  • Mitterrand - Dirty Tricks Revealed - France, April 1995
We take another look at Mitterrand, the man whose presidency was ridden with high-level corruption.

In an interview France's former head of counter intelligence Yves Bonnet directly implicates President Mitterand in the Rainbow Warrior bombing. Two explosions sank the Greenpeace flagship, the Rainbow Warrior, in 1985. The ship was protesting against French atomic testing at Mururoa Atoll in the South Pacific. The incident caused a diplomatic brawl between New Zealand and France. Charles Hernu, the French Defence Minister at the time, was forced to resign but a French Government cover-up kept the President in the clear. Also confirms the existence of Mitterand's dirty tricks section which allegedly spied on his enemies.

This documentary is not very flattering, even biased against mitterand. I myself is not a fan of the guy, but saying corruption and failed black ops were invented during his mandate is a lil too much... There are a lot of good things he did for france that are not cited in this doco... His work on europe and even on french infrastructures are undeniable. The guy didnt get relected for nothing...
power bring greed I agree... But dont forget to give credit where its due

we need multiple parties like France has. Presidents can be elected there and most European countries with low percentage of votes compared to the USA.

There are countless testimonies of his actions in the Resistance as early as 1942. Maurice Schumann even talked about his heroism on the BBC in 1944. De Gaulle made him a cabinet member of his provisory government after the Liberation. Wether we like him or not, we also have to face historical facts : he was a proeminent member of the resistance and deserves praise for what he did during this period. Wether we like it or not ; )

Quelle blague. Il était Petainiste avant l'heure et a retourné sa veste comme il a toujours fait durant sa vie.

Mitterrand was a Petainist before turning his coat ( one of his speciality), just before the end of ww2, barely did ANYTHING within the resistance...a nasty crook if I may say.

" Mitterrand, the man whose presidency was ridden with high-level corruption".
oh yeah and how about chirac's ones, why don't you put something about that then?? the only french president who had to hide behind his position as the head of state not to have to appear in front of judges for all the charges against him

And even though, Sarkozy has been the most violently criticized and attacked by journalists from all the presidents for no reason but because some of his political oponents on left side, again, said he was "president of rich people"...and so people believed that just for nothing, just like that and because he wanted french people "working more for gaining more money" and french people didn't like that, even if they voted for him for that...but no. 2008's world economic crisis stroke europe and even though France was the one who resisted the best of all to crisis, french people just stoped to trust Sarkozy for no reason because some left political people told them he was an evil man and so they just believed it...just like that. The forgave everything from Mitterrand, Chirac and now even Hollande, some of them are begining to forgive him, but never Sarkozy and I just think this is the most unfair political judgement I've ever seen in my whole life and in my own country at least since 2012, I would say...!

Sarkozy is an absolute cretin and a disgrace, just like Hollande. That a cultured and mature people like the French elected a self-absorbed scoundrel like him is simply unbelievable.

Actually he wasn't a member of the Socialist Party until 1971 (he was never member of SFIO, the original socialist party). He was in the centre-left UDSR Party since the Liberation until it merged in the modern Socialist Party

He was a friend of Matzneff and Peyreffite. He knew the beauty of transient young flesh and resisted the American anti sex puritanism. France would be far worse without him. France has been quite lucky with its leaders, actually.

Yes all pedophiles , like his nephew Frédéric Mitterand who even wrote a book where he confessed his love for young flesh and , when in Thailand , being unable to resist to not paying for sex w underage boys
