Its actually pretty easy to jump in after someone else in this cockpit. There is a Huuuuuge amount of space between your legs and wheel. My friend has this rig and he is 5'8" and I am 6'4". I had no issues driving after him for a few hours without any modification whatsoever. This is by far the most Rigid Portable Sim Cockpit on the market. And portable is a massive thing in most sim racers list of desired features. Great review as usual and thanks for all the info, I am definitely
Thank you so much for the review. I received mine this past weekend. I'm excited to finally be a true sim racer with GT 7 out today (on my birthday of all days :) I agree with your take about the adjustability. I am constantly loosening screws and retighting it when switching between my wife, brothers, friends, and myself. It is a nice looking and functioning cockpit overall. Love how light it is as well.
Hey Abel, do you find that when switching between users, it’s usually enough to just adjust the main extension (the distance between the front part and back part) or do you feel like you have to also adjust the pedals and the seat? I’m thinking maybe it would be possible to just get thumb screws for the main extension, that way you wouldn’t at least need tools.
@@crkvend the pedal tray has a lot of adjustments which makes it easier to adjust to a range of heights. I am 5’9 and my wife is 5’0. When we switch that’s all I have to adjust. It took us a bit to set it up. But once we found the right combinations, it’s become easier. It’s is a bit annoying though particularly if you are switching back and forth. But we usually play for 3-5 hours stints. So it’s not too bad.
I think the part of the price is the actual movability of the cockpit. I think it adds to the price tag, and I value that a lot. I need to move it, I love your review - best cockpit reviews on the web. I will probably get this one, as it doesn't weight much, it's really sturdy and it's movable. EDIT: I got it and love it. I also got the shifter/e-brake mount (I emailed them, shop didn't have that at the time) and I mounted DD pro, CSL load cell kit and both the shifter and e-brake.
@@matrilas Nah, I sent an email inquiring the holder and the dude made a purchase request with the items I wanted (Trophy and the holder) and that was it.
great review. I do think this targets a unique market - the need for a solid and movable sim solution. I play sim with the main family TV and would appericate the movability when I need to watch TV instead.
Your comments about time consuming adjustments when other people drive saved me from buying this. It makes it tough to get in and out of too. I like exposing others to the experience. I also like that you named several other models for me to consider. Well done, and I thank you.!
Besides its limitations I really like the design. I was a big fan of the Playseat Challenge, since the seat construction was surprisingly stable, everlasting and comfortable (more comfy than my later SimLab Bucket seat).
The first thing I thought when I saw the geometry of the cockpit was "this has so much potential to become foldable". Thank you for the unbiased review.
It makes you wonder why they didn't just put a break in the top half of the seat to get it to fold down. Ever been in a C3 Corvette? The seat folds half way up your back..
Got it 2nd hand a year ago and its a great cockpit, if you are a casual racer that does not swap around drivers and don't have a room just equipped for racing ;-) Fits perfect for me 1,85m (75kg) I can sit in it for hours. It is very sturdy and might have some tiny tiny flex in it but it does not bother you at all when driving. I've got it in my living room and can swap it easily to the corner after being done racing. As it is very light & compact as Karl mentions in the video.
As always, a very honest and detailed Review. Thank you for that. I‘m eagerly awaiting my DD Pro to finally be delivered and to attach it to my Playseat Trophy. Keep up your excellent Work Karl, a truly Trustworthy Channel ✌️
I seen your vids and ended up getting into racing i got my 1st starter rig nd wheel , i ended up buying a gt lite and t248 im totaly in love with racing games now im suprised by how much i like it and how immersive it is after 4 weeks with my setup im sold on sim racing and look forward to getting a solid rig a DD wheel , the one downfall is when the kids are here i cant ever get on it as they all take over it lol great vid as always love your reviews
It's a good-looking unit. I went for an NLR GT Lite a few years ago, before this was around. If it had been, I would have bought it. One modification I would make, if I were in the market, would be to brace the wheel deck at the front with a horizontally-mounted bar, to which I'd fasten 2 uprights which would then go down the the frame (which is running front to rear). I think this mod might be fiddly, but it would enable the use of a mid-range DD drive. Great review, Karl. EDIT: I've just bought a Logi G Pro wheel and an NLR GT Elite aluminium profile rig.
Really great and detailed review. New Sub! Wasn't aware of this Rig until today. I have had a PlaySeat Challenge for around 6 Years + now due to lack of space and thought this would be a great option until I heard the price of it which shocked me. It looks really great in design and great to move around the flat but perhaps on a good sale it may tempt me.
Haha Karl your a hero man, your reviews alone have saved me sooo much money in not making errors in getting my rig setup and I've got to say everything you've said was exactly as is and I'm now very happy with my setup and purchasing the right rig for my loadcell pedals because let's be honest pedals and having a rig that can support your pedal setup to me is number one. Then also I do have a DD so had to get a pretty solid rig and the one I purchased was exactly as you reviewed
@@zonqu7474 I did ..Had it for a little while now and more then happy with it, rigid and easy to move out of the way when done..same footprint as the challenge but 100x more sturdy
I think the price is spot on, not expensive, it adds value since it is light weight, and easy to move away, I dont see any alternatives, with same build quality, that is easy to move away. I will buy it for my dd pro and CSL load cell kit.
Great review. I didnt know about the Omega. I am looking to that one now. Great observation about the shared seat issue. Options are always good for reviews.
Thanks Karl! It's a shame price is 600€ 😂 I would've payed up to 400€ for this as I don't have much space, but I think the playseat challenge will have to do until I find a better & cheaper cockpit.
I got one recently, I like that you don't have have a pole in the middle like the older models. You have to move the GT-DD-Pro, CSL pedals, one hole more to the middle for both pedals. (tip, attach pedals and wires on the pedal plate separate from the stand.)
Every time I install these pedals I forget to plug in the RJ12 cable first... and every time I have to mess about trying to plug it in afterwards which is nigh on impossible! lol
I just bought this and it is a very nice bit of kit but you are paying a good 50% or more over the odds for the low weight and form factor. I had the money to burn and there wasn’t anything quite comparable on the market so ultimately decided it was worth it but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to someone else. I’ve already come up with a pretty nice home brew shifter mount out of some left over plywood in the garage, there’s enough spare bolt hole mounting points that’s it’s pretty easy to work out, I’m sure there will be something on the market soon.
This is a great concept. I like the compact design The price is the only problem. I hope some manufacturer will make a better one and make it much cheaper
Great review! Im looking to upgrade from my gt lite after i get a simagic alpha mini and was looking at this. The price is very offputting, here in the states i can get a full 8020 rig for pretty much the same exact price which offers much more adjustability. If this was a few hundred bucks cheaper I'd definitely consider it. Keep up the great content Karl, always appreciate the honest and straight to the point reviews!
First of all, I love your reviews on all the Simracing stuff! Thanks a lot! I‘m considering buying this rig too. The only thing that keeps me from ordering is that I cannot guess how high and adjustable the wheel will sit on the plate and how it will fit my height. I‘m about 174cm. How is the adjustability and comfort if you would tilt the wheel a bit downwards? Is the seating and driving position still okay-ish? How angled would I have to put the screen then to make sense? I would attach a Fanatec CSW2.5 with the BMW GT2 wheel.
Thanks for the review. I bought mine a few days ago, and I must say that even if the build quality is excellent, in mine is missing one of the two side supports to attach the steering wheel plate. In addition, the screws are counted and now I'm forced to buy (and therefore waste more time not foreseen) those to fix the pedal set and the steering wheel. For now, I wouldn't buy it again .. very struggle to get to the full setup
Talking about playseat, that evolution that I ordered for my kid on a next day delivery (Amazon) apparently means the middle of April. I got the slider the next day even though I bought them as a package deal.
That's annoying. I know lots of manufacturers are having issues due to Covid. I ordered the GT DD pro and part of my order comes in soon but the other stuff comes in late March - early April (hopefully) because of parts shortages.
Great review Karl, and thanks for addressing my question regarding if it can easily be stored in two pieces. What surprises me the most about this is that it seems impossible to adjust the seat height (or the wheel height) in any way. The wheel definitely looked to be to high up for you, and if there is no way to change the “ass to wheel” ratio (™️), that seems like a pretty big drawback. Edit: According to their website, seat height is adjustable, tho they provide no info whatsoever, nor a download of the manual.
No worries mate, it was a good question to ask! lol "ass to wheel ratio" and I like that you trade marked it too! But no it's not adjustable, if you extend where that front and back halves join then that also raises or lowers the front of the seat as it's angled, but thats it.
@@DARKNADAL but that would then also change the form of the seat as well. The velcro strap is pretty narrow and it would only raise that part of the seat, not the whole “butt area”. The Playseat Challenge also has the same issue.
Nice review, thanks. I’m heavily thinking about getting one of these. I need something with a pretty small profile that can easily be moved out of the way or to another room. Price is tough to swallow but none of the Omega Titan, F-GT, GTTrack seem to be as portable
The steering wheel plate can be turned upside down. Then the position behind the steering wheel is very good. In the case of the fanatec dd pro steering wheel, there is enough space for mounting.
Thanks for the review. I just ordered the sim lab GT1 evo. Can’t wait to set up my DD Pro on a more rigid cockpit. The price is about the same even after the shopping costs. Which are very high.
The GT1 EVO is a decent small ally profile cockpit but too much money for us in the UK, I don't know where you are in the world but to the UK with the cheapest seat they offer it's £699 plus shipping. A comparable Sim Hound cockpit is about £530 with a seat delivered.
I compared this and the titan. Honestly, I would use this, due to the much easier storabilty AND it has less flex in the pedal base, which DID somewhat show up in the software with a fluctuation of 1-3% depending on the set strenght of the pedals. I also found it weirdly more comfortable than the titan. I would also argue that size adjustability isn't a problem. It has a lot more upwards leg space and my my 1.83m body was able to drive it at the same setting my 1.60m wife used. I sadly was never able to compare it to the ART
Very good price. I found one used in my area for $400. Just be careful because the seats are known to rip underneath the velcro where your hips are. That's what I missed when I purchased mines. Luckly I was able to find a seamtress to beef up that area and now it's as good as new.
Thanks mate, all my video's are pretty much on the fly, I put a little thought into what I'm doing but no script or anything like that. Yeah we definitely need to be relaxed if we can right now, been a rough couple of years for the whole world and Russia has just made it a whole lot worse! :(
I’m really eyeing the Logitech branded version of this, although the Titan if you add your own seat definitely seems like the better option in terms of adjustability and price
I think the price point is just about the mobility of the cockpit. The titan is a best buy for sure but if you want a more practical one and movable this one will do the work obviously
I almost want this cockpit just because it looks so good. It’s pretty pricey over here in Aus. Around $1000! The GT Omega Titan is at least $200 cheaper. I still want the Trophy though.
thank you for your review it made my desicion easyer wich one i shoud get. got mine today and it turned me crazy there was a littel peace missing where you have to screw the weelholder on now i have to wait some more days to get a complet one its mind blowing i just wanted to finaly play whit my fanatec dd and have to wait even more days to test it out properly. sorry for if my english is bad. its not my mother language. greetings from the small swiss.
Thank you, love your reviews, very thorough. I just got the Playseat Trophy for my Fanatec DD Pro as well. I am only 162cm tall and I have to mount the wheel base upside down. I do have one question, how do you mount the pedal base? I am only zip tiding it to in place right now. Thanks!
Use it since 2 months in combination with the Asetek Forte Bundle and I'm actually happy with. No feelable flex, looks good, can easy be moved. Had do drill new holes for the base + pedals, but this is ok. One MAJOR issue I have tough... The lenght adjustment clamping is too weak. Under heavy breaking, the seat will lengthen itself, which is really annoying. Seems the only solution to this is, to drill a hole and stuck a bolt/screw throgh to fix it.
I got the gttrack new for 477 Euro. And honestly I wouldnt buy it again. I got massive backpain with it. Needee to buy back chushions to make it usable. Stability ist fine though
@@Martin-vn9fr thanks for the heads up, luckily i got some spare cushions if need be, i see what you mean seat seems a bit narrow! Still when sitting it is quite comfortable :)
Appreciate the vid 👍 added to amazon wishlist to wait for the price to drop 20% (500 abit steep for this unit imo) Now any ideas how to hide this from the missus?
I have a feeling we'll see a drop in price too, sales will not be strong as they are... unless they can keep stock when everyone else is out of course! Paint it the same colour as your walls or carpet and it will blend right in mate, she'll never notice! ;)
Hello there, many thanks for the review , a couple of follow-up questions : 1. Its lightness makes it interesting for usage / storage, any way to store it vertically? 2. How comfortable is it compared to a play seat challenge ?
I've got the Playseat Challenge. Although it's a great cockpit, one issue I have is that the wheel deck height is too high. It's at your upper chest to neck level, instead of a more comfortable mid chest level. It seems the Playseat Trophy is exactly the same. Not sure why they wouldn't make it lower to be more comfortable, from the looks of it there is plenty of clearance between your knees and the wheel base. Tired of driving with my arms so high and the wheel straight. I'd prefer a lower wheel titled up slightly.
Have the exact same issue. I’ve had the Challenge for 3 weeks and looking at the Trophy now as it’s on sale here but the wheel height has me worried. It’s still a lot of money to get it home, build it and then be unhappy with the wheel height. The Challenge wheel height actually hurts my back quick a bit. Thinking maybe I’ll just stay with the Challenge and upgrade it to be a bit more rigid with an angled pedal tray that I can bolt my loadcells too. Only thing that I can’t help but think is by the time I pay for that I’m $200 off the Trophy, which will always be more rigid with more compatible with a wider variety of wheels/pedals.
@@jameslsimsports8514 I’ve looked at the indigo lime stuff but also like the Lowdown Shifter pedal plate and pedal tray clips. Here in Australia the Lowdown stuff is a little more exxy than the Lime stuff but not by much. Just hard thinking about spending $200 on all these aftermarket parts for the Challenge and then not being that far off having just bought the Trophy. If you needed to fold it for storage, then that makes sense. I’ve only had the Challenge for 3 weeks and have given up folding it already and just slide it to the side, so the Trophy could work for me with the space I have. Have you found out how high the Trophy seat is? Id like to know height from seat to wheel deck. Upgraded Challenge Vs Trophy at about $200 difference 🤷🏻♂️
@@rover1374 I"m not sure about the height from the seat to the wheel deck, but I imagine it's the same as the Challenge, or very close. Karl Gosling commented it was a bit high for him. I hear you on the mods, I've bought all the Indigo Lime stuff, installed it all. Even installed bass shakers on it. I've probably dropped a cool $200 modding the thing. That being said, I'm more then likely going to buy the Trophy, it's not perfect but I like the design and comfort it offers.
@@jameslsimsports8514 Yeah I saw his comments. The Trophy’s plate height is 60cm and the Challenge is about 70cm. The seat must be a bit lower if height relative to the wheel is similar. How long have you had your challenge for and how do you find your mods? I’m leaning towards buying one too, it is such a cool sleek design.I like the Trak TR8 cockpit as well but that is again twice the cost of the trophy. I think the Trophy would probably future proof any gear I’d buy.
Really solid looking rig but here in Turkey it’s $1400 US and 500 for the challenge. Anything else you’re really going to take the hit. Nice review though, thanks
Great review mate! i am saving for the Trophy as we speak. I currently have the Playseat Evolution and the at 6.3" the centre bar is a pain in the nads
Was thinking about getting this seat and then while investigating I found the Trak Racer TRX (Not out yet I know). Would be curious to get a review like this on that seat when it is available.
Just bought one of these with the adjustable shifter mount and everything i am very exited for the rigidity of these against my playseat challenge. I hated the bouncing moves the challenge rig did under load when you've got a proper fanatec wheelbase attached to it so i'm looking forward to playing with the trophy instead.
Sorry one more question, what is the size of the M6 bolts that you need to mount the dd pro on the trophy wheel base? Would a 12mm do or something like 15mm? Cheers
Really helpful review, thanks. Been looking at this as an upgrade to my Playseat Challenge, as I want to get a DD wheel base in place of my Thrustmaster belt driven wheel. I need to be able to pick it up and carry it out my back door into the garage though, it's only about 12-15ft, but is that feasible? Given what you've said, if you're in my shoes would you try and reinforce the Challenge or grab one of these (preferably when on sale or 2nd hand).
Just an update on US pricing since this video was made a while ago. I just ordered one of these through Amazon and they are currently selling this black version for $599 and the Logitech one for $597. I priced out a Omega Titan with seat at $640.91. So depending on where you are in the world this may actually be slightly cheaper than a Titan. Having said that, it's still expensive and the only reason I ordered the Trophy was to take advantage of Amazon store card financing. Anyway, you have the best reviews. Always honest, always thorough, always neutral.
Thanks for your reviews I’m looking for a race rig have limited space but would like rig with little or no flex will keep watching your channel for ideas 👍
For the minimalist it's perfect. Great to tuck away. All in one that's where you save the money. Great for tucking away. It's aimed for that market I believe.
Hi i just bought the playseat trophy and i have a small question regarding the fanatec csl pedals mounting. The bolts at the back of the csl are written M8 but they dont fit in the holes on the plate. What did you do make the holes bigger or use M6 ? Thank you
I don't think the length would be an issue as I couldn't really reach the pedals at full extension, but it does sink you in the seat a bit so your legs probably wouldn't be very straight?
Thats tricky , the PST is much more solid than the ART but the seat doesn't adjust as easily... I'd get a Titan if it were me, or if you don't care about the seat adjustment and love the look then go for the PST... up to you mate! :)
@@KarlGosling thanks Karl. The Titan has been out of stock for a while. Only the ART available. :( Not looking to spend what the PST costs as upgrading from a PS Challenge. How bad is the Flex on the ART if you don't have your workshop/DIY skills? Lol
Someone needs to come up with a racing seat that is adjustable for little kids and adults. This one is almost there with the adjustable pedal distance. But it looks like the steering wheel is fixed at a high position. Right now we're using the Playseat Challenge and putting a box underneath the pedals to raise it up higher when our kids are racing. People are not going to buy multiple racing rigs when people of different ages want to play, or when there is a party and everyone wants to try it out.
I used one of these for about 20 mins and my back was already hurting afterwards, there is no lumbar support on the seat which is the bug problem with this thing. The rest of it is actually ok, but the seat is really bad and like he said you can't really adjust it that much. If you are going to do a lot of hours on this I reckon it would end up giving you back problems. And some people are saying it's ok with a lumbar pillow, but you shouldn't have to F around with a bodgy pillow for this much money. Other setups are the same or similar price but much better.
Do you think its light & small enough with the DD installed for one person to carry it from the front room of their home to the basement for storage down a flight of stairs? If not I'd probably look at the sim hound and set up a permanent spot in the basement (pretty dry but just a tad chilly).
Hi Karl great to find your channel, what seat would you recommend for me,im 6 foot 2 and constantly get a bad back from my play seat I've got now,but for a long term seat that's as comfy as realistic as possible what would you go for? Thanks 😀
@@TrakracerAu I have looked into the RS6 because my wheelbase is the 8nm Fanatec CSL DD, and V3 pedals. Frenchie Speed Cockpit wheelbase mount is between the leg. I'm looking into the FS3 wheel stand to replace it.
Enjoy watching your reviews, I’m torn between cockpits. Which one would you go for out the following that fit my budget. The Sim Hound Profile (you reviewed the Scooby), GT Omega Titan, GT Omega Art, will be used with Thrustmaster TGT. Or do you have another option? Im thinking Titan just as like look of tubular frame.
Great Review! I get mine in April with 8nm. My first wheel. Will a GT Omega Classic Wheel Stand work for that? Or while the force feedback move the wheel stand with its 8nm?
All wheel stands move a little as you are not fixed to them, but the GTO Classic is the least sturdy of the bunch, I would recommend the Apex at least.
This rig had to much potential and playseat should have spent more time fine tuning it. To start with, the weight is a big plus considering how light it is. Also, the fact that it’s comes flat packed and easy to move around. But I think they should have worked out how to adjust the seats easier and quicker making it possible for driver change. £400 would have been a sweet spot for this IMO
I like the cut of your gib mate..I bought a PS challenge based on your review. Just feel like your honest. (Challenge was bought for space saving) feel like that would do sameish job, but not for that kinda money. You are spot on my dude..saying that..if you are offloading on the cheap..I’m first in line. And if you wanna talk about those Jamos (literally my first speaker I laid out cash…I’m now high end) I would love to xx

I‘m 183cm too, and I can assure you it’s perfect. The Trophy is a Masterpiece. I have one with a DD Pro attached with Load Cells and that thing is seriously build for eSports. Very solid high quality build and super rigid.
I just set up the Playseat Trophy and it is a good seat. But It must have been my off day today. It took a while to put together in comparison to my Playseat evolution. I applied the Thrustmaster TR series wheel to it...word of advice... Make sure you have the wheel base on the way you require for space and only have the front two bolts on so as you can flip the plate up. This makes it easier to attach the wheel to the base. I had attached all 4 support screws and it was a challenge to attach the wheel with 2 bolts from below. So I started over and flipped forward the plate. As for adjustment to fit someone else, this is definitely NOT a seat for you and your 5 year old. Stick with the evolution or the better yet functional Revolution. I kind of wish I bought the revolution. My main issue with the evolution is the steering column is close proximity to the pedals and you have to wrap your foot around to press on the brake. Fo some games, I just set the brake to the far left. But the Revolution has feature its support bar coming from the base of the seat as opposed to blocking the pedals. That is ideal. I chose the Trophy mainly for the purpose of leg / foot freedom but I sacrificed the ability to change the seat easily to fit others. So the Trophy is good so far but I feel I should have ordered the Revolution.
Thanks so much for this review Karl! How is the GT Omega Titan to move around compared to the Playseat Trophy for someone that would need to put it aside once finished racing? Is the Titan much heavier or more of a pain to move about?
The titan is very heavy but I've added castors in place of the 6 feet it has to make it more manageable. Also in my opinion the titan is a much better cockpit
I added larger caster rubber wheels to protect the wooden floor from markings and moving the Titan is as easy as pushing a large trolley. The only think I dislike about the omega is the fact it cannot provide much adjustability for the wheel itself. Otherwise, tremendously solid.
Could be mate?! Soap and water would also do a good job of this too should you happen to have been working on something greasy and dirty immediately before wanting to assemble your new PST! lol
The back is adjustable which is ok, does the back allow it to be folded forward? Kind of like the playseat evolutions can be folded down ? Just curious before I buy as that would actually be beneficial in my case in being able to stand the rig up when not in use.

@@molotov4445 yes i have gone for the 8nm Version, I think 8nm makes more sense with a Direct Drive Wheel
I seen your vids and ended up getting into racing i got my 1st starter rig nd wheel , i ended up buying a gt lite and t248 im totaly in love with racing games now im suprised by how much i like it and how immersive it is after 4 weeks with my setup im sold on sim racing and look forward to getting a solid rig a DD wheel , the one downfall is when the kids are here i cant ever get on it as they all take over it lol great vid as always love your reviews
lol Typical parental problems there mate, there's just me, the cat and the missus so I'm good most of the time! :)
Yeah I'd wait for a price drop mate.
Really happy to hear my waffle is helpful mate, thanks! lol
Did u buy the Playseat trophy?
@@zonqu7474 I did ..Had it for a little while now and more then happy with it, rigid and easy to move out of the way when done..same footprint as the challenge but 100x more sturdy
I think the price is spot on, not expensive, it adds value since it is light weight, and easy to move away, I dont see any alternatives, with same build quality, that is easy to move away. I will buy it for my dd pro and CSL load cell kit.
Great review. I didnt know about the Omega. I am looking to that one now. Great observation about the shared seat issue. Options are always good for reviews.
Glad it was helpful!
Oh man you’ve done soo many videos. Testing a bunch of different seats.
SUBSCRIBED.
Thanks Karl! It's a shame price is 600€ 😂
I would've payed up to 400€ for this as I don't have much space, but I think the playseat challenge will have to do until I find a better & cheaper cockpit.
How is it after a year? Wondering how the rigidity holds up and comfort
@@Barry.R Still as good as the day I bought it! I do use it pretty regularly but no where near as much as some so do bear that in mind.
Was the wheel height ok? I have heard it is a little high?
Krusty The Clown called, he wants his gloves back. Another great review Karl.
This is a great concept. I like the compact design
The price is the only problem. I hope some manufacturer will make a better one and make it much cheaper
Trak Racer TR8 pro looks like this for maybe less ? bought mine tr8 for like 700 but that was almost 2 years ago
Price is far too strong isn't it!
Very impressive and nice looking. Perfect for the CSL DD
I love the way it looks, very clean and smooth.
It was expensive but I'm very happy with mine, if a woman buys shoes for 600 nobody says anything :)
.. or a brand new iPhone!
@@charalampospournaris6000 any phone, iphone is pretty good value compared to android today

Talking about playseat, that evolution that I ordered for my kid on a next day delivery (Amazon) apparently means the middle of April. I got the slider the next day even though I bought them as a package deal.
That's annoying. I know lots of manufacturers are having issues due to Covid. I ordered the GT DD pro and part of my order comes in soon but the other stuff comes in late March - early April (hopefully) because of parts shortages.
lol Oh fucking hell! Yeah stock issues just seem to still very much be a thing for everybody.
You can pretty much adjust seat height with the velcro straps which run under the seating area, not clear in the manual though
@@DARKNADAL but that would then also change the form of the seat as well. The velcro strap is pretty narrow and it would only raise that part of the seat, not the whole “butt area”.
The Playseat Challenge also has the same issue.
"It does smell nice. If that's your thing?" Haha I know a few seat sniffers 😂😂😂
Nice review, thanks. I’m heavily thinking about getting one of these. I need something with a pretty small profile that can easily be moved out of the way or to another room. Price is tough to swallow but none of the Omega Titan, F-GT, GTTrack seem to be as portable
This is definitely the easiest to move around.
In Switzerland the price ranges from 440$ to 600$ brand new for both the black and red versions.
The steering wheel plate can be turned upside down. Then the position behind the steering wheel is very good. In the case of the fanatec dd pro steering wheel, there is enough space for mounting.
Karl...can I ask for you're link to the market place you use to sell on please.
Usually eBay or Facebook Market mate.
im looking to find myself a sim rig and the reviews you make always help and are straight to the point one take. keep it up mate
Cheers mate! :)
It's a decent enough cockpit, just expensive... or at least it was at launch, I've not checked prices recently.
I just picked one of these up for £420 to replace my Challenge. Would that be considered a good deal for this?
Great detailed breakdown. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Found one used with a shifter plate for $450!!!
Very good price. I found one used in my area for $400. Just be careful because the seats are known to rip underneath the velcro where your hips are. That's what I missed when I purchased mines. Luckly I was able to find a seamtress to beef up that area and now it's as good as new.
i love the relaxed semi"on the fly" way you review things keep up the great work!! nice break from the fucking war
Thanks mate, all my video's are pretty much on the fly, I put a little thought into what I'm doing but no script or anything like that.
Yeah we definitely need to be relaxed if we can right now, been a rough couple of years for the whole world and Russia has just made it a whole lot worse! :(
Excellent review! Love your content mate have steered me right on many an occasion. Thank you👍🏻
Glad you find my waffle helpful mate thanks! :)
Hi I have the Playseat Trophy as well and I don’t know where to install the loose velcro strap.
Great review! I think I'll go for the GT Omega Prime Lite instead for more adjustability, or even a Trak Racer TR80 Lite.
I would mate yes.

Thanks!
I can't remember exactly (I don't have the Trophy now) but I just bolted them down.
@@KarlGosling Thanks
Use it since 2 months in combination with the Asetek Forte Bundle and I'm actually happy with. No feelable flex, looks good, can easy be moved. Had do drill new holes for the base + pedals, but this is ok.
One MAJOR issue I have tough... The lenght adjustment clamping is too weak. Under heavy breaking, the seat will lengthen itself, which is really annoying. Seems the only solution to this is, to drill a hole and stuck a bolt/screw throgh to fix it.
I'm getting mine in a couple of days! I can't wait!
Enjoy mate! :)

Appreciate the vid 👍 added to amazon wishlist to wait for the price to drop 20% (500 abit steep for this unit imo)
Now any ideas how to hide this from the missus?
I have a feeling we'll see a drop in price too, sales will not be strong as they are... unless they can keep stock when everyone else is out of course!
Paint it the same colour as your walls or carpet and it will blend right in mate, she'll never notice! ;)
Thanks for the review bro giving up my playseat challenge i love the fact this one lightweight
Hello there, many thanks for the review , a couple of follow-up questions : 1. Its lightness makes it interesting for usage / storage, any way to store it vertically? 2. How comfortable is it compared to a play seat challenge ?
If you can get it to balance upright yes, still a reasonable footprint though as the seat doesn't fold or move.
Way more comfortable IMO.
I agree mate, needs to be lower really.
Hi Karl, can you show a close up of how the fanatec pedals are bolted on to the playseat trophy? What size screws do you use? Thanks in advance.
I no longer have it mate.
Really solid looking rig but here in Turkey it’s $1400 US and 500 for the challenge. Anything else you’re really going to take the hit. Nice review though, thanks
Nice review. Just one question, can the playseat be adjusted to fit at 1,75 ? Or is the steering wheel too high?
Great review mate!
i am saving for the Trophy as we speak. I currently have the Playseat Evolution and the at 6.3" the centre bar is a pain in the nads
Quite literally I imagine! lol
@@KarlGosling not wrong ha ha
Good video as always, I am stuck between ordering this and the GT Titan atm.
Titan is a more solid and adjustable option.
How much flex is in the shifter mount?
How do you like it with your direct drive?
@Karl Gosling that black belt like thing, where is it used in the build? Thanks for the video!
Sorry one more question, what is the size of the M6 bolts that you need to mount the dd pro on the trophy wheel base? Would a 12mm do or something like 15mm? Cheers
I don't actually know, the manual doesn't show it in use?!
I think 12-15mm would be fine.
Depending on what DD base (some a VERY heavy) yes it would be fine, this is a very light cockpit.
@@KarlGosling most likely to be the CSL DD (8nm) with the Mclaren GT rim and probably CSL load cell pedals.
Compared to a titan with caster wheels ? What your thought ?
Just an update on US pricing since this video was made a while ago. I just ordered one of these through Amazon and they are currently selling this black version for $599 and the Logitech one for $597. I priced out a Omega Titan with seat at $640.91. So depending on where you are in the world this may actually be slightly cheaper than a Titan. Having said that, it's still expensive and the only reason I ordered the Trophy was to take advantage of Amazon store card financing. Anyway, you have the best reviews. Always honest, always thorough, always neutral.
Thanks mate! Yes and going this route sacrifices all the adjustability of the Titan too, fine for some but important to others.
Thank you
Looks like a more refined copy of the Fanatec CSL Seat. How's the wobble/roll? I remember people complaining about that with the fanatec.
None that I noticed mate.
I'd be interested in hearing a review from your 6'4 friend, I'm 6'3 and would like my legs as straight as possible due to injury.
I don't think the length would be an issue as I couldn't really reach the pedals at full extension, but it does sink you in the seat a bit so your legs probably wouldn't be very straight?
@@KarlGosling cheers

Between the GT Omega Art with RS XL seat and the Playseat Trophy what you you chose?
Thats tricky , the PST is much more solid than the ART but the seat doesn't adjust as easily... I'd get a Titan if it were me, or if you don't care about the seat adjustment and love the look then go for the PST... up to you mate! :)
@@KarlGosling thanks Karl. The Titan has been out of stock for a while. Only the ART available. :( Not looking to spend what the PST costs as upgrading from a PS Challenge. How bad is the Flex on the ART if you don't have your workshop/DIY skills? Lol
@@KarlGosling ps. I have the Logitech G29 wheel & pedals
Another great review. And I agree, there's no way I'll be paying that much for it.
Thanks Ivan.
Hi Karl, how did you mount the DD Pro on the plate? Are you still using the table clamp? Great video!!
Just bolted straight on mate, no clamp.
Nicer than the titan.. You crazy.... Im putting led lights under mine tonight... Gunna look sick!!
Do you think its light & small enough with the DD installed for one person to carry it from the front room of their home to the basement for storage down a flight of stairs?
If not I'd probably look at the sim hound and set up a permanent spot in the basement (pretty dry but just a tad chilly).
Not easly but if you're fairly strong you could, it would be awkward.
its almost in the Trak Racer TR80 price range (included a GT Seat).. at least here in Denmark..
GT all day, thank you for the solid review
Hi Karl great to find your channel, what seat would you recommend for me,im 6 foot 2 and constantly get a bad back from my play seat I've got now,but for a long term seat that's as comfy as realistic as possible what would you go for? Thanks 😀
I'd get the XL RS mate, thats what I use having had all three options from GTO.

Have you checked our Trak Racer? Also great value

Sim Hound is the most adjustable and fairly rigid, Titan is the most solid and nice looking, ART is the cheapest but has the most flex and wobble.
@@KarlGosling thanks Karl, I might continue to wait for Titan to come back in stock in that case was my fav choice.
@karl Gosling thanks used your discount code and ordered a Titan 👌
Hey mate, how did you manage to mount the pedals. I’ve got the same pedals you have used in this video but I’m struggling
I didn’t even open the white packet - I assumed it was a cleaning cloth. White gloves - are they for your butler when he assembles it for you? 😂
Totally agree on all points mate.

Can you plz do a review on the original next level racing wheel stand?
Hey man, how tall are you. I am 183 cm tall. is the system ok for the height?
Greetings from Germany
I'm 186cm so yes perfect! :)
I‘m 183cm too, and I can assure you it’s perfect. The Trophy is a Masterpiece. I have one with a DD Pro attached with Load Cells and that thing is seriously build for eSports. Very solid high quality build and super rigid.
I think just wondering Maybe you could put some 40x40 Profile on the rig so u could mount a different seat to the Playseat Trophy
Not easily no mate.
Was the wheel height ok? I have heard it is a little high?
Thanks so much for this review Karl! How is the GT Omega Titan to move around compared to the Playseat Trophy for someone that would need to put it aside once finished racing? Is the Titan much heavier or more of a pain to move about?
The titan is very heavy but I've added castors in place of the 6 feet it has to make it more manageable. Also in my opinion the titan is a much better cockpit
Yeah add some casters and you'll be fine, the addition of more material and a proper seat make it much heavier than this.
I added larger caster rubber wheels to protect the wooden floor from markings and moving the Titan is as easy as pushing a large trolley. The only think I dislike about the omega is the fact it cannot provide much adjustability for the wheel itself. Otherwise, tremendously solid.
The gloves are so you don't get the frame itself greasy or dirty from your hands I'd assume.
Could be mate?! Soap and water would also do a good job of this too should you happen to have been working on something greasy and dirty immediately before wanting to assemble your new PST! lol
@@KarlGosling true I wonder if it's for people who's hands are always clammy then?
The back is adjustable which is ok, does the back allow it to be folded forward? Kind of like the playseat evolutions can be folded down ?
Just curious before I buy as that would actually be beneficial in my case in being able to stand the rig up when not in use.
No mate it does't, at least not easily.
