the thing is, everyone is mad no unity parkour. yes obviously it was the best in the franchise, and extremely smooth/fluid. but it just wasn't realistic at all
Anyone who expected unity parkour has comprehension issues. For one that type of flashy parkour wouldn't fit the time period of this game and secondly ubisoft said they'd be taking inspiration from unity, not directly copying it.
It's a big step in the right direction, giving people who are not a fan of RPG's a more AC experience, but I think it will fall a little short of what fans of AC1 and the Ezio games remember and want, especially in Mirage's frankly over simplified or even dumbed down parkour it has inherited from Origins/Odessey/Valhalla.
You remember AC1 Aand AC2 very poorly, I played it recently and parkour is here pretty much the same what was in AC2 combined with unity/origins sneaking, hopefully here we will have interiors as well - paris in unity was so good with that jumping from window to window like Jason Bourne
to be fair ACI, AC2 and brotherhood had the most basic parkour system going it was even more dumbed down than the RPG games, Untiy had the most complex and visually interesting
@@theaces3697sorry bro, as much as I like Unity, I have to disagree with you. Unity parkour is pretty automatic and heavily dependent on camera angle with a broken snap target system. The good thing about Unity parkour is its revolutionary parkour animations, the parkour mechanic itself is even more simplify than the Kenway Trilogy. AC1 and Ezio Trilogy parkour are considered the best in terms of freedom expression, and they have good mechanics to back that up. Side ejects, back ejects, catch ledge,...can be performed with high level of precision, to the point that some people may see them as "clunky" (cause Altair/Ezio will precisely react to any input, even some mistakes made by players).
@@theaces3697 Yeah, gonna disagree with that too. Mechanically, AC1 and the Ezio games Parkcour was far more sophisticated than any of the later games to date. I always say that the early games had the best feeling or functioning parkcour, Unity had the best looking (when it worked). Nothing in the rpg games even comes close to the level of control the early games had. In fact, I would argue those games don't really have a parkcour system more a climbing mechanic to facilitate verticality in their open world. Open world is almost always ill suited to parkcour which requires a dense usually urban environment with many things to bounce off of and grab onto. The more open the world, the more difficult or impossible it is to chain moves together effectively, which is what Syndicate and later Origins and the rest found out.
I get the impression this is basically a completely different team than the people who made AC1 trying to make a game that looks like AC1 with an RPG engine ill-suited to recreateing what AC1 was and them just kinda doing the best they can. That said it's the first AC game since Origins that I'm even remotely interested in. I think it's a game people like me who love AC1 and the Ezio games will kinda like but also be a little disappointed with its limitations, esp in terms of parkour.

I guess the spectral/ghost assassination thing is going to be the only cool style kill in this game.. rest of it all seems to be just hidden blade kills. Kinda limited...
@@FirestormX9 Well what exactly do you expect? The laser shooting Iron Man Suit from Valhalla? A Unicorn that you can use to impale enemies while mounted? A Dildo-Shooting Shotgun?
