Definitely a cool ship! You're totally right about Lego in the 90's: it was so diverse and original! I miss those days; I don't really care about licenced sets.
Totally agree! And also it seems that, unless you go to the creator or pro sets, the basic sets (like the city sets) these days are really poor in brick count so less creativity is possible then back in the days... I also love the catalogues from the 80's and 90's with their elaborate Lego scenes (the main reason why I started watching this channel 😉)
I was never around for lego pirates originally, but my dad gave his lego pirate things to me when I was 7, and I gotta say, I LOVE it, 14 and I still play with em.
I was also 10 years old when i first started lego building! Lego star wars snowspeeder. I remember I had trouble building it and so i had a friend of mine from a pageant I was in, build it and it was finished that evening, then literally about an hour later later it fell and broke hahahaha You never forget your first!
I actually finally pulled the trigger on this set and got it for 230 Euros in good condition, tho I will have to switch out some white pieces, as they are a little yellowed. The sails are amazing condition tho, which makes me really happy. An awesome ship. The finest ever made by LEGO
I love classic pirate and castle teams. The skulls eye skonner was the only ship that i did not get wen i was a kid because i did not get good grades at skool that year looooll. Now being a AFOL i bougt the pieces and made one for me. I t realy looks good those modifications that you made, never had that idea. By the way, i think that lego creator has the pirate ship, it also be nice to do the little harbour and join the colection.
Nice MOC. Try build stairs betwen gap of deck and bridge. I love Pirate sets and Barracuda Bay is my first new Lego set that I bought after 25 years. Next is 31109 and I'm in it again. :)
The modification is great. I also like how the Stern relatively speaking get's lower with the main deck rising. Less a cartoon style exageration. And don't think badly about the doors being below main deck level; many old ships actually had a step in the deck towards the rear.
Great set to reacquire. I can't wait to see what you end up doing with these pirate ships... some naval battle scenes? I kind of miss your underwater scene. I think too many city builders don't focus enough on the water areas, not just harbour and beaches. Thanks so much Alex :)
Mine has been broken down into bags since 2012, and now that I’m moving again in December I can’t wait to rebuild it and put it alongside the Pirates of Barracuda Bay!
Are you going to pick up the new creator 3in1 pirate ship, would love to see you do a review for that one. I know it just came out but I haven't seen anyone really talk about that one. Great modification by the way.
Looks great, but if you want to fix up the back cabin go for it. Plus you could make it to were the pirates can access the small boat and if you don't like it you can always remake the original
Great review and video Alex. If I'm honest your modifications make the ship look a bit squashed and odd. They back part definitely needs raising if you want it to look more elegant.
Nice ships. I have 6290 Red Beard Runner, the 2001 re-release of the original 6289 from 1996. Very tempted to get 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay, just waiting for the next double VIP points event.
if you are like me and do not like the idea of modifying the orginal build, there is a way to build a deck that just sits on the three high cannon balls. You just have to be careful and make sure you leave a 1x1 opeaning along the side to accomdate the little polls. Credit to TrikBrix for that idea. Mine is a little simple, do to want of parts, but it has a cargo hole in the deck, is somewhat remicesnet of the Black Sea's Barracuda. There are also railings around that opeaning, and the railings along the side of the ship have an opeaning too so you can still mount the plank.
Getting older sets is never cheap. I got my hands an a palace cinima last month for $260 box included sealed 2nd hand and did not build the set until just this past week. 14 hours and 30 minutes over 2 days I finished the set and had to place a parts order for a few broken parts that I could not replace with my own parts. Also 2 parts from my perisan resturant went missing and so since I was doing parts orders for the cinima I ordered parts for the Perisan Resturant also. Just glad to have my top 3 favorite modulars of all time in my city. 4 if you count the diner that I got in march and will be getting for Christmas. Number 5 is pet shop hope to find that next year. Also is there something with getting hooked on legos when you turn 10. I got my first real lego sets when I turned 10. Had 2 duplo boxes when I was under 10 but got my first real legos when I turned 10. Might try to find 1 of my first lego sets somewhere 2nd hand to relive the set. Since these past few months I have been getting a lot of retired sets. Got the 2008 police HQ set in june the 2012 lego Batman dynamic duo funhouse escape set in july and the palace cinima all over this summer. So I might save until closer to my birthday in December and try to get a 2nd hand copy of set 3221 the lego truck 1 of my first lego sets.
I understand the love of these old Pirates sets, but they have been so far eclipsed in design by the newer sets that I have zero desire to acquire them.
Cool ship, good addition to your city, which is awesome! Any advice for someone just starting their city? What sets to get first, or any discontinued sets to get before they are way too expensive? Also how many avengers tower sets did it take to build yours? Stay safe and keep building!
Are canons original? I'm struggle to recall if fuse hole was sticking out. Will double check sometime when I visit my parents where this ships now resides :)
We are glad to take the blame that you had to purchase the second pirate ship. If you could extend your table in your harbor I would put an area where you place all of the pirate ships. Call it a parade of pirate ships for the public to see. If you would do that, the ships would a lot safer from Jimmy?😂😂 the lego destroyer as you call him in one video.
400 bucks..its a steal bro!!! Good value!!
Congratulations 🎉 on 72K Alex!🥳 Hope your channel will grow the same as your LEGO city.
Thanks! So far so good.

You have some beautiful ships! Destiny’s bounty was a wonderful build.
If only my parents had not given it away. Got this my for christmas too, i was sooo exited. It was my favorite toy ever. Glad for u u got it again
The modification is great. It makes it more unique. Great job!
Edit: LOL when I got to the part where you showed that there were 2 barracuda ships!

man those Catalogs bring back the 5 year old in me! I used to always have those on my hand like a kid nowadays had his phone in his hand
I like your Take on the Skull's Eye Schooner very much. ITS an awesome Ship!
Nice, I have been looking for pirates a lot lately
Hey Alex you should do some live builds??!!
Twist at the end when you revealed you bought another Pirates of Barracuda Bay was great. :)
Hi Alex I love your Pirates collection. i will send you mine very soon...
I love classic pirate and castle teams.
The skulls eye skonner was the only ship that i did not get wen i was a kid because i did not get good grades at skool that year looooll.

You did a great job with the modifications Alex. Now you have me wanting to go back and try and get all the pirate ships. Sigh
Nice MOC. Try build stairs betwen gap of deck and bridge.

Looks like this one was pieced together which might explain the different sail color and the differences in the bricks.
I got The Skull's Eye Schooner for Christmas back in 2019!
Looks great, but if you want to fix up the back cabin go for it. Plus you could make it to were the pirates can access the small boat and if you don't like it you can always remake the original
This is an awesome video !!!
this is great pirate ship lego ever made !

I like what you did with the schooner
I understand the love of these old Pirates sets, but they have been so far eclipsed in design by the newer sets that I have zero desire to acquire them.
Hope you compare it with the new one
Wow that is an amazing set! My question is how do you keep getting this awesome stuff? That is a super cool pirate ship.
Cool ship, good addition to your city, which is awesome! Any advice for someone just starting their city? What sets to get first, or any discontinued sets to get before they are way too expensive? Also how many avengers tower sets did it take to build yours? Stay safe and keep building!
I am also planning to buy another one!
Will you try to get the one with the blue strip sails? Sorry I don’t remember the name of the set!
Thats awsome modification
Hey! Firat commet. Relly like your videos! Goding to start my own Lego city soon
Nice Ships
The schooner is an epic pirate ship. Enjoy it!
Are canons original? I'm struggle to recall if fuse hole was sticking out. Will double check sometime when I visit my parents where this ships now resides :)
They are originals, but take a look at yours nonetheless.
Surprised you are leaving your somewhat fragile recent more costly purchase at floor level for all to touch! Hope it stays intact.
The modification is okay but... it makes the front seem out of place. The front needs extension or lifting to match the increase in height.
I think it looks fine, well in line with real ships; not every one having a raised forecastle
Best lego city on utube I think
I was desperate for this ship when I was little bit they discontinued it just before my birthday. I never got to own it :-(
I wanted this so bad when i was a kid but it was unaffordable in Hungary at the time. 30 years later its again unaffordable for me.
We are glad to take the blame that you had to purchase the second pirate ship. If you could extend your table in your harbor I would put an area where you place all of the pirate ships. You should send that tyco brick to BrickTsar
No I was trying to be the first love the videos have a great day everyone
Will you put this ship at the harbor or at the beach
Cardinal sin me laddie, walk the plank!
OK WOW I am going to need a bigger basement
oh what i would do to build one of those
15:31
Off course the schooner is shorter,,
the other one is a Galleon after all
Can you do a train update soon please
The mini fingers look so old.
Back when Lego looked like Legos
That's not "very old" I was 11 years old when that ship came out! Also its not vintage, its retro.
Top notch feedback! Thanks
Hi
Lego won't allow military sets, but they will allow pirates? Let's see, the military fights against evil, and pirates are pure evil. Okay Lego.
Hi
Hello
