      I went to the bog and missed the first 2. Amir Khan once had a fight with breidis Prescott and he was knocked out in 34 seconds. I missed the whole fight because I was having a pish.

    That was the first ever rugby game my girlfriend watched on TV. After 7 minutes she told me: "I really wasn't expecting rugby been such an entertaining and captivating game!". Goes without saying that she soon learned what being an Italy's rugby supported usually is like... 😂

      @@JD_13 in the last couple of years yes as England have gone on a slide but England did win 9 matches on the trot not so long ago against Scotland (up to 2017) and in fairness England have won actual titles such as 7 six nations titles including as recently as 2020 to Scotland's 0 and a world cup win and a world cup final last time out too.

    Also worth watching the 2000 Bledisloe in Sydney. ABs were up 21-0 after 5 minutes, but amazingly, the scores were level at 24-24 with 10 minutes still left in the first half

      @@dylanbaron__ There's a new rule now. 60 seconds for a penalty kick. Just a bad time to decide to enforce the time wasting rules.
      The ABs got penalized for taking to long at a line out not so long ago. But it wasn't at such a critical time.

      I remember it well. ABs won 39-35 after a try by Jonah Lomu in the dying stages. An exciting match where the lead changed hands a number of times during the second half.

    The moment I remember from that game was later on, after a stoppage in play, Troncon (Italian #9) ruffled Cursiter's hair in a commiseratory way, as if saying 'don't get too down lad, we all have these games at some point...'

      @@keithdoyle7423 2007 (says so in the title) and final score was 17-37. It was Italy's first away win in the 6N. I remember thinking that if it wasn't for those first 7 minutes, Scotland would have won by 1 point; 17-16. Totally clutching at straws, I know.

    Quel giorno ero in gita a Milano e ricordo in pullman al ritorno chiamai mio papà per sapere come era andata la partita.. mi disse che avevamo vinto 37 a 17 con 3 mete nei primi 20 minuti.     Was at Murrayfield with 2 first-timers for this, wonder if they ever went back? Scotland actually lost it twice, they'd got back to 24-17 with 20 minutes to go, the point at which Italian teams often folded. But instead Scotland folded, Italy won the last quarter 13-0.

    Really interesting to see the differences in the game from only 16 years ago. Little things like where the ref stands at the line out, to huge rule changes like taking it back into the 22.

      @Jay M "Eh" right back at you. The game flowed better and with less interruptions back then, and most of the rule changes have been bad ones. They didn't "have to" make those changes, they chose to. No mix ups, try again.

    There are people calling for Italy to be kicked out of the 6 nations, but when you get to the level that the best teams play at, teams like Italy, Japan, Georgia Canada, the United States and the rest need all the elite level rugby they can get to improve. I look forward to the day when more than three or four teams could win the world cup.

      Agree - and I don't know about Italy, but for sure if elegibility rules were just a little more serious than they are, we would at least have two Pacific nations contesting for silverware and a couple of European ones left behind.

      Italy had its chance and for a very long time. Argentina has improved by playing Southern Hemisphere. Japan kept buying players until it became reasonably competitive. Even Polisian nations have formed a team now. Italy always wooden spooner or almost one. Georgia has shown enough consistency to deserve a spot and improve as you suggested, but replacing Italy.

      @@TheRadFactor Italy is 4-1 against Georgia in all competitions, though. And against Japan they are 7-2. It's just their level: a perennial third place in Rugby World Cup pools.

    I know it's not six nations, but you should check out the 2004 super rugby final. Brumbies score 5 tries against the crusaders in less than 20 minutes.

    Just about 8-10 years ago Italy did the same thing with a Scotland that tried to get long passes across the front of field, and were at least 12 points down in two minutes. Italy are great with intercepts.

      AB V Wallaby completely different two well matched teams, this is supposedly a top tier team v a second or third tier team. That said scoring 3 tries in five minutes in any game is pretty good

    NZ were 21-0 up against the Wallabies after only 5 minutes in 2000!
    Just FYI Australia actually came back to lead, including during injury time. Jonah Lomu then scores to win for NZ in front of a world record 109,000 people.

    One of the worst grounds I have had the misadventure to visit . Your view of the whole pitch is restricted so anything happening on the side-lines is hidden from you and as soon as the game starts to heat up, spectators stand-up and you cannot see out to the halfway line despite being 6-1

      Pas vraiment. Ils ont parfois des années moins pires que d'autres, mais depuis 30 ans il n'y a eu aucun progrès. C'est pas parce qu'ils ont arraché une victoire à la dernière minute contre les Gallois qu'ils progressent... faut pas oublier que cette victoire met fin à la plus longue série de défaites de l'histoire du tournoi...

Ça peut sembler une peu triste ou stupide comme chose mais selon moi une victoire c'est assez pour pousser les italiens vers une mentalité renouvelée et de retrouver au moins la croyance qu'ils peuvent être une équipe compétitive.

      C'est pas du progrès quand tu penses qu'il y a 20 ans il avaient pas besoin d'attendre 7 années et 37 matchs pour arracher une victoire (à 1 point). C'est pas pour te contredire mais dans les années 2000 et la première moitié des années 2010 l'Italie parvenait à gagner un match presque tous les ans. L'Italie n'était pas autant à la ramasse quand elle a rejoint le tournoi et depuis quelques années le fossé s'est creusé... Je dirais plutôt qu'il y a eu une franche régression, au mieux ils vont revenir à leur niveau d'avant, c'est-à-dire en-dessous des autres mais sans être le punching ball où le seul objectif pour leur adversaire c'est de prendre le point du bonus offensif. De là à être compétitif, l'Italie ne l'a jamais été mais ces dernières années l'enjeu pour les adversaires était uniquement de faire leurs quatre essais et d'empocher 5 points. Quand je parle de progrès je parle sur le long terme, pas de faire mieux que les dernières années (c'est-à-dire ne pas finir le tournoi avec 0 point au classement).

      @@gontrandjojo9747 le progrès est là, ils ont une jeune génération capable de tenir tête à la France et à l'Irlande, ils sortent vite le ballon, c'est fluide. Manque juste un banc compétitif, et un brin de chance, exemple Campagnaro qui a disparu des radars alors qu'il était potentiellement un star player au centre. Lui aurait stoppé les Ahki Fickou etc. Ils ont corrigé leurs tirs au but, la touche marche, la mêlée est potable. Bref manque vraiment un banc

      Many have mentioned this. I never watched that game live, but saw clips of the start - and climax.
      There was a (possibly) dodgy breakdown before the All Blacks forced a turnover. The rest was history, I guess...

    I was travelling that day so I asked my father to record the game on the VCR. When I arrived home he told me he forgot to start the recording on time but only missed the first ten minutes. 🤬🤬🤬😂😂😂

    How come the kick 5:30 wasn’t brought back? Italy had a ruck outside of the 22m and passed it back in.

      At the time, 2007, it was legal to pass back the ball into your own 22 to clear directly into touch. An ELV (experiment law variation) brought in around 2008 I think was adopted in 2008/9 that stopped this "pass back"

    Hi, all...i'm still learning about the most awesome game in the world...that first try...my friend with the awesome hair blocked the kick and recovered it for the try. It wasn't called a knock on, which I assume is because it was kicked not thrown. am i close on that? thanks!

      If you block a lofted kick with your hands/arms and it travels forward, it's classified as a legal "charge down" and play can continue without sanction 👍

      @@downsy4567 thank you! now that you say that, I've heard the phrase 'charge down,' but didn't connect it with being a rugby legalality! So, if it's a grubber kick, or a lateral pass knocked forward, an opposing player can't knock it down or forward, without penalty? Thanks for the assist!

      Yes, I think the law states "immediately" i.e. before it hits the ground, so once a grubber kick hits the pitch it can't be charged down.
