I'm going camping next weekend and was thinking about doing a vlog-style video about it, but was worried that it wouldn't fit the format (photo/video tutorials) of my channel. Thanks for the extra nudge and reminder to not be so worried about what everyone else wants from my channel and a little more concerned about what *I* want from it!
Something nice is changing in Aidin land. Covid wild hair, cracking a smile, more interested in the view, looking more buff, relaxed feel ..... Ok now you have to go back explore the trail more & spend a few nights back packing. Really enjoyed this one. Cheers, Theo
Aidin Robbins you have been an inspiration of mine for so long. I am a 12-year-old filmmaker, and I know you started really young making movies and films too! Do you have any advice for young filmmakers?
Absolute fire. I LITERALLY just hiked this hike 2 days ago so I can say truthfully that you accurately conveyed the scene yet also in the beautiful lens of a cinematic Aidin video. Very well done my dude. It was even engaging after just being on the hike. You captured it so well and so uniquely. Also I totally agree with what you were saying about appreciating the scenery nearby during quarantine. Thanks for sharing a positive of a very dark time. Good stuff homie. And thanks for the reminder to be Covid-safe. Be well brotha
I always wondered how much more you hike when you shoot these types of video. The cool thing is the "illusion" of someone documenting your hike is never lost.
I found this channel about 2 month now and I could safely say I'm not going no where, I have never been hyped to see anyone videos, but this channel bro, I get excited every time I see something comes up from your channel, I stop and watch it at once. Your work is truly amazing, I see you reaching very far with this. Keep being amazing as you are, the Galaxy need you. Love and respect. Bless
This is a gnarly one to do in a day!! My friend and I did it in November of 2019, but it was totally worth it. Thank your for creating this. You are such an inspiration!!
I would watch this type of content anyday over filmmaking and editing tips and tutorials. It's more about the story. It's more about you and what you can bring to it. I wish TMS would follow this lead also.
This was amazing! Very cool “discovery” shots! Not only was the color fantastic the angles were attention-grabbing which is hard to do with nature landscapes! I felt like I was there! Fantastic work!
This has us wanting to do that hike again! We've done it twice. You can get a hiker's lunch at the lodge, which is really good. The store also sells various souvenir items, including shirts that can only be purchased at the lodge when you hike up. They change the design each year. Be sure to sign the visitor registry too. But great video, and we fully understand your struggle of footage vs hiking, it's tough. I love the subtle movement you put into each shot. Try going up via Alum Bluff trail if you do it again, gorgeous trail, with lots of scenic views and water features. I think I could do full video on just the cool pine forest that's up at the top around the lodge! This mountain is about an hour from our house, over on the NC side of the park.
Ayyy that's awesome! I think I made it to the top after the lodge shop had closed, but definitely planning to tackle this one again via the Alum Cave trail soon. Glad you enjoyed!
Aidin I dont know why every time I watch your videos, I feel like you are living in heaven (not in a bad way), maybe because of your colorgrading is too good, I see a lot of glowing vibe in it and I am not a big fan of it until you bro.
Mount LeConte is my favorite hike of all time! I remember when I was first getting into photography and Video, my dad took me on that hike but we took the alum cave trall but the view was amazing!
Love the Great Smoky Mountains that's so beautiful there! Really enjoy this video. We have a channel geared towards hiking service gave me some ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Aidin just wow!!!! I found your channel just now this morning while researching smoky mountain hiking videos. Your B roll shots are amazing we’ll actually all your footage is amazing. I vlog a lot in the Smokies and over the years my method of filming has changed as seen in my most recent videos. But this...I may binge watch your content this weekend and take notes. I’m always looking for better shots or better vantage points for filming. I’m also working on a short film for Halloween. But this...this inspires me, thank you!
I went to Gatlinburg 3 months ago and did the same hike and climb on the exact fallen tree!! Early in the morning with the sun and fog I felt like I was in Lord of the Rings. Awesome video man. Next time I go I will have to go past the waterfall. I filmed alot to but it got really sunny and I hate trying to film in harsh sunlight. I need to get better at it. Keep it up man!
i absolutely love your content! everywhere you film looks so close to where i live (in western nc), which is super cool because i’m always trying to find new places to hike.
wow. cool video! I'm still learning how to make vlog videos on hiking. Mine that was uploaded in my channel looks so new lmao. Like really, your videos are amazing! I will learn from it
Bro! I know exactly where you’re at! I’ve covered that area in my travel videos over 10 times. There are certain areas that are perfect to film and some are not.
Bruh what I wouldn't give to have someone with your level of skill come along on a hike with my squad and show me everything I'm doing wrong 😂 Got like 5 different hiking/camping vlogs in queue with another trip coming up in august, but nothing that measures up to your quality.
i know i got excuses but whenever i try to film my footage looks like this 11:07 no matter how much i try xD but tbh you are much younger to me but your videos are still so inspiring to me to be able to do something while i still can,but it so damn HOT here in my country!
1. if your camera has any sort of in body stabilisation make sure that's switched on, 2. a tripod would help stop all of those micro jitter but if you were moving with it, it would still cause a fair bit of shake 3. the best option would be to get a gimble, they're fairly cheap and very easy to use, it essentially eliminates all shake and gives you a really smooth motion :) hope that helps :)
When you initially parked your vehicle, you had plenty of room to park normally within your designated parking space. No need to move up just to be closer to the vehicle clearly parked too far ahead from their space. Now when that vehicle leaves before you, how would another driver be able to park there normally? Try to avoid following a trend of misdeeds and do what's overall best for the current and future situations. Aside from that, great video man.
Bro, if you ever get a chance please come to the Eastern Sierra in CA and do a hike/video. I gurantee you'd love the scenery and you would do a killer vid.
I stated this in another reply, but I’ve been thinking about how to get into video and the kinds of things I want to shoot, and between this and the “Sounds of the PNW” video, I have just the right inspiration. Will probably be years before anything is half this good, but it will be worth it.
30 seconds in and I'm already inspired to create something. Everything looks stunning already.
Thanks! Stoked to hear that!
Same here. As someone who’s starting to think about doing stuff like this, this was inspiring.
Same bro, I feel like I could fly rn
Same ! Glad I came across your videos man !
May i ask what camera you used for this project?@@AidinRobbins
Gah. There is nothing better than hiking and filming, making vids. Love it. Nice one Aidin 👌
Thank you! Couldn't agree more!
I can relate to being happy to see my car after a long hike. Reallly happy!
Amid the cloudy skies, freshness stands out everywhere.
The tumbling transition into the waterfall shots was sick! Haven't really seen anything like it.

Absolutely! I actually tend to see higher engagement from videos like this, always important to try some new things to find out!

Great to hear and best of luck to your future.
@@xvxxvx4750 Haha thanks man!
I too started when I was 12!!! Well the only thing I can tell you is to not procrastinate and to just shoot.
Get out of youtube kid

I am so glad you decided to video the smokies and blue ridge, it's wonderful to visit my old stomping grounds through your videos.
Man I’ve been hiking all pandemic and only taking pictures & videos of nature and the hikes still take forever.
Hiking and Filming at the same time. Genius

Your channel is just a piece of art, every single video inspires me to create more videos, you are just the GOAT!
Hiking, photography, videography and editing? I’ve found my new favorite channel!
THe quality of your videos are unmatchable, they're so good and interactive! It feels like im in the hike myself lol

This is so beautiful not to mention the cinematic-ness of this video is 😋
We learn from just seeing these amazing shots and studying how you made the film. This was awesome. But keep the other videos coming as well
The feels! All the feels!! 👍🏻
Dude your videos are so dam good. Love your style. And love the dedication to making a sick video. And all the little pans and tilts are so good.

At the end of the video, the music that you played, it felt like Harry Potter with all those mountains and leaves and the color grading.
Love it I am a huge fan of you and Kraig Adam's film style and this felt like a really awesome mix of the two, very inspiring to see. Thanks man
Glad you enjoyed! Kraig's vids were definitely some of the inspiration behind this one!

Haha glad it can have that effect! Give it a shot! ;)
Is this the park you're frequently at? Still curious about that park you usually shoot your vlogs in. Thanks, Aidin!
Please make more of these kind of videos.
Hoping to soon!

Bro! I know exactly where you’re at! I’ve covered that area in my travel videos over 10 times. There are certain areas that are perfect to film and some are not.
You should do a video on how you hike with all your camera equipment
slowly
