Fun fact when sharks get curious they investigate by biting whatever they're curious about. That's actually part of the reason people get bit. The other part is you get mistaken for a seal
To be fair, they very often know that you're a human and won't taste good
@@deRNmEpRrMm yeah almost all the bites on humans are most of the time people being mistaken for seals they don't go out hunting humans they don't even react to our blood in the water
So in other words...
"thats a weird lookin seal.. ima take a bite"
sharks are very nosey they will see something and approach it. Most times they confuse humans (mostly surfers) of being seals
They nibble to get a sense of something sharks are honestly like puppies most of them love affection
And like anything else they’ll attack when threatened 😌 I love sharks so much cutest little babies on the planet

It's pretty cool how they use real shark mannerisms in this game. Like the black tips aren't aggressive until mind controlled and the bulls are aggressive period , like they are in real life. Beautiful game. BTW sand tigers are very real and cool looking sharks
The messed up the Moray eels a bit. They are rarely found swimming in the open, and are generally very passive. You usually find them hiding in openings under reefs and rocks, popping their heads out when they get curious.
Honestly they probably just chose eels as the surprise attack fish because lots of people find them scary/creepy to look at (thanks Mario 64)
@@justaweirdtree9645 Eels sometimes cruise around in between reefs, so while I agree they shouldn't be in the open, it makes sense for them to be moving around in a ship

Hey Indie. I'm a budding shark biologist, and I have to say that the renders of the sharks are awesome. I was able to identify each of the sharks well before it told you. And yes, sand tigers are real sharks. Also, Bull sharks are more aggressive, they rank in the top 5 for bites on humans, which is possibly why one attacked you outside of Kraken time. If the devs coded that in, hats off to them. To echo a few others on here, yeah it's a Volitan Lion fish.
Definitely want more. As someone that doesn’t play horror games but likes watching people play them, I do want to see what happens.

I love the detail to this game! The way the fish got scared and swam back into the coral was so cool! I would love to see IGP finish this game!!!
Small detail I noticed while watching, some of the sharks have little feeder fish attached to their stomachs like in real life. The fish are symbiotes that latch onto sharks and eat the parasites on the sharks teeth. I think its very cool how much attention to detail was put into this game.
Yeah, those are called remoras, and they're often seen with sharks, feeding on the scraps sharks leave behind from meals. Really amazing, how they have a symbiotic relationship with sharks.
Hell yeah we need more of this! Underwater horror is really the only kind that gets to me anymore.

@@akaiisuns5381 keyword was anymore. I played that when it came out and it terrified me haha but I also fell in love with the franchise. All horror doesn't spook me anymore because I'm so into it but ocean stuff still managed to make me feel things. I'm a bit of a thalassophobe, not a fan of the ocean and it's inhabitants. The poor visibility, our weakness in water, 360 degree vulnerability, the vastness and the silence which huge predators can swim, no thank you.
I don't think it's you tbh, I think most horror games in general have really shifted gears in recent years.
They focus a lot more on action gameplay where, if you don't like something, you can just shoot it. Older horror games largely focused on vulnerability, atmosphere, the unknown, etc. It seems to me that underwater horror games just happen to be the ones that are still more focused on those aspects.
@@ledumpsterfire6474 I agree to some degree, horror ain't what it used to be. But I've also grown up and was in the infantry since the og deadspace and all that so it just doesn't effect me. I don't get scared, unless it's a jump scare but that's more surprise than fear.
somewhat same here. in alot of nowaday horror games they just get irritating when you die alot. honestly takes the fun and scare out of it

I have thalassofobia (fear of large bodys of water like oceans) but watching IGP getting scared and laughing at him really kinda helps me with this fear, so thanks for playing these games for me so I never have too👌
What is something that makes you fear a large body of oceans? Is it because of deep water or not being able to see what is below you or the size of an oceans? I am curious for people who are thalassophobia.

@@monkeymunchie9717 Nah shallow water isn't that bad, i'm a tall person so as long as my feet touch the bottom of whatever body of water i'm in I'm fine, as soon as the water goes over my head and i can't walk on the bottom anymore so i start floating that's when i start freaking out.

The general rule of thumb is to treat these things as if they are live. Even if it look rusted, there's a chance they can go off. Hence why the alot of military today are still getting rid these mines. Both on land and in sea.

I've been so hyped for this game and your video on it. I just tried it out for the first time yesterday, and it can be absolutely blood-chilling.
If that first mine blew up while IGP was rubbing his face against it, I can only imagine how loud of a scream he would’ve made
I absolutely love the realism to how these animals behave. Sharks stalk and bite out of curiosity, while eels are blind and will attack if you smell like fish or are too close to their territory. The first eel you encountered didn't like you swimming into their little room

I haven’t had a game hit me that hard since subnautica in the underwater scares department. I got chills just listening to it and couldn’t even look at the screen. When the Kraken popped up I literally threw my phone.
Fuck yeah play more of this is what I’m trying to say.
When an eel has a maw with a pharyngeal jaw, that's a moray
When the jaws open wide and there's more jaws inside, that's a moray
When it sulks in a reef and has two sets of teeth, that's a moray
When an eel bites your thigh and you bleed out and die, that's a moray
Igp+Cosmic horror is always a good time
I remember seeing the developer posting small clips of this game, specifically of the mermaids, on reddit, asking for advice about what attacks to use and all that and me and lot's of other giving advice. Always nice to see when someone's hard work pays off
Under water horror games are always terrifying to me.

Straight up wanna see more on this. I struggled to play both of the Subnaughticas because of my phobia of the deep endless ocean so seeing you play through this and the neat but cool sea life is very soothing.
I love that they show you how sharks actually are at the start. Sharks are one of my favorite animals despite my fear of the ocean and hearing them portrayed as monsters annoys me.

@@adrianmacias3228 Orcas are predators too. And to be honest, Orcas are probably the most vicious predators in the ocean. But simply because they don't attack humans they are seen as cute and friendly.
Lol, because they don't attack humans. If there was another species, aside from sharks or fellow humans, that were as deadly then we would be trashing them too
Not saying you can't like sharks, or that they serve no purpose, but I would also blast any shark coming my way, or another human, with zero reservations. Mercy isn't a luxury you can really afford when messing with such a beast. Honestly, maybe they should evolve better senses? Seems like it would be the better course of action long-term
For any future comments I'd like to say its fine to fear sharks and avoid them but if you listen to the public and consider them monsters because of that then fear vending mechines just the same. Vending mechines kill more humans than sharks.

You can tell how engrossed IGP gets in a game when the scorecard jumpscares him! But that also shows the quality of the game to get him so engrossed in the first place!
I'm a big softie who wishes there were more pacifist underwater games, but learning all the wildlife is being mind controlled I said "OH NO!" out loud! I love underwater adventures, so the realism of the shark appearance and behavior plus the goal of stopping something with evil intent may push me into trying this game out. Thanks for featuring it and yes, absolutely please show us more!

This game knows a lot about marine bio and care about the realism, love it!! Definitely enjoy this game and they do such a good job with the environment!!! I definitely would love to see more! I love how they made the kraken just a large octopus instead of an oversized giant squid. I can’t wait to see their sirens designs and other creatures! This is so cool!
If they ever make a multiplayer version, this game would probably start turning into a version of Depth and I am perfectly ok with that, this is incredible

Legit laughed when Indie said he was excited to play this game. Immediately remembered him panicking during the Stranded Deep playthrough with Drae when they had to float across the deep ocean on a platform.

The shark that kept attacking you is a Bull shark, the third most dangerous shark, after the Great White and the Tiger shark. They are known to charge and can live in freshwater.

Shoutout to the developer for knowing his biology and creating an ibteresting in lore/game reason for aggressive animals, especially sharks. As IGP said many people defend sharks as they have been proven to not be these mindless killers who attack humans on-site. Most sharks will never meet a human in their entire life. Sharks are docile, clever and interesting animals that deserve love not hate. Some are bold and curious, others are more passive and shy, almost like human personalities. The developer of this game really knows his stuff. For example the bull sharks being more aggresive to the player is typically how bull sharks are to humans in real life. This is a nice touch as most sharks run away or ignore you on site, while the moray eel is typically defensive of its home location. As a game it is interesting and I would love to see more. The Kraken is an awesome piece of martime lore and I hope to see more soon!
