the problem with fighting players over gold would be that everyone just uses the noob tube bow with explosive arrows. if your in defensive mode to disable their lock on that’s all they use on you is dynamite arrows.
I want a rancher role where wild horses are utilized, you raise cattle and have drives, even hire ncp cowboys. Also actually fix the roping where you dally and have brandings and such tasks a rancher does.
And have those random chores like in the single-player epilogue, where you can feed the chicken, chop wood, shovel manure, etc. Sometimes I don't really feel like doing anything grand, but I still wanna play. So I enjoy doing those simple tasks that are just relaxing.
(Rubs magic lamp) Genie: What are your 3 wishes? Me: I just want Man vs. History to become the new lead creative director at Rockstar? Genie: And the other two? Me: Did I stutter?
No it should go: Me: I just want Man vs. History to become the new lead creative director at Rockstar? Genie: you know what, thats a good idea, that ones on me!
@@ManvsHistory Rockstar wants griefers to be a thing. It will likely happen. Trapper is kind of bland since by this logic it would be easier & faster to hunt animals than waiting for traps. Miner will be most likely but you will likely get worst payout ever.
@@vedrannikolic4278 Since that canoe idea the trapper role should be more along the lines of the fisher role, including both together as an expansion to the trader role.
Man vs. History another way is that if you get killed by a player that you already pressed charges on, you could alert the sheriff by pressing a button in the death screen and a sherif play could show up within a time limit like the bounty hunter mission system and kill them to get a small reward. The quicker the kill, the the better the pay
I would love a role that lets you catch wild horses and sell them for more money the better trained they are. It feels so weird breaking a wild horse but then only getting a five minute ride out of it because I can’t bond or sell them like in story
I like the idea of a sheriff. I feel it would really help mitigate the griefing problem online if it's implemented in the right way. It would also fit well with some other roles if we had a system for outlaws and vigilantes as an umbrella for the other roles because they would work against eachother to make the game more immersive.
The goldrush idea was amazing i would love to see rockstar make us travel with some of our stuff. To see like 20 or more players going on the same route to find gold would be insane. One more thing they could add would be satchels or backpacks since they say they have immersion but i carry 30kg of meat in my pockets. Anyways great video man
Agreed! Thanks Journey! I picture long lines of players making their way with full packs, dropping off gear, and making repeated runs. Funny how that gold rush was more remembered for the difficulty in getting to the gold fields than the actual amount of gold found. 2/3rds turned around... that says something.
Man vs. History yeah and for the backpacks there are already tons of models in the game so they could code it onto playermodel and we could carry our stuff that way and the maybe use it as cosmetic or something
@@yh__47.l97 I suppose I'm getting too deep in the weeds here, but I'd love it if the amount of stuff you carried was reflected in a pack you wore on your back. Don't want to carry a pack, don't carry so much stuff. Want to carry a bunch of stuff? Be prepared to have a huge pack on your back that slows you down. Seems reasonable to me.
I wish they had done inventory limits by weight, and the more weight you carry the slower you and your horse move. I want to have an incentive to travel light.
Ill add to that idea: Legendary horses we can break and keep, as good or better than the existing top tier horses. Maybe even able to sell them to other players who dont want to do the work?
i would love to see a pinkerton role honestly, maybe it could be a variant of the sheriff role where you choose to work for in-game buisness and instead of many targets they give you one in specific that is ruining their buisess and the pay outs could be even higher than a normal outlaw in the sheriff role
A gunslinger role would be dope, alongside a duel system. I'm fairly pissed off when a griefer just shoot me from a mountain while I want a good close-range gunfight.
@@ijustwantmyphonecall6947 the solution is the introduction of scope wear and accuracy Debuffs over time, with magnifications probably stuck at most at 3x, and be VERY expensive to install, as the cost for it’s optic, nevermind it’s mount, probably cost more than the gun. Preferably also have all the guns use projectiles instead of hitscan if they don’t already.
@@baker90338 Adding onto this idea, I'd say having to actually account for bullet drop, windage and the like, even if not extreme amounts like a simulator, would make marksmen a lot more rare.
I would love to see a transporter role. you could start off with just your horse then get bigger and buy stages, boats, and trains. And you would have to defend from people trying to rob you.
Sorry it took me so long to comment, Perfesser, but I had to watch the video a couple or three times. This has to be your best to date! To Rockstar: I know you'll likely never implement this passionate man's brilliant ideas, but I would gladly pay triple figures to play the game Man vs. History just proposed. Perfesser, keep them coming, please!
Homesteader/rancher, fisherman, trapper, miner, cowboy, lawman/sheriff/deputy, tycoon owner( Like Leviticus Cornwall), stagecoach driver, I could keep going on, but these are all roles I would enjoy
me: sir do you know how fast you were going him: no sir, but I know it's faster than your horse me: alright, get off the horse sir you're clearly not sober him: well catch me if you can
Lawman role would be great, love the ideas, I feel like there should be a shopkeeper role though, where you can own and run businesses, hire NPCs or even other players to run businesses for you, manage holding companies, etc., and I feel like a nice contrast to that would be, well, an outlaw role, also a contrast to any of the other law-abiding roles, where you get to rob trains, banks, wagons, etc., build a gang, hide out in the wilderness, get chased out of the west by the law, and ultimately end up getting killed by some guy named Micah cause you got TB and were too weak to fight back as your very gang was falling apart.
I would personally really enjoy a caravan job where your player would have to either lead or guard a caravan over the course of a few days in game irl an hour or two and as a reward for getting the caravan to its destination safe you would get say 50$ And your pay would reduce if the caravan had lost some people or carts
I propose a soldier role: You have some element of law enforcement, you could guard the military forts, you could engage in battles against gangs of undesirables, guard player stuff like how the Army guards Cornwall's stuff in the story, and it would be the ideal role for those that want to raise hell and kill other players, but this time, not maliciously, like if they have a big criminal gang, you could engage in such fights and skirmishes. I would imagine it would be kinda controversial of a role though, considering the Military-Native skirmishes of the past.
For the officer role i think that it would be a good idea to be able to choose missions where you track down gangs. Similarly to the way the pinkertons tracked down the van der lin gang. Then throughout the game you can look for hidden clues that will decrease the time of finding them. or wait for the gang to do a bank or train job. This doesnt need to be shown in yellow with a path on the map of where to go. But a gray encounter signal on the map. Which once you open it will either be on a bank or you will see that the train has stopped in the middle of nowhere and the signal is there. Therefore the gang is there. You can miss the signal. And you have to ride fast as you can catch them at the scene and interrogate to find the camp location, or if you are to late, you can interrogate the victims or track footsteps leading to the camp. . Once you find the gang camp location you can have your player deputies and (npc) try and arrest them at their camp. Within the gang there are the most wanted. These are the ones you need to capture alive. And the rest you fight like the npc in some of the bounty missions. Once you capture them you and your deputies get a reward (named differently for the purposes of you being an officer not bounty hunter) however, not all gangs are as brutal as others. Some may even remind you of the van der lin gang. So you have a choice either before the fight or after the fight to not capture the most wanted, the currency that would be rewarded would be gold (as we already have roles that are money farms) and items such as unique customised weapons from one of the gang members. ( the weapon cant be recreated in the gunsmith compared to the jim boy calloway side quest in the main story) clothing, hats , or even horses. You could maybe even get cosmetic items for your camp. The mission time would depend on how skillful and efficient you are at arriving and tracking, you can roam freely, go to stores and other stuff but watch out for the signal and search for clues if you want to find them. This is just my idea, and i would love it to be implemented. I might try to contact them if they have twitter or other accounts. If you have more ideas then please add them
@@rokkfel4999 well depends because if they do it where you can be a good or bad lawman it wouldn't matter. Like if you have low honor you might lose respect from other lawmen.
Felix Brand yeah or maybe can’t call a posse or something like that since well crooked lawman and all or if your good go out less reputable people won’t share info or may hide the person from you forcing you to do things a more difficult way
I like a cartographer role! RDO could could be expansive by adding in new areas and locations! Then you set out to explore the unknown and name locations and find resources! They literally just have to finish rendering/texturing Gurma and Mexico and there's easily hours of content there.
I want them to add a haberdashery where any players who come through it can buy supplies abs I get a cut of that plus it can be used as a fast travel point for players if I buy the upgrade and players can sleep and craft at it
All these ideas are very much needed in game. I spend a lot of time in game hunting. And I'm not talking about running around blasting (and scaring) everything in site. Being able to place scent and traps for Beaver would be much more preferably, (at least for me), than just shooting them I think it would add a bit more realism to the experience, all be it, not historically accurate for the time. As far as being able to purchase a black powder Hawken Rifle as an option for big game, would be very cool. 'Can you skin Grizz Pilgrim?' The community Bounty on a relentless griefers head is an exceptional idea. Would definitely bring forward "The Best" Bounty Hunters and Lawmen/Outlaws. Your channel is top notch sooo.... "keep it up"!👍
Thank you Swindell! Always enjoy reading your comments. I too hunt much the same way- and it does feel wrong to shoot beaver. Love the Jeremiah Johnson quote. Basically I'd like the experiences of that movie put into the game- or at least components of it.
@@ManvsHistory You've struck gold, as far as I'm concerned, with the direction the trader role could go. It's my favorite role by far. Although I am a pretty fair Bounty Hunter. But as you've pointed out. Bounty Hunting isn't to hard when you pretty much get directions. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next edition. Jeremiah Johnson... Epic to say the least...
I'm with you on the miner, I said we need a gold miner I mean that was literally the biggest thing back then outside of prostitution and I wish they would bring in the trader at least. It would give us something to work for and, like in story, just let the clothes be your reward. Maybe add some more outfits. Also I think we should have a fisherman type of role. There is so much they could do but I FOR ONE wish the game would work better online... :)
I would enjoy a role were the player could find oil somewhere and begin a oil company like livticus Cornwall and sell it to the train company’s for a huge Payment and hire employees to harvest the oil for you
I have couple of video ideas: Daltons Gang story (other gangs and their stories), famous gold miners, Hugh Glass story, famous gunslingers, famous trappers, famous sherrifs.
The one thing I want is to be able to see my satchel, like in the first and current RDR games, it would be even better to be able to upgrade and customize it. No crazy designs, just something that you would have used in that time period. I’m also a buckskinner so seeing more carrying options other than the satchel would be awesome, like the front pouch on the Goodman garden belt that you use in the Trader role. I’m still so disappointed in the amount of variety in the clothing department, especially what you can get from Gus, the trapper and his wares from the main game is leagues better.
Yeah, I think if they added in a sheriff, they should also add in the outlaw role, as they should be integrated. For example, a sheriff should be notified that an outlaw with 'X' bounty is in the session. Find and bring him to justice, dead or alive, and the bounty is yours. Seems easy enough.
@@ManvsHistory Im sure that if you hadto choose either one of the two where to switch you'd have to pay gold, sort of like old man Jones and karma, Rockstar would be more than happy to implemente it. Bank robbery, stagecoaches hold up, stealing mail from trains, kidnaping or jailbreaks! Its been rolling in my head ever since you mentionned it in the last video
The log cabin idea would nice with the addition with the rancher role and having cripps set up shop permanently at the ranch with having most the roles set up there except the moonshiners since you wouldnt want to much attention brought to your ranch.
I have a somewhat obscure but possibly fun role for the game; train engineer. With this role, players can collect deliveries from various stations and transport them by rail to other locations, such as Valentine-Saint Denis, within a set time limit. At the same time, either NPC gangs or player posses are tasked with trying to stop and rob your train, and you have to work to defend the train as it goes along. This role could also lead to more of the trains added, such as the Southern and Eastern passenger trains. At the same time, train controls could get a revamp, with a reverser option, the ability to change track, and of course, a greater top speed, a bit like the train engineer mod for the game.
Collector and Naturalist. Bounty Hunter got an update, but ultimately, it was just more of the same, and took away one of the three Bounty slots for those who don't invest in the Bounty Hunter Role Expansion. The Collector, you go around the map, finding items of value- including things you have to dig up out of the ground- and if you factor in Daily Challenges, digging up stuff can pay out Gold Nuggets. As for everything else, you want to gather up duplicate items to sell intermittently to maintain your operation, and sell in complete sets once you fill them out for the big paydays. Naturalist, if you basically ignore Harriet, and just work for Gus, you'll make a fair amount of cash by hunting and selling animal carcasses and pelts to him. Whenever you sell him a pelt, you get to keep the meat, which you can use back at camp, or sell to butcher stalls, both of which help you maintain your hunting abilities and supplies while you continue to hunt.
This video was amazing! Well worth the wait! My personal favorite role would DEFINITELY be rancher! I got a taste of it in story mode and just couldn't get enough! I've put way too much thought into this. I think it would be awesome having to herd cattle and/or sheep from open fields to pastures, or perhaps to a buyer's ranch, tame and sell horses, maybe operate a trading missions from your ranch as opposed to camp would be amazing. A mule would be cool for the role horse, and I think it would be awesome to unlock a border collie that would help with herding cattle and sheep. I think a mule could be a cool addition to the game either under the rancher or trapper role. If I designed it, it would NOT have high speed or acceleration, but it would have very good stamina, be able to carry much more in regards to hunting kills (two large kills, four medium kills?), and be much less likely to dump you in the face of danger. As a cool bonus, I'd like to see the mule have a special trait of potentially facing off with predators instead of running away. Like you mentioned regarding the log cabin, the ability to customize your ranch would be KILLER!
Great ideas, Ashley! I too am baffled as to why a mule hasn't been implemented. Would love to have one accompany me while hunting as a pack horse. As always, appreciate your patronage!
I was hoping that they would start prioritizing red dead online over gta online but nope there still gonna milk a 7 year old game that’s been on 3 console generations with no graphical improvements since the first generation
It's pronounced "Lanna-ha-see". It's actually funny that you pronounced it the way you did since there's a conversation in SP that goes over the pronunciation ha.
@@notcharlesiiofengland5276 single player. In a mission Javier pronounces it lanahachee and arthur corrects him and then Javier says English is stupid lol
Pinkerton, rancher, farmer, cattle rustler, gold miner, boat captain... AND opening up Mexico would all work for me! Also, any time I've heard it (including growing up with Front Page Challenge on CBC) Pierre Burton's name is just pronounced the Anglo way.
In the interest of historical accuracy, and since Rockstar seems hellbent to add a photographer role, the developers could expand on that and allow players to pursue a career in yellow journalism. I'm only half joking here.
I'm on board for all of your suggestions. I want to be a rancher/cattle rustler role where we protect our livestock while also building towards more property to own more animals/ranch land + upgrades/hire guards and ranch hands- something to really sink in game earned money & gold into and protect it from potential rustlers. While the opposite side of the role (Rustler) is to trespass, steal the animals/goods as discreetly as possible, and sell for profit while defending the stolen property from those who want to claim it back, as well as the implementation of more & wider variety of wild horses with the ability to break and sell them or keep for a profit loss. I play a female character so I don't see how a woman would be allowed to do any of these roles, historically. I don't think they'd ever allow for a player to engage in prostitution, but possibly being a brothel owner, a female player could become a madam. The cathouse would keep some profit, while the rest goes in your pocket, while other illicit dealings go on in back rooms like opium - all the while getting to wear swanky historically accurate clothes depending on wealth and such. I'm on board for all of your suggestions.
I like your ideas! Very thought out. Really dig your madame one- haven't heard that before. But why not? No reason to pretend like it didn't happen. Heck, it's the oldest profession in the world.
I would give my left arm and both testicles to have a rancher role. buy a property and raise cows then do a cattle drive. shit id settle for rustling cattle and taking them somewhere like the davies brothers
I, like many others, believe a rancher role would be interesting. The rancher role could start with the player being a simple cowpuncher or ranch hand, working around Valentine or Emerald Ranch to gain experience. Players could participate in trail drives to larger cities or railroad stations to get shipped. Slowly players could become trail bosses; organizing the herd or could start saving up money to buy a ranch plot. Cattle would be bought with in-game cash.
I want ALL THIS plus a Rancher role! Your ideas are fantastic. I also love the idea of the Valentine tent camp turned into a Trader/trapper's fair once a month (something you mentioned in another video).
Blacksmith role: Able to craft/upgrade melee weapons, perhaps crafting armor sets like we see in some missions. Making guns or custom parts for them. And of course crafting superior horseshoes which could have different effects, like a speed or stamina boost (or a better jump for some funny/epic moments?) You could buy or steal iron/whatever metals and would have to repair certain items occasionally.
Fantastic suggestions all three, and depth. Sheriff role or even Pinkerton role would add more mystery to the grindy feeling in Red Dead Online, the other two would be about atmosphere. - More contract killings (hunt/hunted by other players - (in certain settings) adds more pulse) many want to have feuds with other players also, its the wild west, the wild west can even be too nice sometimes. Too much waving and pouring hearts out.1) A saloon owner, 2) Cowboy (track down wild horses etc, farmwork, even heard sheep) 3) A more available gambler role? 4) Add more mystery (how to do that without people grinding them out) - work more for treasure maps like in the main story 4) Photographer 5) Judge - or not 6) Updated random enchounters
Ok im gonna be honest i love these because they would work great as role spin offs cause gold miner/prospector would be a nice spin off or just add on to collector role lawman spin off to the bounty hunter and trapper could just be a add on to trader but i would prefer a full role to it where you would also use the entire animals carcass needing a field skinning and butchering kit this would obviously take more or less time depending on animal too but all in all amazing
Oh also love the content especially the historical accurate characters its helped me a lot making my outfits I’ve usually modified them but still pretty historically accurate and they look amazing so thk
Another thing they should do is raise the player count per server to something like 100 or 150 because it’s not like they don’t have the Indy for good servers and the map is huge so there wouldn’t be any overcrowding
The Sheriff role would be so welcome! I just started RDRonline a few weeks ago but I have played alot since then. Even went as far as to make my character an historically accurate lawmen (Wild Bill-based). Thanks so much for these amazing videos.
I think they should make the servers bigger if they added a sheriff role just because if you joined a 20 man server and mist are cops you’re gonna get bounties left and right but the gold mining would be perfect considering the bounty hunter role is the only thing that gives us gold rn
All I want is for you to become an advisor for rockstar and for you to play an active role in helping design the updates. That would be the coolest thing ever
I like the sound of the gold miner role, a few of my ancestors left Cornwall in the mid to late 1800s when the mines started shutting down and emigrated to places like Wisconsin and Michigan, so that would be quite cool.
I personally want to have cattle drives with big payouts that take you from on end of the map to the other with other players protecting from npc bandits or even player bandits who try to steal the cattle for themselves
Idea for the miner: Maybe sometimes you could sift for gold in rivers, but you rarely got gold, you usually got "Fool's gold" which could be sold to a fence, but you have to sell it in batches of 10 or under, or the fence will call bluff, and you won't be able to sell to them for the day, and you gotta go to another fence for every batch, ths resets every 24 ingame hours.
I wish we had to choose one or two of the roles instead of being everything at once. That way some of the roles needed people from other roles, like a trader would get better results from getting pelts from another player using the trapper role and things like that.
When you mentioned the sheriff role, i just recalled the gameplay of LA Noire. It could totally fit in rdo. Much work to be put into this though. RDO players are here to stay and I hope they keep growing the in-game experience for longtime players like us, who love this era and detail of their world. I really like your content. Checked your channel out recently. Longtime red dead fan and literature professor here, haha.
A fellow, prof! You're in good company, my friend! Glad you've enjoyed the vids. Taking some things from Noire would do wonders for the game- particularly from a lawman perspective.
hey man i love these vids and i got and idea i know this might not be good or make a long a video but you should see how historically accurate the hair and facial hair are in red dead online
I want properties, train robberies, bank heists, lawman roles, etc. A trapper role would be cool too. I've been hearing we're getting a taxidermy role. Maybe it will be kind of like the trapper.
Bit late but I have a few role ideas that have just been floating around in my head for a while so the first one is similar to your sherif role idea but it’s called the detective role and you have to go to these camps/homesteads kill Bad guys then look for clues or interrogate someone and there would be 10-12 different clues to find but you have to wait 1-2 real lifedays for your next camp to look for clues and after you find all of them you get to the big bad guy and you turn him in and you will get a reward of 0.50-1 gold bar $100-$150 but it will take a while to get it that’s why it’s a big pay out. My next role is basically the trapper but a fisherman instead so basically fish pay more money than normal 1 a week there will be an exotic fish that will give a $50-$75 but it will be very hard to find and you will be able to get a better fishing rod fishing traps and more. Another role is an outlaw role so you start off just robbing nps and homesteads then to stagecoaches and trains and shops then at max level you will be able to rob banks and riverboats/ferry’s but you will need to be with at Least 3 people and I think a cool addition to it would be so you can buy an upgrade that makes your camp a gang camp and then your posse becomes a gang which means you get more people in it and you can give money to your gang and I think the payouts for trains would be around $100-$200 and stagecoaches be about $35-$50 then banks would be $150-$245 and 1-2 full gold bars and then river boats would be $165-$255 and 2-3 gold bars but they would both be very difficult. Another one is the rancher so you start off with just a small cabin then you can upgrade your property and customise it how you want and sell you cattle sheep goats etc and you’ll be able to hire npcs to do chores for you and get money and tend to the ranch for you but you will have to pay them every now and again and the payments for cows would be $50-$75 goats would be around $10-$25 sheep would be a bit more than goats at $15-$35 but cows would be harder to get and take care of and then dogs would be able to help you herd sheep. And that’s all the roles I could think of I’ll add any more in if I think of any
My role ideas, some are already in game but these are my ideas of all roles the game should have. Feel free to add more. Entrepreneur - Being a Cornwall, owning Businesses, doing train/wagon/boat convoys. Have an office with a safe and have an assistant that you can use to buy supplies for all your businesses, collect deliveries, and deliver full sets of collectibles/sample sets all from one place. These businesses will also serve as a front for outlaw money and make passive money. Outlaw - Heists, robbing npcs, robbing registers, stealing/selling wagons, stealing/selling horses, random train spawns with rich folk and safes that you can choose to rob, stagecoach tips from Alden. Running your own npc gang with secret hideout locations. Moonshining, marcel can store three batches, bar makes passive income. Poaching, capturing alive animals to sell, start poaching camps. Smuggling moonshine, poached animals, weed, art, jewelry, at long distances avoiding law checkpoints and player sheriffs, different options for getting it done. Sheriff - Bounty Hunting, being the sheriff of one of the towns, police allies, sheriffs office safe location, nearby notifications to defend towns, defend convoys, take down smugglers, poachers, and griefers, bloodhounds follow you during missions and slow down enemies, random encounters like fights and dead bodies that you can choose to intervene or investigate, wearable badge. Trapper - Legendary animals, turning them into sellable/usable decorations, cripps trading business with more options such as turning the pelts you collected into clothes to sell for a higher price, specific buyer requests to keep hunting interesting and add realism, camp chores to help cripps complete faster, having cripps be your own personal Gus instead of buying from your competitor, having your dog help you trail animals, a gun that can get 3 star small animals, traps, more crafting options. Fisherman - Legendary fish, turning them into sellable/useable decorations, more fishing rods, crafting options, fishing wagon, fishing boats, lobster/crab traps, fishing nets, spear fishing, accessible crayfish holes. Naturalist - Know everything about wildlife, use Harriet to find legendary animals, complete compendium, collect samples and sell them, anti poaching missions, more psychedelic experiences like becoming animals for a while, or add new herbs that put you on a trip. Add more compendiums for birds, fish, and plants. Treasure hunter - Finding madam nazars items and treasure chests. Rancher - We all know what this is Prospect - Mining for ores, gold, diamonds and selling them. Photographer - Photo challenges, sell photos for cash. Brawler - Run your own fighting ring, learn marshal arts, gain fame, passive income, legendary fights, matchmaking. Gambler - Open the casino boat as a public area, add new games, choose a game of your choice as an expansion to the moonshine shack. Chef - Unlocks more food options, cook food faster, cook multiple meats at the same time, cook seasoned food in wilderness camp, open your own saloon restaurant that you stock up with food from ranching/hunting and moonshine from the shack as an alternative to selling missions, you can cook and serve to coming and going customers, this can also serve a double purpose such as having a hidden heist setup room.
Love the lawman and trapper ideas! The mining idea sounds great as well. I would love to have a home base/log cabin incorporated in any way. Great videos, and thank you for the content.
Hints why I've now landed here at this video. The miner. Midwestern boy from St.Louis MO, north county Ferguson, MO specifically. Living in the city the past 8 years, I was lucky to move off to CO and mine for several semi famous miners of CO, lived there mining for 3 years, did the Tucson gem show tour bit for a few months, lots of mountain adventures in the Tarryalls. I miss it.
I was hoping the bounty hunter role would be a little bit more similar to how you described your hopes for a lawman role, tracking down someone through information and clues rather than "go here and kill these people or follow the eagle eye tracks." Adding a lawman role could add an interesting cops and robbers dynamic, would be historically accurate, and could make the honor system which has little use in online make a difference. And the griefer hunting would be very welcome.
I would love to be a lawmen or a Pinkerton, especially if we get that badass suit that Mr. Milton and co. wear! My favorite gunfighters are lawmen, or at least were for a substantial amount of time, like Wyatt Earp and Bill Hickok.
that would be cool if the lawman role relied on the mugshot photo of anyone who had charges pressed on them or a fake mugshot of the npcs your looking for
I know the series is about online - but I'd be intrigued to know if Dutch's gang is historically accurate - the clothing the various characters 'would' wear in their situation, paying off your own bounty, the principals that the gang holds, the various hold ups, shoot offs with the town's lawmen and escaping, the way outlaws treated the women and minorities of the gang, the loyalties vs betrayals of the members, and how their camps are setup.
Being the proud owner of a homestead is my biggest wish for RDO.
Yeah there should be a higher tier above camps

the problem with fighting players over gold would be that everyone just uses the noob tube bow with explosive arrows. if your in defensive mode to disable their lock on that’s all they use on you is dynamite arrows.
My dream is to own a hunting and fishing cabin up in the grizzlies isolated in the wilderness 😍
Screw it im buying the shack in lakay
I want a rancher role where wild horses are utilized, you raise cattle and have drives, even hire ncp cowboys. Also actually fix the roping where you dally and have brandings and such tasks a rancher does.
Yep, love it.
And have those random chores like in the single-player epilogue, where you can feed the chicken, chop wood, shovel manure, etc. Sometimes I don't really feel like doing anything grand, but I still wanna play. So I enjoy doing those simple tasks that are just relaxing.
Awesome idea
This should have been the upgraded trader instead of moonshine
Nathan Brown me and a friend literally came up with that exact same thing lol

A Fisherman role is what i'm crossing my fingers for, especially since Cripps will not take fish for the butcher's table and trader role!
It'd also be nice to see a fishing boat akin to the hunting wagon to hold all of the larger fish.
I've tried filling regular boats with gator skins, only to have the physics engine get flustered
And you get payed triple for saleing fish
yes but only for consoles as fishing on pc is impossible, i'm actually serious
Cripps is a trader of pelts not meat
I have more faith in your future content than in the future of Red Dead Online. Another great video, as always!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Bruno!
I hear they're making the ps5 port with extra story and online stuff
I would love a role that lets you catch wild horses and sell them for more money the better trained they are. It feels so weird breaking a wild horse but then only getting a five minute ride out of it because I can’t bond or sell them like in story
Import export horses would be great too
Like single player in rdr2. Even in rdr1 we got jobs to break horses but we cant sell wild horses.
And losing Bit and Bridle..." oh, but that's free"...
Don't tell R*...
I like the idea of a sheriff. I feel it would really help mitigate the griefing problem online if it's implemented in the right way. It would also fit well with some other roles if we had a system for outlaws and vigilantes as an umbrella for the other roles because they would work against eachother to make the game more immersive.
All I want is a gold prospector role or a robbery role, maybe a rancher role but has to be done right...
Great video Man vs history.

What about a rancher roll so there's actually used for the wildhorses were you could capture and break them then buy a cart so you can sell them off
I would love it but I doubt there’d be much money
Agreed. It's overdue.
Love this idea!❤️
And as you level up you can buy more animals like pigs and cows and you could hire ranch hands as well
Ill add to that idea: Legendary horses we can break and keep, as good or better than the existing top tier horses.
Haha, so almost a "griefer" role.
"You destroyed my wagon, you griefer!!"
"Im a professional. Its just business."
wouldnt that just mean nobody ever picks outlaw/sheriff if its just a straight up better deal
A gunslinger role would be dope, alongside a duel system. I'm fairly pissed off when a griefer just shoot me from a mountain while I want a good close-range gunfight.
It’s a mechanic but we need a reason to be one and to be paid
They need to nerf sniping. It's a wild west game yet you have morons running around with snipers only

@@baker90338 Adding onto this idea, I'd say having to actually account for bullet drop, windage and the like, even if not extreme amounts like a simulator, would make marksmen a lot more rare.

I imagine how the miner role would be. You could make prep missions and then you'd get like 0,02 gold bars for 2 hours of work lol
I would personally really enjoy a caravan job where your player would have to either lead or guard a caravan over the course of a few days in game irl an hour or two and as a reward for getting the caravan to its destination safe you would get say 50$ And your pay would reduce if the caravan had lost some people or carts
Aidan Milne $50 for two hours of work... i wouldn’t even bother with it
Great idea! Like scouts escorting wagon trains.
@@alfredo3289 rockstar being rockstar would probably pay less ngl just let me have hope XD
"In my fantasy world, one where Red Dead REALEASES new content..." Pretty much!
I propose a soldier role:
You have some element of law enforcement, you could guard the military forts, you could engage in battles against gangs of undesirables, guard player stuff like how the Army guards Cornwall's stuff in the story, and it would be the ideal role for those that want to raise hell and kill other players, but this time, not maliciously, like if they have a big criminal gang, you could engage in such fights and skirmishes. I would imagine it would be kinda controversial of a role though, considering the Military-Native skirmishes of the past.
The last idea is absolutely perfect if cockstar could do that with some refinements etc then it would be great for anti griefing

I like a cartographer role! RDO could could be expansive by adding in new areas and locations! Then you set out to explore the unknown and name locations and find resources! They literally just have to finish rendering/texturing Gurma and Mexico and there's easily hours of content there.
I need you on Rockstar's team immediately!! Keep up the good content
I want them to add a haberdashery where any players who come through it can buy supplies abs I get a cut of that plus it can be used as a fast travel point for players if I buy the upgrade and players can sleep and craft at it
It would be cool to have some type of Trapper role in the game. Growing up hunting with my Dad we had a few trap lines.
All these ideas are very much needed in game.
I spend a lot of time in game hunting. And I'm not talking about running around blasting (and scaring) everything in site.
Being able to place scent and traps for Beaver would be much more preferably, (at least for me), than just shooting them
I think it would add a bit more realism to the experience, all be it, not historically accurate for the time.
As far as being able to purchase a black powder Hawken Rifle as an option for big game, would be very cool.
'Can you skin Grizz Pilgrim?'
The community Bounty on a relentless griefers head is an exceptional idea.

Jeremiah Johnson... Epic to say the least...
I'm with you on the miner, I said we need a gold miner I mean that was literally the biggest thing back then outside of prostitution and I wish they would bring in the trader at least. I have couple of video ideas: Daltons Gang story (other gangs and their stories), famous gold miners, Hugh Glass story, famous gunslingers, famous trappers, famous sherrifs.
I like it, Kosmita! Solid ideas.
I think your idea of "Lawmen and Outlaws" was my favorite.
Sort of a cops and robber kinda thing. One group steals, the other defends whatever.
If Rockstar is making a Trader expansion soon, then I imagine some of the things from your trapper idea will be there.
They need to do what they did with the bounty and make trader go up to lvl 30 and allow u to buy traps and a cabin
The log cabin idea would nice with the addition with the rancher role and having cripps set up shop permanently at the ranch with having most the roles set up there except the moonshiners since you wouldnt want to much attention brought to your ranch.
Would also love to see a soldeir role (span am war) but love to see it!!!
I wanna see them put a fishing role
Recently found your channel and I’ve got to say great work! Really interesting videos.
Awesome, thank you!
Ashley, you're onto something.
All these ideas are way above R* intelligence level. But it'd be a dream come true if they could make it.

In the interest of historical accuracy, and since Rockstar seems hellbent to add a photographer role, the developers could expand on that and allow players to pursue a career in yellow journalism. I'm only half joking here.
Tim Johnson no I can see it like sending photos to a newspaper like photographing a legendary animal or big bounty player and of some other things

I, like many others, believe a rancher role would be interesting. Players could participate in trail drives to larger cities or railroad stations to get shipped. Slowly players could become trail bosses; organizing the herd or could start saving up money to buy a ranch plot. Cattle would be bought with in-game cash.
Love it.

I want ALL THIS plus a Rancher role! Your ideas are fantastic. I also love the idea of the Valentine tent camp turned into a Trader/trapper's fair once a month (something you mentioned in another video).
"Where R* Releases new Content..." That is a nice fantasy world. ;)
I love the lawman idea as an extension of the bounty hunter role
This man makes me want to be a cowboy
Blacksmith role: Able to craft/upgrade melee weapons, perhaps crafting armor sets like we see in some missions. Making guns or custom parts for them. And of course crafting superior horseshoes which could have different effects, like a speed or stamina boost (or a better jump for some funny/epic moments?) You could buy or steal iron/whatever metals and would have to repair certain items occasionally.
A lawman would be cool but could u imagine delivering moonshine only to get white knighted by some 12 year old with a power complex.
Yeah the reward system should only be for players with bounties.
I really want a rancher role, or maybe a drug cartel business.
No drugs drugs bad
I mean they put cocaine in food and drinks so i dont think drugs were that big of an issue
Drugs weren't illegal yet. Alcohol was more restricted in the 19th century.
Moonshiner isn't enough for you? Go play GTA
Michael Ehlerman Why did you click on a video about ideas for roles in RDO? Just to complain about me giving ideas?
Ok im gonna be honest i love these because they would work great as role spin offs cause gold miner/prospector would be a nice spin off or just add on to collector role lawman spin off to the bounty hunter and trapper could just be a add on to trader but i would prefer a full role to it where you would also use the entire animals carcass needing a field skinning and butchering kit this would obviously take more or less time depending on animal too but all in all amazing
Oh also love the content especially the historical accurate characters its helped me a lot making my outfits I’ve usually modified them but still pretty historically accurate and they look amazing so thk
I just want a ranching role. I would like to be a real cowboy in a game about cowboys
That's reasonable.
Callum's Phone Charger Story mode yes
Callum's Phone Charger same thing
Game isn’t about cowboys my friend
Another thing they should do is raise the player count per server to something like 100 or 150 because it’s not like they don’t have the Indy for good servers and the map is huge so there wouldn’t be any overcrowding
This is a video
Mario Brother Correct
The Sheriff role would be so welcome! I just started RDRonline a few weeks ago but I have played alot since then. Even went as far as to make my character an historically accurate lawmen (Wild Bill-based). Thanks so much for these amazing videos.
Came for realistic outfits, stayed for the history.
Great ideas! Would love all 3 of those to be added
Keep up the great videos! Miner or cattle drive type roles would be amazing, my 2 cents.
Yeah, if I were to suggest another role, it would be the cowboy/cattleman/rancher/cattle baron role. Sounds like a blast.
It’s unfortunate that they designed the game the way they did because this concept sounds amazing.
Rockstar NEEDS to contact you! I love your ideas.

A fellow, prof! You're in good company, my friend! Glad you've enjoyed the vids. Taking some things from Noire would do wonders for the game- particularly from a lawman perspective.
I love the gold miner and trapper ideas, I have always loved the mountain man lifestyle so I would be very interested in those roles.
hey man i love these vids and i got and idea i know this might not be good or make a long a video but you should see how historically accurate the hair and facial hair are in red dead online
I love your videos man. They are very entertaining and informative. Thanks for the hard work.
Thank you, Marcus! Appreciate that, my friend!
I want properties, train robberies, bank heists, lawman roles, etc. A trapper role would be cool too. I've been hearing we're getting a taxidermy role. Maybe it will be kind of like the trapper.
Hmm... trapper? Building a cabin? Damn that would be a fun role!

Add more compendiums for birds, fish, and plants.

This guy knows what he’s talking about in video games and cowboy times
Love the lawman and trapper ideas! The mining idea sounds great as well. I would love to have a home base/log cabin incorporated in any way. Great videos, and thank you for the content.
You bet, Rico!
I miss it.
I can relate. I'm a Midwestern boy myself, Bones (born and raised in Iowa), but spent much of my life living out in CO.
Honestly these all sound awesome but the main thing I'd like is ranch property or just the trapper cabin idea
I would love to be a lawmen or a Pinkerton, especially if we get that badass suit that Mr. Milton and co. wear! My favorite gunfighters are lawmen, or at least were for a substantial amount of time, like Wyatt Earp and Bill Hickok.
You are 100% going to blow up bud. I don't play rdr much anymore between updates but I always tune in for this. Keep up the good work!
Very kind of you, Graham. These types of comments are super motivating. Thanks buddy.
that would be cool if the lawman role relied on the mugshot photo of anyone who had charges pressed on them or a fake mugshot of the npcs your looking for
I know the series is about online - but I'd be intrigued to know if Dutch's gang is historically accurate - the clothing the various characters 'would' wear in their situation, paying off your own bounty, the principals that the gang holds, the various hold ups, shoot offs with the town's lawmen and escaping, the way outlaws treated the women and minorities of the gang, the loyalties vs betrayals of the members, and how their camps are setup.
The gold rush role would really liven up ambarino, great idea!
Just found out that that’s where the jingle, “ what would you do for a Klondike bar” came from
Honestly I would be so so *so* impressed if these things were in the game. Well thought out and so many details! Seriously amazing
Really appreciate that, BBBHova. Glad you dug the video.
