Matt had it coming. Although Pacey pinning him against his car was one thing, throwing him down onto the pavement was a bit out of line cause Matt could've cracked his head. But at the same time, Matt initiated that fight by throwing the first punch. Pacey was ready to let it go after pinning him, so he had the right to defend himself, and especially Joey, by fighting Matt back. In the end, I loved that Pacey defended Joey. ❤
My respect for pacey was just growing and has continued growing to this very day ever since I saw that scene, the teenage man was a straight up badass legend! Lol 💯🔥😁😉👍🏻

Throughout the series Pacey is the one who is most skilled in fighting. Even at the end when he was having that affair with a married lady and her husband comes looking for him, he says alright do what you gotta do, showing he messed up and was willing to take the beating like a man, until three other guys come and beat his ass up.
There nothing to show pacey was more skill in fighting. They took one punch pacey went down. They show them have a fight and there nothing to show that pacey would win.
