    Doesn't isomerisation (glucophosphoisomerase) change the hexose into a pentose sugar (fructose-1,6-bisphosphate) before the molecule is split?

      You use the isomerise enzyme between the first and second phosphorylation

      Glucose to glucose 6 phosphate. Then isomerization to produce fructose 6 phosphate. Then finally it’s the phosphorylation of f6p to produce fructose 1 6bp

    I have a question why can’t you just use 2 phosphate groups from 1 ATP rather than one phosphate group each from 2 ATPS

    When atp gives a phosphate and becomes adp, what would you call it?

      It is hydrolysed

      water is added to break the bond between the phosphate groups releasing one of the 3 phosphate groups so the molecule is said to be hydrolysed forming ADP and releasing 30.5 kJ of energy
