The real challenge would be to find 12 minutes of Antoine Dupont not being very good at rugby.
😂😂
👍
🤣😂You make my day !! 😂🤣
👍👍👍
Someone tried, he died before the end.
I see that title, "Dupont being very good at rugby" and can't help but feel that it's the biggest understatement I've seen in decades.
Yeah I absolutely loved the understated tittle.
Who doesn’t love an understated title!
Every single player featured in this video would make a “very good”player look very bad. But DuPont makes them all look very bad
Avec" Rocco Siffredi à des couilles "
He might have a bad day, once or twice a season...
A miracle! Among his many achievements, Antoine Dupont has taught the Brits how to correctly pronounce a “u”.
I honestly think we are witnessing a player who might go down as the GOAT. It's incredible to watch.
I concur
His impact weeks in weeks out is out of this world
It feels already like GOAT as the level he reached has never been reached before.
If he maintains that level his whole career then its not a GOAT but the GOD of rugby we are witnessing.
And he had two acl
@@tm.8399 that's actually what impresses me the most in his career so far
@@tm.8399 "Acl" it's an injury ? I don't know what it means
Absolute beast, has it all.....strength, speed, subtle touch, vision, handling, kicking, defence - not just the best 9 I've ever seen, probably one of the best union players I've ever seen, & have been watching rugby for 40 years.....this guy has everything, apart from an English parent ha ha!
haha that last part!
Indeed that last part from a froggy, you made my day😄 (but for the past 20 years, I didn't have much to cheer upon as a "Bleu" fan... Hopefully this is changing)
.
🤣 you'll have to wait a little longer
Exactly the same for me except I've watched rugby "only" for 27 years
As an Englishman it pains me greatly to say this, but the title of best player in the world definitely belongs to him atm
Completely in agreement, from South Africa. Giving him Player of the Year award was an absolute no-brainer.
As a fellow Englishman, he's so good it doesn't pain me at all, because he's a phenomenal player and I love watching him and I want to enjoy watching him play until he retires. Apart from when France play England I get a bit worried then.
Don't be.. We frenchmen loved every game by Johnny Wilkinson even against our team
@@ilsontfouscesromains don’t worry mate it’s only a joke, bit of English on french banter, more annoyance that he isn’t English than anything else 😂. I love watching him play, he’s fucking spectacular whenever he has the ball, and at the end of the day good rugby is good rugby. Obviously I love to see England win but we don’t seem to have any flair in our plays or individual players anymore, but that is starting to change with the younger lads coming through, Marcus smith in particular
@@ilsontfouscesromains C'est vrai que Wilkinson était fabuleux. Il parle même un français correct.
if you could build a 9 in a lab and max out every attribute you would get Antoine Dupont. Absolute machine.
oh shit our cover fell, cancel everything!!!!
Hahaha c est la vérité .. bien vu mon ami .. au detourt d un bar en France . A bientôt
You’d add in a little more shithousery - he’s almost too boring emotionally!
@@mhorlor For some people it's a quality but i get what you mean.
@@mhorlor isnt a scrum half handing off props for fun sort of shithousery?
Dupont should be in every French National Team...no matter the sport.
Given how good he is, he might very well be that good in another non rugby sport should his will set to that other sport
Forget the best scrumhalf currently, he is arguably one of the best rugby players in the last probably 20 years, if not ever. He had everything and the kitchen sink.
I really hope that both him and Faf de Klerk are fit and in form at the end of the year because that is a contest I am dying to see!!
@@Karma-qt4ji I don't even understand why people compare him and Faf. Faf is a great scrum half, Dupont is slowly but surely becoming an all time great
@@08padam exactly.
No disrespect to Faf or even A.Smith but DuPont is in an entire different category of player....the category you see only once or twice in a lifetime
@@08padam faf isn’t even the second best scrum half in the world right now lmao, I’d say Ali Price is probably better
Agreed he's the best player I have seen in either code. He has no weakness in his game. Strong, Good defender, incredible kicking game off either foot both short and long range, immense running threat, leader, great pass, offloader. The kids incredible.
"i love watching antoine dupont,he plays how i would like to play" gareth edwards
no
Lmao
What I love about Dupont is that he is a complete professional, his mindset is elite. He never gets fazed, it's always onto the next job for him whether the opposition have just scored or whether he's just made a rare mistake. You also never see him celebrate or even smile until after the game because he knows the job's not done. The man's going to go down as the 🐐 because he'll never be satisfied with how good he is (and he's already miles ahead of the rest).
Now when you mention it, Antoine Dupont is indeed very good at rugby!
It crazy how good he is because he's not the tallest or heaviest rugby player but he still is always where he needs to be and tackles easily some of the biggets players.
Quel talent ! Rapidité, intelligence, changements de direction, esprit d'équipe, précision dans les passes, contrôle de la balle, capacité à se remettre sur ses appuis, à plaquer des joueurs plus massifs...
I'm glad to see the rise of a star such as Dupont. Rugby is more about team efforts so it's harder to single out players contrary to football. But Antoine Dupont is the perfect player to represent rugby.
And he is very humble
Rugby's version of Messi.
You know what, Im an All Blacks fan and I want the All Blacks to win but in all Honesty France can have 2023 for all I care because this guy is like Micheal Jordan of Rugby and he deserves a WC tittle.
I describe him as the Messi of rugby to non-rugby people. He makes things happen out of nowhere, makes it look easy and at times it’s like he’s playing a different sport!
Edit: He gives the impression it all comes to him naturally, he’s “diminutive”… the list goes on
Yes its trherue .. bon oui c est la vérité. Sorry myfiend formy englich
@@philippebeillan6962 ...
was thinking same.
the comparison sort of holds up but I see 2 big differences: first off....defense! and also Dupont did not have to leave his country to make it. he still plays for a club pretty close from the village he grew up in.
That's rather Chabal
He might just be one of these once in a generation greats with Lomu, McCaw or fellow scrum-half Edwards He just makes things happen all the time and to top it off is so much fun to watch.
Can his body hold up though?
@@jimgray3346 We would already know if it wasn't the case. He tore his right ACL four years ago and didn't have any issue with his right knee since then even though he played a lot of games. It shows his body heals well and can handle the highest level of rugby.
Spot on. His impact feels very reminiscent of Lomu's. And the guy's only 25.
Lomu was on Dbol and HGH my dudes.
@@jeannewillemse6433 Can't help but feel a slight sense of irony reading a SA fan (I'm assuming) accusing players from other countries of using PEDs...
I remember watching this Toulouse's game in Cardiff, it was Dupont's come back after covid and an injury I think. I thought he would struggle with the pace, the impacts, maybe he would miss some key moves ... he single-handedly DESTROYED this Cardiff team, teaching them how rugby is played at the highest level ! I was so impressed
It seems to be one of his most impressive performances, he was alone that day in Cardiff on the pitch. The opposite side was mainly made of young players because of covid but still he was everywhere and brilliant.
I saw that match too, i'm a toulouse supporter. But i remember that cardiff had lot of players with covid. They put very young players and some old veteran from little clubs around cardiff. So it was more like an amical match, even the cardiff supporters were happy to see dupont play so easy.
World cup in France could be something very special. Japan RWC was amazing so high hopes for France.
RWC in Japan was special because there was no clear favorite, Wales ranked no 1 for a week 2019, Ireland 2018 best team, England looked unbeatable leading upto the final, All blacks consistently great and South Africa (were rivaling AB's)
@@KnightWing274 For this one, is there a clear favourite tho ? Even in French team is pretty strong, Ireland & South Africa are also weighing a lot on the balance. And France always know how to lose to Australia or Argentina when time comes lol
It's Dupont's world, he just lets us live in it
Hard to imagine that is just the beggining of his career 🥲
This Dupont chap is very good at doing the rugby 👍
Best player in the world right now. Am i wrong?
Will be the greatest player to play the game when he retires. Just have to admire everything he does
French Kiss to you 🇨🇵
I have made a conclusion about this video, Antoine Dupont is indeed very good at rugby.
Antoine Dupont is such a brilliant player. No doubt about the fact he is currently the best scrum half in the world.
But the most impressive with him is his versatility : he could be a very good player in every position between 7 and 15.
I reckon he'd make a good hooker too. He doesnt seem to own a neck and hes powerful
Not only very good, he would probably be world class in any position between 7 and 15 bar perhaps 15 because of his small height
@@financialliberty2381 I reckon hed be alright there too. Brice Dulin and Jason Robinson and Damien Mickenzie are similar heights. Dont think hogg is much taller than him either.
During the Toulouse-La Rochelle match, he played fly-half at the end of the game.
Yeah 8 and 12 would be most challenging for him. Rest, yeah easy.
Un régal ce joueur, Merci pour la vidéo !
Many thanks for this collection! He is a wizard of our time. Superb acceleration off the mark, balance in the tackle, and passing skills. His cross field kicking to the corners is laser-like.
Un maître à jouer ! Avec lui c'est toujours plus fort et tellement agréable à voir ! Le meilleur parmi les tous meilleurs.
Soon a part 2 ? One year later there are enough clips to make another one. Keep up the good work.👍
SO GOOD!! must have been a joy to edit! Thank you Andrew Forde!!
just incredibly good
His kicking game is something else.
Amazing talent and skills; a great N°9 and an outstanding player. He's got it all.
Some people are just built for certain things, this guy is just built for rugby. He has the X factor, I never really realised how good he is, one of the best rugby players ever. And he has a stunning hand-off
Somtimes you watch Antoine Dupont and it just seems unfair. The amount of skill, pace, flair, intelligence, awareness. Unreal.
Maxime Médard announced his retirement today, could you do a video on his career? That would be great, love your vids
A frightening talent
An extremely obvious video to make. I can respect it. 😎
this guy is a jewel !
He's the Maradona of rugby, meaning you can't learn to play like this. Only he can. You have it or you don't. And nobody else nowadays has it. You can only be inspired by him.
this is the best rugby account on yt - you have posted everything imaginable and im binging half the videos - great content
Antoine Dupont Superstar ! He's Fantastic ! 👍👍⭐⭐⚡⚡🏆🏆1⃣1⃣🏉🏉
12 mn is not enough but i'd take it... good one again Andrew.
Dupont is a force of nature. We all knew it even before this magnificent video by Andrew. What I didn't know though was that he has played with 10 on his back and that R92's jersey colour was powder blue.
WTF, he never played for Racing 92. Only Castres and Toulouse in top 14 !
@@mateoartero8894 he did play against them though, and R92 had jerseys, and the commentator specified the colour, and you need to pay a bit more attention to what is written exactly
He did play ten a long time ago. Last week vs Ulster in the last 10 mn he also played 10. And at Toulouse in Top 14 he sometimes helps at 10 too, but it's rare.
@@paulbismuth10 tbh it's not a huge surprise, especially with French players (Gibert, Serin, etc), but I admit I didn't know about him. Toulouse don't have a like for like replacement for Ntamack though, even with Ramos.
@@mateoartero8894 wrong. He played for another top 14 club than castres ans toulouse.
You can guess.. the club where he started. From the county where he grew up.
Not far from toulouse but not toulouse.
5 of the main top guys in the french team come from the same county. And the same team White he was at 20.
The county of peasants and duck liver.
The Man is A Genius, Makes Playing Rugby Look so Easy, Fancy France for World Cup Winners in 2023
For the title alone... subscribed :)
Et ce n’est que le début, il est encore jeune et va s’épanouir avec le temps. Avec n’tamac la France a un sacré duo !
What an asset; so genuine and gifted.
Ce gars est tellement une machine ! Incroyable
Looking at him, I always think he looks like THE rugby made as a- man, like Maradona was that kind of an embodiment for soccer
Dupont, sans doute le meilleur demi de mêlée au monde.
The Most Dangerous Man in the World.
What a wonderful athlete!!!
These are insane, hes so well rounded.
Late to comment as I've been on me hols. (a) @Andrew Forde you have some of the best Rugby content, thanks a lot (b) Dupont: Strength, Speed, Situational Awareness, Skill. He is thrilling to watch and a fantastic advert for what Rugby can sometimes be. I blooody love him.
The best ever before long
One of the best to ever do it.
the world cup 2023 is going to be exciting 🔥
Du génie à l'état pur. Au football US il serait à la fois quaterback, attaquant et défenseur...
Almost one year later and you can easily add 5 minutes of insane highlights.
One of my favorite clip is missing. It's a forward roll surrounded by chasing players, once on his feet he keeps on running ( no more than 3 stride if i remember correctly) and he delivers a sublime lobbing pass to it's winger who scores. It's hard to describe but it's mindblowing accrobatic stuff with otherwordly skills. It's with Toulouse.
He's just from outer space, Dupont is an alien ! 😮
His skill level is beyond any justifiable comparison. His rugby IQ is off the charts. He reads the game much like a chess master would read his board. Always in the right place. Completely fearless. You must account for him at all times or risk the consequences. Dupont is the ultimate game changer.
Best player in the world right now, and will be for the foreseeable future. Already in the discussion for the GOAT.
This guy is a beast
Fixed title : *** 12 minutes of rugby being very good at Antoine Dupont ***
This title is a pleonasm
Il court dans les airs!
For our fellow English speaking pals, the phrase that Dupont says to Alldritt at the very beginning of the video is "Fais la passe" which is "'pass me the ball". Very good positioning, Dupont is kinda always where somebody should be. What a player, it's always a pleasure to see him (and the others too) play
Antoine Dupont is a rugby dream
When Jesus is such a fan of rugby, that he comes to play with the mortals.
c'est tout de même des performances exceptionnelles !
The goat
He isn't a rugby payer, he's rugby.
One of the greatest scrum half's... ever?
Bit early to say that
I mean... 2 french championships, one champions cup, one grand slam, all while being the best player on his team seems quite impressive already
@@xavierb7877 oh yeah he certainly has the talent but still early I'd say
Yeah that's fair, clearly has the potential but we might need to see more
Highest level ever to be reached at rugby in my opinion
I think Dupont has the confidence to push his limits, just because his offloading skills are equally as menacing.
He's quite good at rugby
This man would be an international standard:
Back row forward
Fly half
Centre
Wing
Disgustingly good
That's really what sets him apart from all the other backs I've seen for the last 25 years
And not only international standard, he might actually be world class in all those positions.
Undeniably the best player in the world
This is why they shouldn't write of short players so quick in their younger years. They can turn into the best players.
Can someone please tell Ben Youngs that it's okay to recycle the ball as quickly as Dupont?
Even half as quick would be an improvement 😆
@@Weirdanimator Ben Youngs recycles the ball???? 🤣
Au football on a eu Zinédine Zidane! Mais au rugby on a maintenant Antoine DUPONT!!
Dupont is a kind of Messi for rugby.
I would be interested to see him play in different positions. I have a feeling he has the strength and talent to be excellent pretty much in any position bar prop or 2nd row.
What a joy to watch.
The only scrum half I've seen who's comparable to Gareth Edwards, and as such one of the greatest ever.
He might just be the strongest pound for pound player at international level at the moment. He reminds me of former English winger, Jason Robinson, the way he runs.
Fantastic compilation
How a scrum-half can master the hand-off like a center...
Yeah, not bad, might even have challenged for my place if we played at the same time!🤣
My favourite thing about Dupont is when he pretends not to understand English when he doesn't want to listen to someone!!
He couldn’t hear the questions of the journalist, in the interview you refer to. That’s why he asked his buddy to answer for him.
@@dam2855 He's done it several times, it's a running joke now!
@@leithscrumhalf4143 smart move ! Didn’t know that !
You can watch an amazing documentary about Dupont, called Premières danses : Antoine Dupont. With english subtitles
That was thoroughly enjoyable
If Gareth Edward's played today, this would be how good he would look. The two best scrum halves of my lifetime.
Meilleur joueur du monde actuellement 👍
His hand-off is incredible. Just shoves the tacklers away.
Excellent player with enormous physical quality, moreover he has improved on his footwork which is good today. However I think it still has some points where it can improve:
. Faster passes (ball speed)
. Do not almost always carry the ball out of a ruck, from time to time yes, but in moderation, for the game to be fluid and fast you have to make the pass directly when the ball is available, of course you have to the team is well organized also in attack)
. Varied the more pass receiver eg skipped more often players during a pass can create uncertainty in the defense, not always passing the pass to the player closest to either.
As for carrying the ball from time to time, it's good but not all the time, from time to time because it allows defenders to be mobilized, especially when you know Antoine, and therefore creates spaces around him, but the disadvantage of almost always doing this is that it slows down the game in general (except if someone manages to make a breakthrough thanks to the space created) but against teams that are good at defending if they do it all the time it slows down considerably the game
Well, I'm not a rugby specialist and I wouldn't want Antoine to be restricted in his game, and besides, he must continue to try things thanks to his physical qualities!
But here are for me the big points on which he can still work.
I don't know maybe what I'm saying is wrong, if so don't hesitate to answer me.
I just hope that if it's right, that Antoine is aware of it.
And not even shown is his incredible tackle on the line against Ireland...
Jeeze this guy is ubdieniably the best halfback in the world and easily the est player of 2021
12 minutes of Antoine Dupont
7:07 this is why he is the best in the world.. under pressure and made it look so damn easy
