I now know how complicated things were, she was going to this college for her masters and I decided to join the military. We had decided on taking a break because we weren’t going to around each other, but since getting in contact with her again she thinks that break was a mistake. She was borderline on being homeless since her mother took money from her betrayed her trust. She confided in a dude I was aquatinted with but she knew before, he abused her. I had a feeling something was wrong leading up to me shipping out and tried to talk to her. Now I can talk to her the way we kinda use to but the trust for me is just gone. Life happens and I’m truly remorseful, she was a victim of abuse before so she was mentally vulnerable. Unfortunately I can’t bring myself to build that bridge back up again, I was angry thinking that used and betrayed myself but it’s so much more complicated…

I can honestly say I've listened to I Thought You Wanted To Dance close to 100 times already. That background hum is everything. The lyrics are top notch. The beat switch was amazing. The whole story and connection to the earlier parts of the song are great. Def think this is my fav song of his now.

But this man is a musical genius, capturing those expressions 100% accurately from the sappy, sugary, slow beginning, to the moody & trance like bridges that transition into a passionate and painful ending. Exactly what i just went through all of 2019-2021, & this dude conveyed that entire life experience in just 9 minutes. I now know how complicated things were, she was going to this college for her masters and I decided to join the military. We had decided on taking a break because we weren’t going to around each other, but since getting in contact with her again she thinks that break was a mistake.
She wrote letters to me that I never received, and she thought I never wanted anything to do with her again. She was borderline on being homeless since her mother took money from her betrayed her trust. She confided in a dude I was aquatinted with but she knew before, he abused her. I had a feeling something was wrong leading up to me shipping out and tried to talk to her. Now I can talk to her the way we kinda use to but the trust for me is just gone.
Life happens and I’m truly remorseful, she was a victim of abuse before so she was mentally vulnerable. Unfortunately I can’t bring myself to build that bridge back up again, I was angry thinking that used and betrayed myself but it’s so much more complicated…

I can honestly say I've listened to I Thought You Wanted To Dance close to 100 times already. That background hum is everything. The lyrics are top notch. The beat switch was amazing. The whole story and connection to the earlier parts of the song are great.

SWEET is one of the few songs that were outtakes from Flower Boy. It seems a version of it was already far in production before it was cut, since Tyler filmed himself listening to the "sugar... you're so sweet" chorus on Instagram. That same part was included as a snippet at the end of I Ain't Got Time. Interesting how Tyler held on to this song for so long, and only now finished it instead of leaving it as a mysterious SFFB outtake we never got....

Edit: I love both parts of this song but I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE has such a good feeling to it, it gives me tropical vibes, just the beat or whatever you want to call it, and just the lyrics together put me in another world, usually I can’t always watch a video that’s over 3 or 4 maybe 5 minutes if it’s a song and just sit there and not do anything, but when it comes to Tyler songs, I could just sleep to his songs, when I first listened to this song on Spotify I didn’t listen to the whole thing, but I was playing Tyler’s songs for my best friend and that was the first time listening to the full song. I absolutely love Tyler’s songs, and so does my best friend! When I was playing ARE WE STILL FRIENDS? for him he was genuinely shocked, and even though I’ve heard it before, so was I! Music has changed my life a bit, it’s given me a somewhat different perspective on life, a better perspective! Knowing that there are people as good as Tyler out there shocks me, Tyler’s talent is literally amazing. IGOR is my personal favorite out of all his albums, I love the story it tells, Tyler creates these little, no, BIG stories with just a few albums, the wolf trilogy is amazing, I don’t know every little detail about it, and I haven’t listened to ALL of the songs, but Wolf is definitely the best out of the three Wolf trilogy album. I’ve had many obsessions, really only 2 of them were obsessions with a person, those people were Melanie Martinez, and Albert aka Flamingo, I would always talk about Albert, my “best” friend would always tell me to shut up, I get it, I was annoying, but that’s a bit rude to say to your best friend. I don’t talk about Tyler that much, but…I kinda hope I do, I got a few of my friends to like Albert so I can maybe get some of my friends to like Tyler!
