Thanks for reviewing the base model! With a ~1000 USD price difference, I don't understand why most reviews out there only care to test the higher-end configurations.
This x100... It's annoying. They test a model that costs more than double than the base model, and I am sure that the best selling it's the base model. Very very few will buy the one that's been tested.
Every frickin vid u r making of the xps 15 im gonna watch because u are not saying ok this has so much points and this gpu has this geekbench NO! You are just saying what the consumer needes! Thx a lot!
Thank you very much for this. I really appreciate that you understand what is the scenario for most people out there. All other youtubers are getting the high-end specs which is impossible to compare to the base specs in terms of performance. Good job...
As someone who has a RUclips channel, reviews like this are great. I've been thinking about traveling next year and was looking for a laptop so I can edit on the road. Super helpful.
YES! Everyday Dad always knows the right videos to put out! I’m expecting my XPS15 in a couple days, and video editing is my primary use for it, so this was great to see 🤩 Looks like I won’t have any issues with editing, especially since Im getting the NVIDEA version and upgrading the RAM 😁 Thanks dude!
Great video, nice to see a genuine review on this, and not just a whole lot of whining. I don't really need these for my use case in animation but it looks interesting as a seperate system for light photo and video editing on the side. Top notch video sir.
3:40 - you can auto synch based on waveforms in Resolve really easily as well. Super handy for multi-can + external audio (and it's included in the free version!)
Awesome! You answer a big quotation our of my mind!!! Thank you! The last question before I click purchase button is the touch pad issue. I saw another RUclipsr returning his XPS for the touch pad fix. And there there is a way to DIY. See if you will further look into the touch pad issue.
The base model are not expensive bro. .. Everyone can buy this laptop.. But I have problem to choose either hp envy 15 or the base model dell xps 15..🤔
the Competition between MacBook and XPS are pretty even. Considering the lower cost of XPS and its expandable / upgradable by yourself, I am more intending to favor XPS. And windows 10 are now offer free video editing program together. Thank you for bringing us what XPS 15 is capable of in real application.
Not being familiar with premiere, my expectations of smoke pouring out of that sweet little laptop were shattered.😂 You've clearly figured it out. PS, I agree, give us the option of card slots, headphone jacks AND 1080 webcams at the expense of a millimetre or 2👍
This morning I ordered the G5 Intel version and not the SE I thought I would get. I7-10750H and RTX 2070 for about £1250 after discounts which is way more powerful and cheaper than the XPS. As for colour accuracy who cares lol
Your episodes have cost me a fortune, as my XPS 15 should be arriving on Tuesday. I thought long and hard about an AMD version vs an Intel version but in the end I chose Intel because it was a cheaper option. Still spendy either way. May I ask if you notice any real time difference when editing and rendering when using 64Gb of RAM compared to Lower amounts of RAM? I've never used Premier, however I think that Resolve can reduce the playback footage just like Premier does for lower spec kit when viewing and scrubbing. I could be wrong though.
I would think that before even watching this it would at least be reasonable for editing on for most people. I use a 2015 MSI Leopard (I7 4710hq / 16gb DDR3 / integrated graphics + Geforce 840m) for editing the footage from my Yi 4k and i'm not going to say it's lightning fast but it's definitely ok to work with. I would really like to see how well this XPS works editing the 5.7k footage from the Insta360 One R int hint hahhha 😉
I like your videos. I about to pick one but seem there is one thing to hold me back is about the stylus. I mostly work with Photoshop photo editing. Stylus pen is important for me, which this xps 9500 doesn't give it to me. I have to rethink again.
Lol 3.5 minutes of rendering for 2 minutes of 4k footage. That's insane. My current Asus renders a 15-minute video in about 12 hours. I usually leave it to render overnight
In pure size and weight perspective, how would you help someone decide between XPS 15 vs 17? I'd love to go big, semi-portable. Also beside video or photo editing can you put 17" screen real estate to a good day to day use?
Hi bro , is the new Dell xps 15 has an annoying clicking sound when you use the track pad cause I watched some tutorials and they talked about this issue.
It’s a 3.000$ laptop for the top ends and it starts at 1700euro’s I don’t think it’s cheap enough to be worth it. It’s already on a MacBook/Razer tag prices.
I have the XPS 9500 with the NVidia 1650 GTX with MaxQ and 32GB of RAM. I'm very unhappy with this configuration for video editing in Videostudio 2020, and am likely to exchange for the 9700. Working directly with 4k 60fps video is exceptionally jerky in the 9500--it's impossible. Working with Smart Proxy Files is much better but still jerky. Really, any kind of video encoded in H.265 is JERKY, smart proxy or not! The only way I can have a more smooth editing experience is to encode a low resolution Smart Proxy using H.264 (instead of H.265). The XPS 9700 seems to be a much better choice for several reasons: better cooling (reduced throttling), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with Max-Q (better GPU). It's also got an extra Thunderbolt 3 port, USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps), and Native DisplayPort 1.4 / HBR2 for better multi-display options.
Thanks for reviewing the base model! With a ~1000 USD price difference, I don't understand why most reviews out there only care to test the higher-end configurations.

Hi friend one question u can change the gráfics¿? U changed with dell or by yourself? Because I’d like to upgrade the graphics, thanks again

Again, LOVED THIS!!

Thanks; I’m buying one for me soon 😄
Nice! I hope it works well for you!
im about to buy one and its incredible you made videos about all the things i wanted to know about htis notebook 😀😀
Great video as always and it’s interesting to see you a work !
So interesting to watch others editing flow 🤓☕️🔥
I would have really liked to see the comparison between this base config and with this lightning fast SSD and 64 Gb of RAM.
Great video though!
Love you and your reviews man 🔥🔥🔥🔥 another subscriber 👍👍
Love you man❤❤
Even I can't afford this Laptop, I love seeing your XPS series videos
Haven't missed any of your video👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻❤

Hey man, i really like the videos you upload
This is super helpful. Thank you so much!
Love the vibe of the videos! Do you know using TWO 4K external displays is possible with the base model?
Would like to see the MacBook Pro 13” high spec perform in PR, Davinci Resolve and also FCPX!

Great video. Thank you
I'm pretty sure you can got to Playback > Proxy in Resolve and bump down the playback resolution to 1/2 or 1/4.
Super helpful!!! Thank you! I have the Dell 9720 and was wondering if I can use Premiere on it.
If you're using the base model you should edit 1080p footage since it's more likely to be filmed in.
Can you please add the key specs of your base model, as they might be different from country to country.
This morning I ordered the G5 Intel version and not the SE I thought I would get. I7-10750H and RTX 2070 for about £1250 after discounts which is way more powerful and cheaper than the XPS. As for colour accuracy who cares lol
Great Video. Thanks from Germany.
I use Premiere Elements, not pro, on my HP Envy X360. It is the only editor I know how to use now. Lol. I love it!!!
Great video. I think if you use 1080 p footage it will respond even better?do you agree?
Yeah absolutely, that would work much better or even if you were to use proxies it would be a better experience.
@@TheEverydayDad thank you .I think you saved me some money 😁😁😁

I didn’t notice much with the ram but the faster ssd had a marked improvement on rendering speeds.
Hey everyday dad what do you think about a editing video on a iPad mini?? As i always love your all editing contents i would really enjoy to see it
i think you need to change the premiere settings for the ram usage, you can set how much ram usage on premiere
I would think that before even watching this it would at least be reasonable for editing on for most people. Would be interesting if there are Performance isssues, when using proxies. Thx for the vid
You can view also on resolve 4k by bringing down the menu
Hi TED! I would love a Premier Pro tips and tricks series with you! Thanks for this video!
See this is why you’re cool! You post Mac and Windows. Great content! Wish you were my dad. Haha
What is the full spec of this laptop that you are testing?
I'd be interested to know the same.
Spec in the "description below" would be awesome
you can lower the quality of playback on resolve.
Do you have the fullHD Laptop? How is the Display? I dont Like the glossy 4K Touch Display. How is the scaling?
What's the battery life on normal, moderate & heavy usage?

The only reason to get the cheaper one next to this that has a gpu, is just to make it future proof

Hey Everyday Dad, could you make a review for the best 500 dollar video editing laptop, love your content.
From the Philippines 😉
Yeah I’ll add that to the list and see if we can get one in 👍

Get an iPad Pro 11 then download luma fusion. 500$ for a laptop you’re just choking the laptop to death.
@@aggressivelyadamant6063 Ipad pro 11 cost around $1000 here in the Philippines due to importation taxes, so can't afford it either.
do these high-performance PCs come with video editing software internally
only one question how is the battery life of this base model. I'm thinking about if I need to go for the bigger battery version
So you can't edit 4k videos without another monitor? So with out a 4k monitor you can't edit or save any 4k videos?
What do you think about the HP spectre 15 x360, has the same specs but seems this is more fast
Make one for the MacBook 16 base model
1080p variant have more than 60hz? 🧐

My only question is what’s the difference between home vs business model
My impression: Windows 10 Home vs Windows 10 Pro; probably also some differences in the service offers.
Taxes included or excluded :)
As far as i know the free version of Davinci Resolve doesnt support GPU acceleration at all...
Didn’t you had thermal and trackpad issues? I returned mine
What’s the orange portable hard drive in the thumbnail
Hi bro , is the new Dell xps 15 has an annoying clicking sound when you use the track pad cause I watched some tutorials and they talked about this issue.
Why do you shoot and upload 4k? The human eye can't tell much of a difference from 1080 to 4k.
Idk but i think this is the same voice in the infographics show channel
Can you make a video on xps 13, testing it in premiere pro?
Can you tell me the details about externally screen recordING?
If I go with the 4k option, can that configuration still output to 4K monitors?
Yes.
If this had a problem i would've lost hope since at best i can afford the Asus vivobook 15 which only has intel i3 8gb ram and 256gb ssd storage
What are some other video editing programs for PC that are more CPU intensive and not so dependent on GPU?
How long will the render go if you put the 64gb ram and nvme ssd compared to stock base model?
Should I take the xps 15 with an i5 or the xps 17 with an i5 ?
Is the xps 17 with an i5 good ?
Does adobe photoshop run well on the base model?
Great videos! Just ordered my own XPS15 (16gb ram, 4k screen, 512gb ssd) for video/photo editing.
What about after effects and 3ds max?
It means we can use Primiere fot dell
Sorry my English is not good , and I can't understand we can or not

refurbed these going for $500 now with t1000 gpu. some loss of value going on last 18months
Considering “scale” an effect, ok.
Mine came few days ago, an absolute 10/10 machine if it wasn't for the trackpad to ruin the complete experience. :(
Are you having trackpad issues?
The Everyday Dad yes, bottom part has about 2 mm gap compared to the top part. Drives me up the wall!
Brother dell latitude 7470 1080 60fps test ?
What monitor is that?
Can we use xps 15 model 2017

Do you have any idea if AutoCAD can work fine on this?
I wouldn't. You're gonna need gpu horsepower for AutoCAD.
Is there any problem with touchpad in dell XPS 15

XPS 15 without dGPU is not worth the money in my opinion.
I came here to see you slam the laptop on the table, so disappointed. :)
Premiere pro is really great it has two BIG cons: HUGE price and worse colorgrading than davinci (and few little thing too).
Well, yeah. Premiere Pro is a consumer/semi-professional level software. DaVinci is used widely throughout the industry.
For the price of this laptop, I would expect it to be able to do everything.
crosswhite17 then you need to reconsider your expectations...
Glad i don´t grab an xps 15, my Avell A60 crushes it in all aspects and costs much less
xps 17 pleaseeee
