- Here i show some of the craziest character design changes from wuthering waves. some of the characters looked very diffrent and interesting - in the closed beta and the beginning of the game before they changed some of the designs comepletly! (and made them better )

For example lingyang had a beast design character, or camelya (chun) had a very diffrent design. or verinas old design was just simply a spaceranger & more.

Specially Verina, beta one doesn't look like a botanist at all
They can use old Camellya design as another brand new character and no one would even notice it was her old design lmao
tbh yea i think they can make a new character based on her but I'm glad they changed her design into this
There was a cinematic-ish shot of Chun that showed up recently that wasn't from earlier tests, so its possible they reuse the design.
But it could've also been fake, so take this with a grain of salt.

@@_kiaz_that's why near WuWa release date many people still call him Kakarot although the name has changed for some time, because they're used to it in beta. But I like the spelling Calcharo more, Kakarot reminds me of carrots, cracks me up a bit 😆

Actually, Camellya is probably an afterthought in an effort to stylize translation; she is still called Chun (椿) if you play the game in Chinese, which basically refers to the camellia flower.
now chixia is better tho, fit with her personality

The fiery colour and shape of her hair fits her personality. Plus, it doesn't clash with the colour scheme of her outfit. The old design has potential, so if they polish it a bit, they can make a new character.

For Chixia I think they're going for a somewhat Tifa Lockhart design
Agree, they went from Tifa to Yoimiya I think. Personality is DEFINITELY trying to play off of Yoimiya being a great character to interact with but kind of under used at this point.
The Camellya change is goated. I almost strictly pull male characters cause I like to RP as them more, but she's one of the first gacha characters that makes me get it.

That archetype seems to be quite popular and is a favourite to many, myself included.
I wanted the old design of camellya shes beautifuly elegant
But it doesn't fit her persona tbh. If they want moke this design, they better make it as another character

It was generic dude, all games/animes have girls/women with that design😴. It’s so common you’ll actually get miss boring design as a different character. Maybe a 4*. If you can’t wait, you’ll find her old design in every other game…

Honestly lingyang redesign is quite meh, because in that furry look he look quite unique, saying this as someone that is not even into furries)
I think that for him they should keep both designs.
If I'm not wrong there's a quest about him where he transforms in his animal like form (be it fully lion or not) but from what I heard they don't show it to you and just do a black screen describing what happened and then making him apologise about it.
I might be wrong as I still didn't do the quest they speak about, but I feel like he should have two forms one more animal like and the other human one for when the transformation happens.
Also I hope they will use Camellya design for a new character given the two are completely different she can definitely be used for a new character.

@@austinlim54 It’s not an open chest dress,It’s a summer style dress. Children wear dresses like that all the time. Her original design is horrible and if I see a child wearing that I would judge their parent.

Lingyang's story quest makes much more sense with the old character design. I was so confused when he was talking about his race receiving discrimination because of how they look. Bro, you're basically a human with cat ears. But seeing the more tiger-like appearance, makes more sense.

@@fortissears5388, no I agree with Ohmu. It was in the uncanny valley. The design could either be to make him look more like an animal or more like a person and it would work better. They just chose the latter as his story is of how he was an animal who became human to learn about humanity without the risk of being killed.
Chixia is gorgeous now. As they say, Medium is PrEmIuM🤌🏻

They changed his design but didn't account for his changes in his story quest.
Good thing they gave a context for her new form, in her story when she awakened as a ressonator her hair turned red and her got the ability to change her body to high temperatures, but yeah they didn't explained why her booba diminished
Some ressonators have big changes in their body when they awaken it seems
Breasts are basically sacks of fat, for lack of a more elegant term, so maybe she just raised her body temperature so much she literally burned off some of the fat ;3
I kinda wish they still somehow try redo verina old design because she doesn't feel like a botanist at all in her current design, all I could get is that she is just a random little girl with flower motive

If u think of the lore of lingyang his old design makes much more sense, buuut it probably wouldn't sell as much as his human version

Chixias and Verinas old designs you showed were actually from the technical test not CBT 1. Verinas design also slightly changed from CBT 1 to CBT 2 which is the final one we got in the released version

They changed lingyang's design coz of cn complaints, so now the devs made it so lingyang broke his bones, ripped off his hair, filed down his claws so that he looked human (implied on his companion quest).
(Just for context, I haven't started playing WuWa yet) I find this really sad story-wise, but I can respect the grindset.

Easy. 椿（chun) is Chinese for the camellya flower. They just change the translation method.

Verina's old outfit doesn't fit her flower girl aesthetic at all. Make sense with light-based Spectro element though.
