sands based on your videos. I also wanted to say I don't watch a lot of booktube since I'm still stuck in old-school ways but you are a breath of fresh air and you articulate your views on books so well. I also love the cadence of your voice which makes all the videos a joy to listen to when I'm on my commute! Excited to read this cozy romance and please keep up the great work 💕

Hey 👋🏾👋🏾 I usually do not read cozy fantasy books, but the cover of this book drew me in. Loved Kaz and Peep! This book helped to clear my sci-fi/ fantasy mind fog. It's been a long time since I actually "enjoyed" a book. My reads are usually thrilling, mystical, mind blowing or exciting...this book brought me back to pure fantasy enjoyment in a cute hometown kinda way with Fae, mystical beings, magic and humanistic connections.

I’ve been really enjoying the book, I love the nature focused setting and the talking spider plant. The only problem I’m having is the extremely short dialogue from Larran is making me so frustrated. And she gave him the tree remedy and he barely even reacted to that which just felt so weird because he was just saying how much he cares about the island and I’m still waiting for him to like mention to her that he used it or bring it up but he still hasn’t so I’m just so confused and frustrated 😂 I know that’s so random but I just can’t find anyone else who also noticed this

@@surpriseitsus9622 I'm not commenting on quality. It may be that many of these authors were better suited for urban fantasy or they were only writing epic fantasy because it was selling at the time. But seriously take a look at how many authors known for urban fantasy in 2005-2015 wrote epic fantasy before. Patricia Briggs is another big one.
