Tyler is an admirable artist in the way he describes loneliness here honestly. This song really speaks volumes of how some people only call or text you when they need something from you, showing how they actually view and value you as a person. It only hit me now but i can say this song literally is the story of so many folks social lives. Mine included.

The nostalgia of sitting at home bored as hell, attempting to text my crush at the time, (fails, but it's whatever), and opening RUclips to see that Tyler dropped a song that would eventually end up on the album that changed my entire mindset on music just came back to me. The smooth bridges and flows on this album really did save my life, thass on my mama.
Still one of my favorite Tyler songs of all time. The instrumentals, the lyrics, the melody, beat, and especially the metaphors and message conveying what loneliness truly feels like. It's phenomenal.
yo, who else here grew up in middle and highschool with tyler, and now you 18-21 and this shit still hits hard. its like no matter how much i mature in music, tyler and earl will always have a spot in my heart
I couldn't agree more, the whole group got me through so much of my teen years and I still jam them from time to time. don't think I will ever stop, like every one says he's a lyrical genius - same as Earl.
Well it's awesome cause they have grown with us, like Earl is probably the best rapper in the game right now. Then Tyler releases this amazing album and it's like holy shit this is still Tyler but he's grown.
I feel like this album is so deep, it’s not like I can explain what Tyler is talking abt at all but I feel like it’s just so deep, everytime I listen it’s just like I catch on things that I never notice that are really deep
It’s crazy, being a reliable middle child I 100 percent understand the point of this song. Even though you might be the most responsible in the room doesn’t mean other people are gonna give you the love you need, in face it’s the opposite. To everyone whose doing a lot but feels like their unrecognized just know I have love you and so would most people if they knew you. MUCH LOVE
1:45 “Chirp Chirp, Chirp Chirp” I can’t explain it but when Frank sings that line, idk man I feel warm, I feel safe. Like everything’s gonna be alright, anyone else or just me lmao
Kevin Layton lmao I was thinking that a 911operater should put it as their ringtone but then I thought what's the point cause you cant even listen to the song cause you gotta answer right away cause you don't know what kind of emergency they have 😂😂😂
Y’all that say “oh new tyler fans will never how good old tyler was.” My first album I heard from him was Igor, and I went back to his old stuff (Bastard Goblin and Wolf) and I liked those as much FB and Igor
Yeah!! I've only really started listening to him (around a month and a half) and I discovered him through igor. But I can still appreciate the older albums! Wolf is my fav :D
I really hate when people gatekeeper artists. It’s like saying someone can’t have a favorite song, anyone can enjoy someone’s work, even if it’s their most recent! If you want to only listen to Igor, go ahead!
This song is so beautiful, It's so nostalgic in melody, but I can't explain why, It's like the song has this tint of darkness and sorrow over it, this same tint was present in who dat boy I presume the whole album will follow up on this effect, It's irresistable
I don't know It's like It's music from whole other reality, something of a past that doesn't exist in this timeline, is the only way to describe it, like maybe that feeling when you wanted things to go a certain way in the past, but they didnt,
Strange Media the effect you're alluding to probably comes from the heavy influence that oldies age RnB (70s-80s) has on this song (it even samples the Gap Band as others have noted). The dark tinge comes of course from thematic elements in the lyrics, but the subtle manipulation of that older sound with drum beats and chord shifts alien to the source material go a long way in achieving this final product.
Tyler your music for since I was in middle School has turned my sadness into a peaceful sadness that I can handle. Thank you man, you make depression bearable. Thank you so much man
@@Dezdirectz well, in this song he's basically talking about how he uses money and his ego to cope with his own loneliness, and CMIYGL is basically him bragging the whole time, which is interesting considering Igor came right before it and it was all about a failed relationship. And throughout CMIYGL, Tyler also hints, in the midst of all the bragging, about yet another relationship that went wrong. He only really expands on it in WILSHIRE, but you can get glimpses about what was going on in songs like CORSO and I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE. Here are some of the lyrics that made me link this song to his behavior in the newest album: 911/Mr. Lonely: I know you sick of me talkin' 'bout cars But what the fuck else do you want from me? That is the only thing keepin' me company Purchase some things until I'm annoyed These items is fillin' the void Been fillin' it for so long I don't even know if it's shit I enjoy CORSO: Don't give a fuck, you left my heart twerkin' Movin', losin', grip on my doings Eyes is cryin' on the jet, cruisin 'Bout to spend millions just to fill voids up Drama, I need you, can you turn the noise up? // Turn the fuckin' noise up, ah, my heart broken Remember I was rich so I bought me some new emotions And a new boat 'cause I rather cry in the ocean SWEET/ I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE: The fuck do he got that I don't got a lot of? There go my ego again, that's the problem The fuck you expect? I go get what I want I want you to say you picked me with your voice I'm twenty-five up, but I can't buy your choice MASSA: Yeah, I purchase more wheels when I feel like I'm third-wheelin' // Everyone I ever loved had to be loved in the shadows Tug-o-war with X and Y felt like a custody battle Felt like the boat goin' down, it felt like I'm missin' a paddle Might buy that crib in Seattle, covered in grass, lichen, gravel (Yeah) It come with two boats and cattle, I'm livin' sweet ain't you heard? and obviously WILSHIRE.

@J. P No, the song's about loneliness and they're expressing that they relate.

MUCH LOVE

The Lone Wanderer “fire” lmaoooo
Is it so Fire to start a flame in a heart?
This song is so beautiful, It's so nostalgic in melody, but I can't explain why, It's like the song has this tint of darkness and sorrow over it, this same tint was present in who dat boy I presume the whole album will follow up on this effect, It's irresistable
I don't know It's like It's music from whole other reality, something of a past that doesn't exist in this timeline, is the only way to describe it, like maybe that feeling when you wanted things to go a certain way in the past, but they didnt,
btw the first transition of this song is probably so awesome to me because it's nostalgic of Mother or Earthbound Zero,
Strange Media the effect you're alluding to probably comes from the heavy influence that oldies age RnB (70s-80s) has on this song (it even samples the Gap Band as others have noted). The dark tinge comes of course from thematic elements in the lyrics, but the subtle manipulation of that older sound with drum beats and chord shifts alien to the source material go a long way in achieving this final product.
Strange Media also because it has GAP band type of beat somewhere in the song
+Alexander Victoria "outstanding " it's crazy how that song is in my recommendations. 😂😂😂

@@Dezdirectz
well, in this song he's basically talking about how he uses money and his ego to cope with his own loneliness, and CMIYGL is basically him bragging the whole time, which is interesting considering Igor came right before it and it was all about a failed relationship. Here are some of the lyrics that made me link this song to his behavior in the newest album:
911/Mr. Lonely:
I know you sick of me talkin' 'bout cars
But what the fuck else do you want from me?
That is the only thing keepin' me company
Purchase some things until I'm annoyed
These items is fillin' the void
Been fillin' it for so long
I don't even know if it's shit I enjoy
CORSO:
Don't give a fuck, you left my heart twerkin'
Movin', losin', grip on my doings
Eyes is cryin' on the jet, cruisin
'Bout to spend millions just to fill voids up
Drama, I need you, can you turn the noise up?
//
Turn the fuckin' noise up, ah, my heart broken
Remember I was rich so I bought me some new emotions
And a new boat 'cause I rather cry in the ocean
SWEET/ I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE:
The fuck do he got that I don't got a lot of?
There go my ego again, that's the problem
The fuck you expect? I go get what I want
I want you to say you picked me with your voice
I'm twenty-five up, but I can't buy your choice
MASSA:
Yeah, I purchase more wheels when I feel like I'm third-wheelin'
//
Everyone I ever loved had to be loved in the shadows
Tug-o-war with X and Y felt like a custody battle
Felt like the boat goin' down, it felt like I'm missin' a paddle
Might buy that crib in Seattle, covered in grass, lichen, gravel (Yeah)
It come with two boats and cattle, I'm livin' sweet ain't you heard?
and obviously WILSHIRE.
