I was an adult when I first saw this show and became fond of it. Polaris is a great band and Pete And Pete became a big part of nostalgia for me. Waiting For October is my favorite song from the show and still listen to it to this day
As a kid, I recorded this song on VHS at the end of Pete & Pete episodes and then dubbed the fragments together to try to recreate the whole song. It was tricky because the Nickelodeon host would always start talking over the song at a different place. "Next stay tuned for My Brother and Me..." I was glad when the cereal box cassette came out and even gladder when the whole soundtrack was released years later.. These songs mean the world to me. I need to catch Polaris live!
Listening to this song makes me feel like a kid again..back when Nickelodeon was king. I got home from school, it was the weekend, and me and my brothers would watch Pete and Pete every Sunday night...man I'd give anything to turn back the clock and relive all that.
@@kennyomalley991Absolutely right. I turned ten in 94. Heck of a time to be a kid. No internet, no 9/11, no pocket computers. Kids got to do kid things... like watch Pete & Pete. But right now... October is still only 29 minutes away.
This is probably the most 90s alt rock song of all time. When heroin won't cut it and I'm fed up with Smashing Pumpkins and REM, I mainline Polaris. Just let that subtle guitar riff scratch your mind and you are good to go... to October. Next up, Summerbaby, or even better, the Pete & Pete Theme Song. I love the fact that this is a quasi fictional band that produced a real album for the show and really toured. Awesome.
Heroin??? drugs aren't the answer my dear... please don't use them at all.. I pray God opens your eyes and touches your heart as He loves you and you should love yourself too :)
Halloweenie is my favorite Pete and Pete episode and this song is so awesome in every way, I never thought I'd ever feel nostalgia for the 90's but I guess there were some goods things about that time.
of all the examples of "peak" 90's culture that couldn't exist again (all the ubiquitous angst, existential crisis, innuendo and cigarettes) the lyrics in this bittersweet ditty are so charismatically mumbled, no one thinks twice about the "daddy's taking off his belt" line being in a kids show haha... fun, nostalgic video, good job 👍🏻
Awesome video of an awesome song, with perfect clips from an episode that coincidentally is both one of the best Halloween specials I have ever seen in my life, and one of the best general episodes of one of the greatest shows Nickelodeon has ever made.
Oversize black turtleneck, Petunia tattoo on the forearm, Red plaid hunting cap + red wig = Lil Pete Wrigley Halloween Costume. Now all you have to do is wait for October.
Ready as hell for spring, but I'm also waiting for October :) as an east coaster, holy hell this is an amazing month around here. Then it goes to shit with seasonal depression in November, but at least we get that dream of a month before.
Any Pete and Pete fans know that the movie Snow Day was originally written to be the finale of the Pete and Pete story? However by the time they had the project greenlit, Mike and Danny aged out of their roles, so they had to rewrite the script to be a stand alone movie. The creators, Chris and Will, said this was the biggest regret of their careers.
"And that's when human history will die. … 'Cause it all ends in 1999 and commences on the 28th." Happy 20th anniversary of the death of human history!
You should check out the show, it's brilliant. Fun factoid, the people that made Pete and Pete went on to make the show Scrubs. Some similarities exist
Awesome video. I was in high school when P and P was on but still loved it but I never saw Halloweenie until two days ago ! I am a Halloween freak and think Halloweenie is the best Halloween episode ever ! Tonmorow I will be boardibg my windows to keep zombies out. Oct is finally here !
If you told us back then that our future would suck this bad, we wouldn't have believed you... maybe a toxic wasteland or a bombed out desert, sure, but this?!
The theme of this song has nothing to do with Halloween but really more about nuclear war. Just carefully listen and comprehend the lyrics and notice the explosion at the very end. Great song though!
Nah, you’re thinking of a Walk the Dinosaur. (Then again, Hey Cindy, the Pete and Pete theme song, was long rumored to be about the same tragedy as CSNY’s Ohio so who knows?)
Pete and Pete has to be the best kids show ever made. It still holds up to this day for being a 30 year old show.

Probably the best Polaris song. Sweet melodies, killer harmonies, that guitar sounds so jangly and perfect.

Do you know the name of the song that played at end of later season episodes where he sang "she's gone she's gone"????
@@redbass7 Yeah it’s The Monster’s Loose ruclips.net/video/z2ZNahHQ790/видео.html

Oh! You took me back with your description. Good play, good man!
Watching Pete and Pete, listening to this jam and I’m taken back to a better time. The 90’s were a great time to be growing up!

SNICK was the dopest thing to look forward to all week. especially the 5 show 93-94 lineup that went until 10:30. what a time to be a kid, huh guys?
Dam straight!!! 90’s was an awesome time! Love this show and old Nickelodeon ❤️

This show is magic.
Great time to have been a kid!! I miss the 90’s! ❤️💯
Mid September I always think of this song
For the past 6 years I try to listen to this song at least once every September.

Waiting for October myself. I'm tired of this hot summer weather.
Here we are at the beginning of November 8 years later from your comment, and I'm waiting myself
