There are huge changes coming to Formula One in 2026 with a brand new engine and technical regulations. With increased electrical input and 100% sustainable fuels, Formula One is trying to lead the world in revolutionising how engines will work in the future. To match that, the cars will have a brand new look designed to help them recharge their batteries so they can constantly push flat out. But they aren’t the only changes coming. The FIA confirmed this week a huge number of changes to how the sport will be run in the future and today, I’ll check them out, so don’t go anywhere.

Sustainable!? Where the hell do they think their batteries and tires come from
Participation trophy for everyone!
Sustainable fuel for a series that uses jet airplanes and diesel trucks to move tens of thousands of pounds of equipment around the world in a random pattern every week. But hey at least the race car runs on weird gas
Yep more Gaslighting
It's a farce, give us bad ass sounding V10's and good racing. I will not watch Formula E and if that's the direction F1 goes than F'em. Not gonna watch.
Liberty Media is going to destroy F1 and MotoGP !
Too many rules ! No chance for innovation like in the past.
If these kinds of restrictions had been used in the past they
would still be running front engined , drum braked, cars with
no safety belts.
That's it formula 1 is finished now
We want the v10s back and tyres that last and proper areo as well
yep 100% agree
Oh ... let's give them all participation prizes ....
F1 is done unless they get rid of the person up the top.
and so ends F1 for me.
Nobody cares
@@darrellgrant7615 i don’t care either.
testing should be done at circuits not on the current calendar.
This is why I no longer watch F1, too much virtue signaling and too little emphasis on racing.
I’ve struggled lately watching it , after 45 years roughly I seen most the GPs in that period. When Bernie sold to the Americans it quickly became a different sport , this is the end for me and have no issue checking out and just watching other sports I still enjoy.
I was thinking awarding points past 10th place would be a good thing. People are saying “if you want points, be faster” and such. But it’s not that easy. Smaller teams have smaller budgets to use so the development of their cars is not as significant. More points equals higher standings at the end of the year and more prize money. More money = more development, and more development = faster cars. Usually. Not all upgrades are effective, as we’ve seen this year.
Turning a world championship point into a participation trophy is a huge mistake.
Every race finisher should get points. It makes the mid - back pack racing more interesting, it brings the championship closer, it also solves the problem of Redbull using RB to take fastest lap points away from Mclaren or other teams fighting for championships.
Yay a participation trophy!
What a good little boy i am!
Mom says im so handsome
Regarding the points system: why is the points for winning never discussed? 25 for a vs 18 for 2nd is ridiculous, leading to runaway championship wins every year. 😪
Last year of f1 soon too bad, but on a postive note saves time.
Rule #1 all drivers must say Sir to Mo Ben Salami.
Indy Cars are all the same though with 2 body kits hence any car can win unlike in F1 were only the top3 maybe 4 teams win.
Want points? Be faster
F1 just need to part ways with the FIA and do it now, the FIA are only out to line their pockets whilst killing F1 with a death of many cuts via the over regulation of the sport.
Something should be done to help the poorest performer to inprove their chances. How this can be achieved, I wouldn't know. Only to say that in American Football, the poorest performing teams get first pick of the draft, new players coming into the market. Teams can also sell their First Draft Option to another team and use the money to buy other players. All in all, this helps to level out the playing field so that after a few years it is possible to see a poor team become one of the Superbowl competitors. We need to see F1 races that are less of a procession, albeit that is less true this year than in previous.
There is the sliding scale of aero dynamic testing time, which gives the worst performing teams more testing time. I do agree though, I think more could be done to help them. Maybe not to the level that the WEC intervenes but another little push such as a higher budget cap for the worst performing teams would help
Like extended wind tunnel testing for teams at the bottom or a little more prize money from the TV deals, perhaps?
@@F1REVERSE This is good thinking and what F1 should be doing. Even with a higher budget cap though, if there's no money left it's not much use. Saying that, If a big company like Ranault can't make an engine that works, what is left? Formula Mercedes?
@WolfmanWoody Would Mercedes every be able to win again if everyone took their engine? Haha
If they can't perform at the bottom they should be challenged by new teams to keep a place on the grid. Andretti anyone?
It's only the same as in other sports, you don't get points for losing or coming last!
Their finish is tracked for overall finish now, the cash handout is affected zero. This is crap PR.
1. Okay, so we're getting more pre-season testing including mule cars...but they're so different from new specs that it won't matter much...okay
2. Omg, we're going to get a cracking Rookie Sprint Race...that's not going to happen this year, or maybe not even next year...well that doesn't seem...
3. Looks like they're entertaining more points for more te---....not that either, that's been universally cancelled...
(FIA members) Right so...once again, why did we have to meet in person again...this could have been an email.
These cars will be dog sh$&!
That's why they are in the bottom five! So they want to award points for the best of the worst performance in a race! A trophy for participation! What else can FIA do to cock up the sport? I'm sure that they will find a way.
Strong performances outside the top 10 ? No such thing
Recharging batteries 😴🤮
Welcome to F1 in 2026. Hopefully the new changes will stop teams having to lift and coast at the end of straights to charge their batteries, which is something Red Bull were really worried about happening
@@F1REVERSE rebranded Formula E 🤦🏻♂️
...WELL.....WHY not IF THAT'LL BE LIKE MCLAREN P1,FOR example....
...BUT indeed MAIN ENGINE MUSTVE BEEN 1000+HP
Do their private jets fly on sustainable fuel?
sustainable its more like a piss stain
I would award points down to 15th place. Fastest lap also down to 15th. With win increased to 26 points, 2nd to 20 points, 3rd 16, 4th 13 5th 11 6th 10 7th 9 8th 8 9th 7 10th 6 11th 5 12th 4 13th 3 14th 2 15th 1.
Wait, so they run on feelings now?
Indy car and nascar has sustainable fuel for the last few years. F1 is slow to get on board
F1 is a dying entity, being screwed and strangled by Arab's & Yank's, it used to be Mosley & the Frog's, but the new dictator's are complete A/holes
As long as they all have fun eh
Wec and imsa's reign is coming with the downfall of f1
F1 is turning into F pointless
Watch motorbikes. It's far better than formula bore
motors run on electricity and engines run on combustion. The engine converts various forms of fuels into mechanical force, while the motor transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy
I beat the drum for points for every finish.
@@_JimS maybe you should be beaten by your drum 🥁😁
20 points for 1st, going down 1 point at a time to 1 point for last
...with no points for a DNF.
2026 will make more fans leave f1 . due cars too big to heavy . and to boring . and one stop races is just a joke . and if they keep same stewards next bias towards British driver and teams like sky show now .
