Yes! I was also at the Hartwick College Howie Mandel show on September 25th, 2010 and this song being played on a loop got a hilarious reaction. People boo'd, but occasionally forgot they were booing and cheered. I think the loop made them delirious. As for me I was just sitting there thoroughly enjoying the fact that everyone else was getting pissed off.

This was my father's favorite song. He used to play it on the ukulele. He would tune the uke with the intonation, "my dog has fleas" (you'll know what I mean if you've ever seen it done). Beautiful intonation by Larry Hooper, by the way. What a personality he had.
This was from a later period after Larry returned to the show after a long illness. He recorded this in 1952 with Lawrence for Coral records. That was said to have sold nearly a million. Does anybody have his ""Old Man River" from the 1960's ? Was just on the show a few times and not on a recording.
Howie shared this at his show in Rancho Mirage, CA at Agua Caliente on 3/19/2022. After the 3rd time it played, audience realized it was part of his act. I first thought, is he trying to get the audience to leave?! He explained later why he show it. Annoying, yet funny.
From 1969 to 1973,he went on hiatus from the show,due to heart health trouble.Also he continued until 1980 when his health began to fail & has departed the show for good.Sadly,he died on 6/10/1983 at he age of 65.
Howie's still using this loop to start the show -- saw him last night 2/13/09 in Morristown, NJ.......I couldn't remember Larry's name until the drive home...Told the wife its got to be on RUclips....and I was right!....Thanks to the poster of the video.....definately loses some of the hilarity without the audience reaction here @home....but it was a riot at the show...when would it end? teasingly lengthened after several loops....then REWOUND...HAHA
