    Hey nice video. I'm in the process of getting my CDL and was looking into TMC. That ratchet your using to tighten the straps looks sweet. If I do flatbedding im definitly going to have to get myself one of those.

    Hey, how's it going?!
    I'd rather sleep in the truck than have to room with a stranger. What if he's a total a-hole? Or farts and snores all night? No thanks! 😆

      I noticed you mentioned the dates as being 6/4/23. Has it been that long since you last made a video? Man, time flies. Hopefully it won't be that long in between videos next time. Your videos are one of the more enjoyable and informative of all the youtubers I watch. Have a great day! Stay safe!@@EruditeTrucker

    Thank you. I’m new to the industry and I’m trying to make the best decision for myself and family. I was told by the company recruiter, that I would be home on weekends. Basically, I would be home Friday night and I would leave early Monday morning., Is that true? Also, with the economy and the factors you mentioned, what is a good 1st year income estimation?

    • @EruditeTrucker
      @EruditeTrucker  5 месяцев назад

      You'll get home regularly on Fridays. If you're efficient with your time, it won't be difficult. For your first year, you should be able to ballpark around 65 - 70k, depending on what part of the country that you live in. Living in places like Florida is not good for making money unless you stay out on the road for at least two weeks at a time

    Do you know if the Columbia, SC terminal has maintenance or would someone have to bring their truck all the way to Des Moines to service and wash it?

    • @EruditeTrucker
      @EruditeTrucker  11 месяцев назад +1

      TMC has in-house mechanics at each of their terminals. They also have a list of authorized truck wash locations where you are allowed to get the truck washed.

  • @darryleast9511

    I received an offer from TMC. Are they a good company to work for? Are you making the money they said you would make in your first year? I was told $88k.

    • @EruditeTrucker
      @EruditeTrucker  5 месяцев назад

      TMC has been solid during my time there. The $88k might be a bit high for a first year driver unless you have prior flatbedding experience. It also depends on what part of the country that you run, how long you stay out on the road, the nation's current economy, etc.

    • @EruditeTrucker
      @EruditeTrucker  6 месяцев назад +1

      They teach you the basics. They haul so many different commodities that they can't show you everything during training. They'll provide you with the core securement items that you'll need for the job, like chains, straps, tarps, edge protectors, etc.

    Why no choke straps? The bulkhead was a good idea, but a choke strap would help with a backup for preventing forward movement, and if i recall a choke strap is required on barstock loads. At least it was when I worked for them

    • @EruditeTrucker
      @EruditeTrucker  11 месяцев назад +1

      I guess that hollow pipe didn't require choke straps. I called the safety department and double-checked before I secured and confirmed that the load only needed straps over the top. 🤷🏿

      I'm not sure about the appearance standards on hair. I don't recall having seen any tmc driver's with long hair since I've been around. I've seen a few people with small tattoos. Regarding racism, I can only speak for my personal experience, and I haven't been disrespected by anyone during my tenure with the company.
