The airburst rocket launcher is honestly one the better support weapons to pair with EATs. Covers your bases very well!

Lot of people pair EATs with the quasar but I’m glad you’re giving the Airburst some much needed attention.
EAT fits well in every bug loadout for chargers and titans against bots you don't need it as much because tanks, hulks, and factory striders have good options to kill them without taking a dedicated support weapon. I have been running AB, EAT, airstrike, and rail cannon because it covers all your bases really well. For weapons with it I have been running the Blitzer, grenade pistol, and stun grenades it works really well especially with the fire speed buff to the Blitzer.
I have never seen anyone use airburst rocket but me, but its really good. It just have bad rep since the launch.

I'm really enjoying air burst orbital, launcher and air strike. Then stun nades and precision for heavies. Been working very well. Nade pistol for bug holes/fabs and the judicator for primary . Been having a lot of fun
Does that work against Factory Striders ?
@Gabu_Dono if you can land them, air strikes and precision do the job. :) Also an airbrush when it's dropping dudes can one shot. Only got it once so far

I really want to use the airburst but im addicted to the shield pack and the jump pack… obliterating a entire patrol with one shot is really satisfying though
just try it lol. no pressure. it feels amazing
What if you've got an ally to reload you and you just blast the bugs as you jump away?

I tried the airburst RL for the first time just yesterday, in a defense mission (the ones with the doors to protect) against bugs. I have to say, i was very pleasantly surprised by its efficiency. Pairing it up with firing mines (a mate had some too, so both front doors were covered with mines in front of them), i absolutely obliterated breaches. When firing up against three opening breaches that i just threw my fire mines onto, i managed to get a x38 kill count in a single rocket. I might give it a try in regular missions too, i assume it's very good at taking out patrols without them being able to call a single breach/bot drop since heavy ennemies can't do that.
I haven't tried the airburst yet, but any time someone else brings it they murder half the team with it. It does look super effective when used correctly here. I'll give it a try.
This new patch has been great for me. I love most of the buffs, and I'm ok with most of the nerfs. The only problem I have now is deciding which weapons to bring since it isn't as brainless a choice as it has been in the past since most weapons feel pretty good. That's definitely a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah that's me constantly saying "Sry" also killed myself often with it, but I learned how to use it now.

because airburst quickly kills a chunk of the infantry it is great for getting rid of the biggest threat in any patrol, the ones that can call a bug breach or bot drop, especially on bots, with bugs it might leave brood commanders and hive guards alive but starting an ambush with it against bots is an excellent way to avoid them calling backup
Absolutely
This is not true for bugs. All bugs (except Chargers and Bile Titans) can call for a bug breach. And this won't kill the medium armored bugs reliably.
@ChizFreak On the other hand, if it sweeps all the little bugs, then your teammates only have to kill the remaining mediums. If they can do that quickly then that's a massive reduction in the odds of a bug breach.
@@ChizFreak yeah, I know, I specifically said that it won't kill brood commanders or hive guards reliably so it's less effective at that with bugs

don't need to shoot into doors of fabricators, just into the vents works fine
I used the Plasma shotty religiously until the Eruptor came out. Now it’s meta and I couldn’t be happier, I love the gun! Tho I will have to retrain all my muscle memory for managing the projectile arc
oh its soo much fun im so glad something came for the scorcher
Meta doesn't mean good in every situation, this game especially, I have a swarm build, gas firewall that is Overpowered
@@Wazzeritchy90 meta just means it’s popular, good or bad, and is likely to be used by a teammate. Off meta just means it’s unpopular, whether good or bad.
One might go a step further and say that in more competitive games, meta is what’s “expected”, whether or not that’s fair or fun
Good stuff. I have another build:
ABRL, Orbital Airburst/Gas Strike - these 2 stratagems + Incendiary Breaker/Plasma Shotgun are your horde clear.
500kg, Orbital Precision - these 2 are your tank busters. For chargers combine with stun grenades. Though I can see replacing OPS with Autocannon Sentry can be pretty dang good. And you can protect your sentry from chargers with stun grenades.
If you get a pouncer planet, ooooh boy, you are in for a good time!
Good things shouldn't get nerfed.
There wasn't any sense to taking the 16 shell magazines from the breaker.
I get the carried mag count reductions.
The crossbow is... I never liked it, but they did it dirty.
Shouldn't take the fun factor from the players.
But adding in a couple of difficulties or allowing for requested detrimental modifiers would be fine.
Looks good, I look forward to trying it, thanks. As far as the patch goes, I’m mostly fine with the weapon changes, but a little unhappy about the change to solo spawn rates. Solo was already way harder than group play - it did not need to be made even more difficult, imo.
im gonna have to agree with you all the way. i JUST got used to solo helldive and blam...i wonder why they did that

When you dive while shooting the cluster rocket near I call it a danger close dive (D.C.D.), because odds are it will still hit me but push me far from the enemy so I can reload and fire again since I primarily use it around 20 meters of myself

@@Sacro_the_Councilman when it came out I saw so many of the helldivers commentators immediately call it trash because it didn’t wreck heavy armor targets, not realizing it was antipersonnel. Granted it needed fixing but I always have a soft spot for the weapons that don’t get much love and I can see how this would shine against patrols and POI groups so I definitely plan to use it, and will try out this loadout

Airburst feels gimmicky and requires a long reload. Just bring Eagle Cluster if you want horde clear.
Best trash clear against bugs is Stalwart at 1150rpm with support pack and then primary of your choice that features medium pen. Rail strike for harassing chargers, and team mates for titans.
Easy and effective build on d9, good on every planet. With bugs on d9 you only want one trash clear build, everyone else brings AT.

ahh S Tier INDEED. Airburst with EAT is mandatory for me to delete bugs patrol while can damage big bugs. The other 2 slot I use Orbital Burst for middle finger bug breach, and 500kg for backup when EAT on cooldown.
The balancing changes overall are great. Headed in the right direction, with a few kinks to work out. I mean no one was using the crossbow and they still nerfed it, that’s just sad :(
But good patch overall for Primaries
yeaa but it wasnt a full nerf they added some cool stuff if I remember correctly
@@Sacro_the_Councilman they made the projectile move faster, and made it easier to aim. If anything, that takes away from its’ identity as a crossbow
@Pyromaniac77777 they also took awake some stagger and made the explosion smaller right. I've got to try it and see how it feels. I find their balancing is usually good stuff even if it's a nerf
@@Sacro_the_Councilman crossbow is my only complaint, already it was a meme weapon, not even comparable with its competition within the explosive weapons category.
To put the ammo nerf in perspective, imagine if the change brought it from 8 up to 12. That’s a 50% increase; well they did the opposite and then also reduced stagger and explosion radius.
Without large mag, stagger and explosive radius, what does this thing do? What’s the intended role? It struggles to take down medium targets, can’t kill Fabricators… only thing it can do is kill small enemies and then you may as well use a weapon that’s actually good at that
well, i love the airburst so, i'll try this setup and see how it works. Looks damn fine, that I'll say

The reload and does it do anything to heavies?
Reload is like 5 seconds and some change. It's best fired 100 meters or so away. It can take out heavies but not reliably. That's what the 500kg and eats are for
The Breaker Incendiary is still bugged in the game. The damage over time from the fire is only calculated for the host of the game such as any other passive fire damage. So it is a great gun, but only if you host the game, otherwise don't play with fire at the moment until there is a hotfix. (the enemies are shown as burning, but get no damage from the effect if you arn't the host)

I find it struggles even mediums let alone a chargers..... although yeah its good just not amazing for anyrhing other than eggs
I'll do a solo helldive with it one of these days.
Still disappointed thwt the method of making the airburst _good_ was by nerfing alternative setups.
No the quasar and airburst are in 2 different playing fields. Unless u mean something else. The way they made it good was by constricting its blast radius.

I've been running a full rocket build which is similar to this. Airburst rocket launcher -- 110m rocket pods -- EATS -- rocket sentry
Technically autocannon sentry is better, but it just fits the theme so w/e. It actually lasts quite a bit longer if it's in a good spot though.
3:27 May I suggest the name for that is "the fadeaway" ala Michael Jordan's basketball shot while he's jumping backwards. Great idea.

I love the airburst but it definitely needs multiple reload stages like the recoiled has
I think we need to make way better use of co-op reloading
@@CODDE117 it does seem to throw off the general vibes but I think we may just need more time to adapt. maybe ill test out some team builds in the future
