- As somebody who has been listening to A7X since the early thousands, I thought it would be fun to remix songs from 'Life is But a Dream' in the style of City of Evil/ Self Titled/ Nightmare.
This one was very tricky. I adore the original track, and struggled to disassociate from it when re-harmonising it. This remix has had many iterations, but the result here is something I'm really happy with.
At times here, I departed a little from the 'If A7X sounded like 2005' rule but I think it made for a more interesting arrangement.

Vocals were isolated using AI, Drums are GetGood Invasion, Guitars played through Neural DSP Archetype Plini with GGD Cali Cabs, and Bass is played through Sansamp and Darkglass B7K.

Very interesting chord choices for the chorus. Sounds like the intro to Beast and the Harlot.
Took a lot of experimenting to land on that chorus, I found that simple worked best 🤘

not really a fan of the other ones but i actually really like this one. i felt like the others were just throwing heavy guitar and drums over the song whereas this one seems to flow with the song a lot better

I love the way you recreate the intro, but overall this doesn't sound like Avenged Sevenfold in 2000's
0:30 The chords and riffs are terrible, and it doesn't sound like A7x, at all. They never use a 7-string guitar in the 2000s.
0:44 The vocals are "As it may (E E E) As it may (E F F)" Then you play the B chord over the F vocals or whatever you play, it ruins the whole context and the emotional shifting.
The reason why those guys put the same riffs and rhythm (E G F G# G F E) over the ascending "E F G G# A B C D" melodies on "As it may" is to support the context of the lyrics and the emotions where did they go as the song continues.
0:51 Again, You ruin the context of this chord progression, you should realize the context between the vocal melodies and the chord progression of this chorus section; why did they put A, AMaj7, A7, and D minor, Eminor, and F. Why did they compose the notes and how does the emotional shifting between major and minor works of this chorus.
*"Days are fine and come on time, but* (A, AMaj7, A7)"
These descending chromatic melodies show the emotion of the guy in this song as if everything is fine. A Happy mood.

Now the minor progression is doing the emotional shifting from happy to sad, even depressing.
1:37 Now the root chord is in E minor (As a 6th note from the G major) out of nowhere, but the guitar solo is sick af.
Again, I don't mind how you arrange the song into the old A7x, even if it's too far. 😅
