Totally agree about Standish being a top tier zone at sunshine. My first day skiing here had extremely poor visibility in the two high alpines, leaving only Standish with visible advanced terrain offerings. That led to one of the most fun storm days I’ve ever skied running lap after lap down all those short butt-clenching chutes. Such a blast!
Great video. As a season pass holder I agree with everything you said. The lift infrastructure is the best in Banff. Sunshine’s only mistake was WaWa and not making it a high speed quad. The carpet actually slows down the chair on busy days as people can’t figure it out and fall etc. I do wish they installed the second lift on GoatsEye before replacing Angel but I understand Angel needed an upgrade. On windy days that chair was very unreliable and kept stopping.
There are many spots along the access road that people will park, and the resort runs a shuttle bus. I think Sunshine also offers a bus service from the Banff train station. A good thing about the parking lot's small size: it makes you get to the mountain super early for a good spot. The gondola usually opens an hour and a half earlier than all the other lifts, so I usually head on up it as soon as it opens, and chill in the lodge until Angel opens.
The trail map makes the gondola look like it is two separate gondolas. Is it just a midstation at Goat's Eye or do you have to get off of the gondola and walk a short distance to a separate (unconnected) gondola to continue up to the base of Lookout Mtn?
does this man literally ski every single trail, chute, run, groomer at the report to attain this knowledge?! dream job
Pretty much 😉

sunshine village main downside is the parking lot gets filled up since its small.
True, but you get there on time, you're guaranteed the mountain can only get so busy

They added another 100 spots this year so the resort is doing their best to add spots. I just get there by 8:30 and I’m in the first 10 rows.
I appreciate the deep dive on runs, but vids from at least some of the runs would make this vid awesome.
Wish we had the footage to do that 😭

Nope, it's connected. You can stay in your cabin.
@@SRGSkiing The trail map poorly depicts this fact. Thanks for the info.
