I got chills of nostalgia watching this episode. Castles and Coasters AKA Golf N’ Stuff is a slice of my childhood. My family went there regularly from the mid 80s to the mid 90s when the roller coasters were built. My best memory was a church lock in for our youth group in the spring of 1990. We had full access to everything. I spent most of the night in the arcade trying to beat Strider. Man, good times.
That’s so awesome man, that’s exactly what I want. People to get that rush of nostalgia from something happy in their past. Wow; you had a lock in at the park?!? That must have been a lot of fun. Where did everyone sleep? In the arcade ? 🤔.
Another great episode! It felt like SO much happened in this one. If I ever go to Phoenix I'll have to check out Castles N Coasters! I'm also kicking myself since I went to Vegas twice and never checked out the Pinball Museum! What a mistake. Great episode guys, this is one of the very few RUclips productions I actually make a point to watch on my TV rather than my laptop. Its TV quality!
We go to Castles & Coasters 3-4 times a year, usually in the winter when it is less busy. The kids run all over the park but I spend all my time in the arcade. That 2nd floor with the retro games are really cool.
I'm excited for part 2 where a truck packed with all of these games pulls up in front of Ralph's garage. Damn! I send out my chassis to Sharp Image repair a little over a year ago. Great to see them on the video, too! They do great work.
I'm not jealous at all! Another great vid. So good to see that retro cabs, monitors, spares etc are still out there. The guy making a living from refurbishing the CRT's just shows the scene is alive and well!
Love this show! Thanks for keeping the arcades alive and well. You’re a naturally good tv personality. Keep up the great work and can’t wait to see what’s next!
Great show Ralph! You are killing it with chasing Nostalgia! I’m older than the first video games, so I got into pong, etc through my dads love of Pinball Machines. It’s like you are going backwards from my evolution. Been watching for a long time and it seems like you are happier than ever. Thanks for being our eyes into some of these places we’ll never get to see in person.
Thanks so much Michael, I’m having a blast! I think we’re just scratching the surface. So many awesome things to be discovered. I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series. Thank you for watching and supporting it 🙏🏼
Very awesome. Very nostalgic for me. I grew up in Vegas and remember that little pinball place late 90s early 2000s when it was located in a quaint little shopping center a few miles away. I would ride my skateboard there after school and marvel at these guys fixing these old machines and pump every quarter I could find into these machines. We were recently there too. I spend way too much time poking around in that corner with the broken machines. 😂 there was some seriously fun stuff in that corner. I think a few hours into the visit I was physically drug back to the car. Great video!
Last time I went to Castles N Coasters was back in the late 2000s, and it was arcade nirvana. Growing up in the 90s during the fighting game boom, it was so great to see the staples again like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc.
@@RetroRalph I did find out about it through a RUclips ad (though I've previously watched your A1U videos), so the marketing is at least kind of working!
Hi Ralph, loved the video! I've lived in Phoenix my whole life and i've been to Castles 'N Coasters many times. The arcade sure has changed a lot over the years, but I love that they still have the retro cabinets. Very cool to see the old arcade parts stored on the roof! Haven't been since they added that pizzeria, but it looks pretty tasty! Hopkins manufactured both the Desert Storm and Patriot Roller Coasters, as well as the Splashdown log flume in the early 1990's. That was when the name was changed from Golf 'N Stuff to Castles 'N Coasters. There's still a Golf 'N Stuff in Tuscon AZ and also Ventura CA & Norwalk CA.
Thanks so much for watching! It must have been cool to see the new arcade transition over the years. Cole shared a lots of pictures with us of its progression. Anyhow, thank you for taking the time to comment, much appreciated 🙏🏼
Castles and Coasters looks awesome! Great episode and thanks for sharing these cool places. It's amazing all the graveyard parts they had. Very cool stuff.
Man what I would give to have just an old shell of a stand up arcade, I really think I want to build something around a modern setup, always loved the idea of being able to game or watch news or throwback action films all on a stand up machine, truly awesome episode again here, can't believe those crt repairs, mind blown 👍
Amazing. The quality's of production is amazing. The contents of the show is great. Well done. You have such a love for what you are doing. Once again well done.
On top of stellar content, your production quality is every bit as good as stuff you'd see on the Discovery Channel. I know it's a bit nerdy, but I get a rush going through old arcade parts. I just scored a Tempest (non-working, of course) for $400 last week, and the guy had a Super Hang-On that has all the parts I need to make mine look so much better for $100. I'll probably pick that up next week. Great stuff as always, Ralph!
I know exactly what you mean! I love digging through PCBs. I actually went back the other day and found a GI Joe PCB. It wasn’t working but still fun to uncover these old boards. There was crazy climber, donkey Kong and several others. I need to go back and see if Cole will let me inventory everything. Thanks again for the kind words and for watching.
So awesome seeing you in the comment man! I hope all is well. I’m backlogged on your episodes. I’m going to get caught up over the weekend! Thanks for watching my friend!
Thanks my dude, I appreciate you watching! Mason killed it on this one. Well, he always does but his B-Roll game was off the charts on this one. Thanks again man!
So beautifully done! So close to home! I’ve loved that arcade for all my life so it’s so amazing to see behind the scenes and everything! You even picked up what looked like a konami board at 8:23, I’ve got a silent scope project out here in Tempe but heck, I’ll have to talk to C&C out there! You inspire me greatly so thank you for all you do man!
Dude! I just found this channel. WOW! I'm hooked already. Can't wait to check out the rest of your videos! I have a very small retro gaming channel myself, with a mix of new stuff in there too. You have just inspired me to really step up my game! I love finding more people that still appreciate the games we grew up with. As I always say down in The Matcave, "keep retro gaming alive, because one day, your games...will be retro, too."
Awesome video Ralph as usual. I live in Vegas and never knew the Sharp Image Repair shop was here in town. Now I know where to repair my broken CRT's lol.
17:53 Theres a company in IL (Mold-A-Rama) that still makes those Souvenir Mold Machines for multiple places in the area. Our local zoo has a bunch of them.
Yo! Mr. A/C OF PHOENIX AZ. HERE. CASTLE N COASTERS WAS MY 1ST JOB AT 17YEARS OLD 1995... LOVED THAT PLACE. STILL DO . LOG RIDE MY FAVE! MINI GOLF WOOOOO! GREAT VIDEO...THE BURGERS WERE THE BEST.
Ralph this was top tier quality. I must have paused a hundred times to see everything. Amazing job to you and Mason both. There was so much going on in this episode it could have easily been an hour and still too short. I hope there's some b roll knocking around for future vids. Awesome sauce, sweet charlie!

So cool man, I grew up in Lincoln, RI and we would go to Rocky Point often in the summer, I always loved that place. It's a shame that it's no longer around. Thanks so much for watching!
I had to watch 2 times. It was good I can't say it was the best. I wish you spend a little more time looking at different arcade systems. I felt it kind of got a little boring. Loved all your others. You need to a full video of their grave yard be fun see some history in there. Now you got spare parts. I DO LOVE WHAT YOU GUYS DO. Thanks for your hard work.
This stuff is amazing! Might have to arrange a weekend and head up the coast for an Arcade Day, haven't done that in a few years now but this series has been pulling on my heartstrings to go back and check out the Arcades I went to as a kid. One of the big ones I know shut down permanently during the pandemic which really sucks as it was massive and had some awesome machines.
Glad you made it to Vegas and Pinball HOF. Both are wonderful places. The current location for Pinball HOF just opened recently and I used to visit the old one frequently. It's both a godsend to the hobby and a real time warp in terms of what cash based pinball game centers and video arcades in general used to be. Very fortunate to have this available in 2022 and with such dedicated support. Also glad you found Sharp Image Repair. Henry has been servicing my own hardware for years - great guys! Super lucky to have this option local to me. Castles and Coasters looks awesome. Definitely taking my kids here if we're ever near the Phoenix area. Love your work and really appreciate it!

woah that's quite the arcade! definitely gotta find something closer to us where the wife and I live! and then the PHOF! I was visiting my aunt in vegas almost a decade ago and I got to go up to their old location, it was pretty impressive! I did throw some quarters at a few of the pinball games, like the TRON Legacy machine, but I think most of my change went to their classic arcade stuff. donkey kong, space invaders, joust, defender... all the classics!! maybe someday I'll get back out there to see their new location seems like it's twice as big!! I feel you though I'm more into the arcade side of stuff. another great episode I love this series seeing all the cool arcade stuff and the mountain of old arcade parts and monitors.
If you can make it out to the new location and think you would be very impressed. The building is a lot bigger and they have even more pinball and arcade games. Hopefully you can make it out there sometime. Thanks so much for watching!
Wow wow wow this party just keeps on going and going amazing I love it. You guys just get better and better all around I’m so impressed and love watching this show. I can watch it all day everyday it never gets old. Rexer is the man I can’t believe he’s getting that Narc monitor going bravo bravo. Hopefully you guys did some Vegas stuff that was too hot for TV 📺! BEST EPISODE YET KEEP IT COMING! I’m about to watch it again now back to back
Badass! It’s crazy to think how many more arcade graveyards are out there just waiting to be appreciated again. Indiana Jones style. Great job you guys!✌️❤️
I can’t believe Ralph took 🦇 THE BATMAN 🦇 to Vegas! He is the best! I’m still waiting for Conrad to hide in Klassic Kim’s luggage 🧳 when Ralph takes her to Europe
This was so good Ralph, well shot well told. Really enjoyed it. Could have used just a tiny bit more pinball coverage at the Pinball Hall of Fame though....maybe just a smidge. Yeah if i ever make it to Arizona, have to check that place out...maybe even just for the pizza. Also my jealousy was overrunning when you guys were eating In N Out
I agree with you in the pinball coverage. We could honestly do a whole episode on that place. We actually almost didn’t get to film in there at all. It’s a long story that we will likely tell in a behind the scenes or something. Thanks so much for your support my friend, it means a lot!
The production value of this video is amazing! Should be a TV show and come on after Pawn Stars on History Channel! Mason has big future ahead of him!!!
yep, vegas is a 4 hour drive from me where im at in the OC, and i spend 3-4 hours a day at the pinball hall of fame every day im there. whats great is, i have most if not all of the pinball games in virtual form on my VP Ultra in my arcade.
Good job Ralph and Mason. Really enjoyed this episode, could've done without the In and Out Burger (made me hungry) Vegas is awesome and I loved the arcade graveyard. In the small world department, I think I saw a buddy who works for the Knights in a random background shot. lol - Was a tough angle to see him enough for me to be sure. I went back and watched it a few times. Anyway, look forward to the next episode. Both you and Mason are extremely talented.
Great video once again Ralph! There is a Sharper Image in Vegas? Man I wish I knew. Would have taken my Nanao chassis from the Blast to get it capped and cleaned (im not going to even attempt lol) when I stopped in late last year. Thanks for showing us these awesome arcade places.
Very cool vid!! Castles and Coasters looks awesome!! Family owned and built in 77 - Epic!

That’s awesome! I’m sure there are ton of other places I should check out in Vegas, any suggestions?
Wow wow wow this party just keeps on going and going amazing I love it. You guys just get better and better all around I’m so impressed and love watching this show. I can watch it all day everyday it never gets old. Rexer is the man I can’t believe he’s getting that Narc monitor going bravo bravo. Hopefully you guys did some Vegas stuff that was too hot for TV 📺! BEST EPISODE YET KEEP IT COMING! I’m about to watch it again now back to back
My dude! Thanks so much! It’s my favorite one so far so it means a lot! ✊🏼🔥. You rock brother! Thank you for always supporting me man.
The production quality of your videos is fantastic.
Much appreciated, thank you so much for watching!
Badass! It’s crazy to think how many more arcade graveyards are out there just waiting to be appreciated again. Indiana Jones style. Great job you guys!✌️❤️
There’s stuff everywhere, it’s crazy how much stuff is locked away somewhere. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you so much, we’re going to keep trying. ✊🏼
Great episode, I hope a network is seeing this and wants to pick it up as a full on show, you’d be killer at it
Thank you so much for your support!!
I really enjoyed the episode!
yep, vegas is a 4 hour drive from me where im at in the OC, and i spend 3-4 hours a day at the pinball hall of fame every day im there. whats great is, i have most if not all of the pinball games in virtual form on my VP Ultra in my arcade.
Excellent show Ralph! Was at pinball hall of fame a few weeks ago. Place is awesome!
It was great!! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the kind words! Sorry for making you hungry. 😉
Thanks so much for watching bud, really appreciate you taking the time to comment as well. 🙏🏼
That was awesome.
Thanks man, much appreciated 🙏🏼
Awesome episode 👍🏻
Nice episode, I really enjoyed it. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for watching!
Another awesome video.
Thanks bud 🙏🏼
Bravo bravo can’t wait
Great video once again Ralph! There is a Sharper Image in Vegas? Man I wish I knew. Would have taken my Nanao chassis from the Blast to get it capped and cleaned (im not going to even attempt lol) when I stopped in late last year. Thanks for showing us these awesome arcade places.
I put their contact info in the video description so check them out if you need a chassis repair. They do really amazing work. Thanks for watching!
Can’t watch this on my phone. Time to cast this to the 83”. Let’s goooooo!!!!
Yeah baby ✊🏼🔥 haha I hope you enjoy it!
Can you please go back, and give a detailed list of parts for us?! =D
Yes please and I'd also like to know the make and model of the socks you chose to wear during the filming of this episode. Thanks!
Wait…Ralph is actually wearing socks on this one? Now this must be an epic episode!!! 🤩🔥
They have those plastic mold machines at the zoo here...Each section of the zoo has different ones with different animals...
They’re so cool, right?
