I gave up using the Ducati Connect and Sygic app. I just use my phone mounted where you've done the Evotech mount. I use google maps. I'm hoping Ducati realizes the train wreck software combination and just allows users to pair their own navigation to the screen.
Yes totally agree it’s rubbish and not worth using. The only issue I found with my phone is in remote areas is navigation signal isn’t the best. So my tomtom rider with the evotech bracket has been excellent. 👍
Somewhere in Bologna there's a VP of engineering trying really hard to justify his job, and he should be let go. To make it simple, a terrible app from Ducati (Ducati Connect), to be able to send GPS data from a single terrible navigation app (Sygic) via a wonky metwork connection and a cumbersome connectivity sequence. Next time Ducati, have the connection rely on the usb cable and let people use CarPlay or Android Auto.
Wonderful videos! I would add: there is the ability to add favorites into the Sygic App, in advance, making it easier to retrieve and launch specific locations without having to key them in, but you need to be stopped to see favorites (I think). Also when the bike is not moving you can key in your destination into the phone, and when you switch back to bike mode it should match up. I just got an email from Ducati advising the are adding some updates to the software including the ability to keep the nav on while stopped for a while. I will try and post under another entry.
From Ducati on upcoming software updates: Connection with Ducati Connect active up to 20 minutes after key-off When the bike is turned off, a dedicated indication will appear on the instrument panel, inviting you to press the joystick if you want to keep the connection active: in this way, when restarting after a short stop, Ducati Connect will be immediately available without any waiting time. Music and navigation audio volume In addition to acting directly on the smartphone system audio via the switch joystick, it will also display the level set on the instrument panel. Call management during navigation mirroring In the event of an outgoing call made by Ducati Connect, it will be possible to go back or to go to the navigation screen of the bike. Phone and Music Player feature This feature will also be available in Enduro and Sport riding modes.
Thanks Kevin, yes the email I received was welcoming. The 20 mins connected after turning off is a good idea and I’m sure those little issues will be sorted out.
Hi, I have the same app on my Suzuki gsxs1000gt the app is so slow to respond and I could not get the sound to work on my headset I have a Samsung a52 , I tried it on my wife's Iphone. I had the same problem. I have bought a garmin sumo sat nav I have ran out of patience with the Sygic app.
Totally agree, this app should of never been invented. Why spend money developing something that don’t work, all that does is annoy us. My TomTom set up never fails me. I use a sena headset which works most of the time. Thanks for the comment it’s always interesting to know I’m not the only one that had issues with this app. 👍

Bought a mount from "Iconic Part" and installed my Garmin Zumo XT on Top of the reg. Screen. Not sure why Ducati used such a terrible Navigation Software like Sygic, why not integrated Apple Play or Android Car or any other Software like Here or Garmin or TomTom. Sygic from Bosch is such a bad incorrect navigation System. By the way what mount is that you using?
I understand why they did it the way that they did but my complaint is with Sygic generally: If you want to get to an address, it's fine. If you want to set a route for a day ride, it requires some time. Making custom routes is far more painful than it needs to be. With snow on the ground, I've been planning and creating routes now so that I don't need to futz around when it's time to ride.

@@thatbikersimon I expect the update to make connectivity better, or at least less wonky, but the problems with Sygic aren't going away. I think they just don't fundamentally understand the motorcycle market (i.e. finding the shortest/quickest route from A to B isn't our top priority).

Hi, I’m guessing so but I’ve not fully tested it yet. Il shall do a update on my next video, the weather has been horrible just recently so I’ve not had the chance to ride out but hopefully next week will be the one.
On an unrelated question. What is the charger used? I noticed that it is not the usual car cigarette lighter charger. It is smaller size. I couldn’t find the details in the manual, so not sure what it is.
I seriously wonder if gthis is a hardware issue. Chip too slow? Memory not enough? The chip can't go back and forth, between the heated grips and keep the maps open???? What happen to computers that could multitask??? Question: Has anyone seen if the connectivity is BETTER when the phone is in the tank pouch? Maybe the sensor is in there?? I have my garmin mounted next to the left handgrip via the mount on the steering stem bolt on my 950. I do have the central mount from ducati, but decided I just like having it near my left hand, if I want to change or enter anything it is close to my thumb or finger.
There’s a big software update out soon (next week) that’s supposed to sort all theses issues out. I’m looking forward to this. So il make sure I put a video out and find out what’s going off. 👍
I could understand it being crap if Sygic was built in to the MS, but to make you use your phone and not allow other Nav apps is absolutely criminal for a £20K+ bike.
Just add Apple and Android car apps...Sygic is a disaster. the load time to do all the connection is minutes IF it connects the first time. Then you can only play music ON your phone and no spotify or other apps. Absolute trash for a $30k bike when something is already in place, tried and tested
