My Mom almost killed my Dad after catching him in bed with a young girl while she was pregnant with me. She cut his femoral artery in his leg & he lost lots of blood. She didn't go to jail because back then if the other party said Don't Press Charges, they don't. My Dad knew he was in the wrong & didn't want her charged for nearly ending his pitiful life.

Not everyone's brain is wired the same way to process or have the bandwidth/capacity to work through tough life traumas as the next person would. The Harrison character was a real spot of balance on the show. It also alleviated some of the muling burden of the main character. The 'there for you whenever, wherever, however' was a needful element. The panache was wonderful too. It lost something with his absence. The team and loyalty of Olivia's squad was never the same. I hope that he gets some help. I'm sure some of what he said was true. However his ability to process and respond without damaging himself or anyone else is sorely lacking.

Is it because the dad's doesn't carry some of the weight? Most single moms I know cater to sons out of guilt of no dad & the sons are worthless. Reverse is true of the daughters to make them not depend on men etc extra hard on them. Speaking in general & few of MY friends.

I literally just finished his autobiography last night. His first wife Brandi was 24 and he was 19 when they got married. He didn't want to. He only married her because the church. His second wife did him dirty. He sleep with Brittany Spears, but because he wouldn't sleep with her a second time, she got him blackballed from certain jobs. He has been through things but he does need more therapy.

I wish Columbus could get well. I loved him in, "Stomp the Yard". That was my first intro to his work. I had forced myself to watch, "Cadillac Records" and boy was it good! I was sorry I took so long to watch it. He's had a lot of early childhood trauma. Extremely talented too. You don't work at the level he did in Cali unless you stand out. I heard no mention of him having to take dance classes, so he must've had natural dance talent. I think he and his mom needed to go to therapy together, to address issues behind his father's death. A scandal between he and Brittany? Columbus WILL bring the "smoke" if he feels he's being disrespected. As soon as you pull up, the devil is waiting to steal your blessings. Who else works 16 hour days? That's enough to make anybody crazed.

Didn't Robert Downey have drug issues? I think I remember that and look at him now. I think the difference is you have to reach a point of wanting to receive help. He seems to have excuses for his responses to others forever.

@@carbar3936 You totally misunderstood what I wrote. Columbus was affected by whatever at a young age and he didn't understand his feelings. As an adult, I still believe he doesn't quite understand his feelings. Therefore he acts out aggressively. Is he consciously aware that he's inflicting harm to someone? He might not be. There could be childhood triggers that still affect him to this day.
Look I'm not trying to justify the behavior but as we all heard there were childhood problems.
Black men don't seek mental help because of the stigma attached to it. They don't want to appear weak for getting help.
