Great video! Just an FYI, I run in Alaska and pretty much leave my interaxle locked all winter long. You can run 65-70 no problem. Just don’t flip the switch while your tires are spinning out but other then that lock at any speed and use it whenever traction is questionable 🤙🏽
Thanks for posting this. I am going back to OTR and being issued a 2024 579. It's the only one in the fleet and nobody so far has been able to answer me about the inverter. Day cab drivers SMH don't even know what that word means 😂 Very informative and I appreciate you sharing this vid. ☮️
Great video i have orientation on the 30th. So the truck has power even when its off. Is there a generator u have to turn off after turning the truck off in order for things like the tv, ac/heater, and microwave to work ?
Do you find the alpicool sufficient for cooking and eating over the road? To run the TV, xbox etc do you have to idle? It was 100 here in TX today, do you find yourself having to idle some nights to keep cool and does idling count against you?
The alpicool is a fantastic refridgerated unit. It keeps food fresh. You don't need to idle to run the tv or Xbox. I keep a fan in the truck to stay cool, so I never really need to idle. Idling for too long does count against you. You would need to idle for hours for it to have a serious impact.
Great video bro, one question, I live in New Jersey, do you guys have a lot of runs in and/or out of New Jersey, and do they make you go in the ports to get containers.? I’ve drove reefer on and off for 15 years and thinking about getting into flatbed… keep up the great work my guy 🫡
Thanks for the compliments! Tmc has accounts in NJ and most of the eastern seaboard. They pick up from the ports, but to my knowledge, tmc does not move containers.
It's not difficult to pass, as long as you're paying attention to the instructional videos and actually reading the questions thoroughly. Some of the questions are worded in a way that you can get wrong if you just try to breeze through the test.
The inverter is primarily used for the bunk heater. To keep cool, a lot of guys will idle or run a fan. Check the link below for the fan that I use. amzn.to/3Ysrz9Y
Some breakdowns require repairs that would take too long to sit and wait for. If that happens, tmc may offer you a different truck to drive if they have spares available. Also, some trucks get retired from the fleet once they've driven a certain amount of miles, and you can get a newer truck that way.
@@EruditeTrucker nice thx for the response I have load securement test tomorrow then start week 2 on Monday everything going great so far. Really do appreciate all the videos on what to expect, helped me tremendously mentally before arriving here. Be safe driver 👊🏻
Yes, they do. If you decide to apply and would like my referral, just email me at eruditetrucker@gmail.com before you fill out any application. I can help to expedite the process.
Your concerns about the digital dash panel and liking the “mechanical” gauges better because if a fuse blows you lose the dash….. well that dash you have there is entirely electronic. Those gauges display information being given to them by the ECU and Body Controllers. It’s no better than a full digital display.
You are a very intelligent young man it is very refreshing
Thank you. 🧔🏿👍🏿

This video was very helpful thanks brother 🙏 safe travels!!
Safe travels to you as well! 🚛
Excellent!
I used to drive for TMC back 99-01, good company but don't go to the yard with a dirty truck

Glad I could help!
Those two buttons were the hill assist and lane departure warning button lol. Nice truck though. I see TMC around alot
Thanks, I always wondered about those buttons. 😅
Heck yeah

*turn on..sorry
The truck still has power when the engine is off. The trucks utilize an inverter to power the television and electrical outlets.
@@EruditeTrucker ok cool great 👌🏾 do u recommend an app or specific video i can study to start studying for the pre trip ?
I don't, though there are plenty of pretrip tutorials on youtube that are good starters.
Gauges lol I'm a new driver they gave me a 2023 cool truck hate the digital dash

Can I put a 42” tv inside bro ? I start at TMC on Monday man big gamer
Tmc's trucks already have tvs installed in them.
@@EruditeTrucker want a bigger tv than that one bro
They won't let you take their TV down. They don't let drivers modify the trucks.
I heard you have to take a math test and/or another test in orientation. What do i need to study or refresh on for those two test?
Nothing in particular. It's basic math. If you know how to use a calculator and read the questions thoroughly, you'll be fine.
Gd content bro I’m thinking about coming to tmc .I have question for you is the classroom work and securement hard to pass?

How is the AC in the sleeper? Can the inverter keep it cool overnight without idling?
Nope you have to idle

Five different trucks ? Can I ask why so many swaps ?

The truck doesn't come with a refrigerator?
Unfortunately, it does not.
