In your talent tree on the lower left hand side, you can click on the down arrow and select starter build. Then you will be guided to select reasonable choices as you level up. These are good choices for now. Also, make sure that in your spec selection, you should take note as to which weapons you should equip. You will get drops that can be used in those other specs. Until you get to max level, you may not want to change specs. If not, sell them. If so, hold on to the highest ILVL pieces. Put them in the bank. Also, make sure to right click on green exclamation marks. Those are flight masters and you can only fly to points you where you have done that.
I recommend setting up 10 or so keybinds and assign the skills you find yourself using the most to them. It will greatly improve the felling of the play instead of using default keybind.
Glad u still enjoy it. Story wise it might get a little bit confusing at some point. Because the area u are questing right now is actually one of the newer expansions. ( They changed it, so new player get a fresh , more up to date leveling experience) Same will happen with the new expansion release. They will change it (as far is a know) to the current expansion. As i dont know your general experience, theres a lot of tips and tricks u can use. But i think thats something for the future as u get more comfortable with the game : )
@dildido gotcha, very good to know! I'm wondering how best to go about playing the older story lines. I'm sure I can find a guide on that somewhere though.
@@itszouty You can use 'Chromie time' to play the older story lines in the older zones. After getting your first character to max level you can create another one and select a timeline. The quest should automatically send you there If I am correct.
Honestly you should just play cata or era wow which is how the game was back in 2005. Right now a bunch of players have started over fresh on the server Deviant Delight. It’s way better for new players and the story will make a lot more sense. Modern wow doesn’t have a small beginning. You are dumped into the story as the hero of the alliance. Whereas in the older games it much more of a humble start.
Additionally. In modern wow the developers have made things like getting gear and money meaningless. They just want to rush you to end game as fast as possible.
Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely play it, at what point in time I'm unsure of. I'm thinking of just starting a classic character for fun, no reason not too that I can find. And then just play both? Really taking my time either way in order to soak it all in so yeah could be something I start here asap. I know I've enjoyed what I've played so far, while obviously being so new I don't know have an older wow experience to compare it too. Your input is very valued so thanks again!

Classic WoW is Slow and depending how old he is, Retail WoW will fit better for him.
