Literally dying when the first scream comes and he dives off screen and comes back with what looked like a mic stand?! And then proceeds to air guitar 🤣🤣🤣
Lol yes! ...in defense, just in case. Leo is hilarious
kinda my fave part of the video.... lamo
when people understanding the screaming in rock music is personified emotion they can truly appreciate it. to many blind people just don't like it because it's to raw and they are far to happy pretending the worlds all sunshine and rainbows. rock music isn't afraid to be real and raw
Hey man, I can tell you're not having a good time lately. Just know that what you do here is valued, and it brings people happiness. Thank you.
sh4d0w dr34m3r couldn’t agree with you more💯💫✨
Cheers to that.
He looks like he's having fun to me
This 64 year old grandma loves your channel. You're real and not scared to listen to anything. Deep inside you are a wonderful human being.
@@elaine8013 this 64 year old grandma agrees. This kid is good!
Bro, I just discovered your channel, and it honestly warms my heart. This stuff you're doing is so unifying to me. Music has no race, and we all are on YOUR channel enjoying some awesome music and your priceless reactions.
Keep it up man! Thanks for being a light in dark times.
This song is deep, it's about how people view you based on your death/passing. Cancer patients are seen as brave, but someone who overdosed is looked down on.
Its about abortion bro
@@thewise_1one856 system of a down themselves have said their songs have more than one meaning. There are many things this song could be seen to be about, that, want Marcia said, religion and domestic abuse are common interpretations
I always thought that on top of Marcia's interpretation the lyrics sometimes offer the perspective of Jesus Christ. One can argue that the crucifixion is a self-righteous suicide because he knew what was coming and didn't run away, and people still don't see its worth. Also "Father into your hands I commend my spirit" and "..why have you forsaken me" are part of Christ's last seven words on the cross.
I don't think it is? Based on the lyrics, it's obviously about religion, more specifically Christianity. The fast parts
"Wake up, grab a brush and put a little make up" all the way to the last "You wanted to!" are the only lines that doesn't have to do with religion. These lines talk about not wanting to do anything, but still pushing yourself to do it.
"I don't think you trust in my self-righteous suicide" is probably in reference to Judas Iscariot, who, after give Jesus up, hanged himself, thinking he was doing the right thing because he just got his savior killed.
"I cry when angels deserve to die" is in reference to the pain that God and Jesus must feel when they have to give up an angel for sinning against them in Heaven
"Father, into your hands I commend (commit) my spirit, father into your hands, why have you forsaken me? In your arms, forsaken me, in your thoughts, forsaken me, in your heart forsaken me, oh" is, of course, Jesus on the cross, giving his soul to the Father, but asking Him [God] why He [God] never saved Him [Jesus] while He [Jesus] was still alive and in His [Jesus] human body.
Overdosing is an option whereas cancer chooses you no?
Hahah I laughed so hard at the intro! “I’m not a f^cking idiot, I’m dumb, it’s different.” Dude your neither. You are awesome. S.O.A.D has really weird videos, so look out man lol
this is so true, mr. video is the best! i havent had this much fun watching reaction vids since frankenstein's lab.
He’s really natural on camera, seems like a cool dude.
@@hamedalharbi6590 I just found him and I vo agree more. He's hilarious.
I’m so jealous you’re hearing this for the first time! Enjoy my brotha!
Theirs an old saying that an angel dies everytime someone commits suicide
Never heard that before MrNitty916, puts a little more context to the song now. Thanks
It makes sense. The best thing about religion is that ine change the parts one don’t think works since the neolithic!
In my religion the god was killed on page one, the killer was the chef done in the kitchen by an inappropriate use of a rolling pin.
The song is about somebody committing suicide because they're in an abusive relationship. SOAD originally wanted to call the song Suicide, but the record label wouldn't allow it. So they changed it to chop suey
@@KaldDodeGitarist right. That's why at the beginning he said "Rolling Suicide".
He’s saying “I cry, when angels deserve to die”
10 seconds in "I'm scared".
New sub here, I can't wait to follow your journey. I'm mid 40's, I was there when a lot of this stuff came out and I've loved it for years. There is a lot of depth and meaning in many of the songs, it's not "baby I love you" stuff. Life, death, war, corruption, suicide, injustice, literature, comedy, social commentary... it's all in there somewhere.
Real instruments, played well, and often innovatively, creating brand new sounds. The studio versions give you perfection, while the live videos give you energy, it's hard to choose which to watch.
Good luck, have fun.
That's awesome bubba... same here. Getting into my mid 40s... love this cats videos. Just subscribed about a month ago
6:53 their vocal harmonies there are out of this world!!
that's the most natural reaction to Darren
"OH HELL NO"
They're Armenian-American for one, so their music has definite middle eastern influences and so they sound awesome.
You forgot the important part patna ...there Californian ....🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥
If you like SOAD, you may like Hayko ruclips.net/video/RTj7_HMCBeI/видео.html
Mic Krout I never knew that! Awesome to know 💜
The more talented version of the Kardashians!
Most people don’t consider Armenia to be apart of the Middle East as it is in the Caucasus.
It’s about dying without dignity. Specifically due to addiction. We are soul-bearing ‘angels.’ Unfortunately, we all have to die. Sometimes we die without dignity. The song is so sad and chaotic. Really holds up to the test of time.
Dude, the part where Serg sings " why have you forsaken me in your eyes forsaken me in your thoughts forsaken in in your hearts FORSAKEN ME OH! Thats! Oh thats the best part. So much emotion behind his voice in that part
System of the down is so dope
They took Armenian folk music
And incorporated it with metal
Amazing group
I love your older TV reactions. They are just raw. They come from the times before you became "polished" in reactions.
Hope you are still powering forward my Brother
Absolutely wonderful performance, his screams at the end were 100%! Screaming to heavens is within all of us...
This is my 2nd video of yours. You crack me up!! When you grab the broken light!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I'm dying! I'm going to subscribe. I need this in my life!
I've always thought they were referencing the killing of girls & women in the name of family honor. 'I cry when angels deserve to die.' - because they DON'T deserve to die & then, 'Father, why have you forsaken me?' - because it's usually the patriarch of the family that restores the honor of the family with the killing of the daughter or wife. Even in cases of r*p&, as was so often perpetrated during the horrifically brutal Armenian near- genocide. I could be completely off base but that's just my take. Peace, health & love on you & yours to any who read this.
Damn, I love you 😂😂😂. This is the second reaction of yours I've watched and both are epic!!!
You are a genuine, funny dude. I hope for a lot of success for you sir. Keep up the grind. Bless up!
I know SOAD is strange a first until you dive into their songs lyrics.....then you feel like "damn where was yall at?"
I loved your reaction! 🥰🥰 I remember buying this album the day it came out...was so in love with SOAD. It’s sort of boggles the mind that so few people recognize that at one point Serj is singing what Jesus said as he was dying on the cross “Father, into your hands, I commend my spirit. Father, into your hands, why have you forsaken me?” Etc etc...I’m not even religious LOL anyways it’s a great song and I’m so happy that you reacted to it. ❤️❤️❤️
The singer is lamenting the death of innocence, or more specifically the death of an innocent. His faith is crushed because one who did not deserve death came to it. It is the cry to an uncaring God for answers that never come.
Beautifully put 👌🏼
one chick said this song was about battered women.....I was like uhh….. nooo.
No! It's a bout righteous suicide (trust my righteous suicide!) For people who can't live anymore!!! Daron said in the end of one of performances: we all deserve to die!!! Yes it's sad but We only can cry when these innocent people commit suicide!
Also It's really sad! When he leaves the keys on the table because he knows never return to home anymore and don't need the keys!!!!
I say he doesn't want to continue this kind of life (shockingly )wake up! and cover up wounds with make up! And Fother (God) ... He even didn't save his son Crist! he has forsaken pain in this life and after death for people who kill themselves!!!
GoD: suicide is a sin
SoAd: I trust your Suicide it can be righteous but we cry when you deserve to die!!!
I always thought it could have to do with God itself also
🙏🙏🙏🙏 best explanation yet
fun fact: Toxicity, the album this song is on, was #1 on Billboard during the week of 9/11
It's no fun.just ....why fun?....nevermind
@@ralfralf3117 I believe fun is short for fundamental. Not sure where I read that though.
I'm not sure that You read what i wrote.but it dsnmtr.
@@ralfralf3117 If you don't say "fun" you're just going to sound like Dwight Schrute
It was released in August 01 so before 9/11 happened
OMG brother. My eyes are watering. I check this reaction out a long time ago. I'm revisiting it. And is still killing me. LOL you're very good at what you do. Pursue that s*** brother
This song was originally titled "Suicide", but this album was released just before 9/11. People were understandably very sensitive, I think mostly because there were people jumping from the WTC to their deaths. So they had to change the name. It got no radio play for a while as well, but this music video was shown on MTV tho. If you listen to the album version, you can hear someone say at the very beginning of the track, "we're rolling suicide". Great reactions tho. I have to instantly watch them every time you post a new one. You are hilarious. I've said this before, but one day you will be as big as @NoLifeShaq
"Just before 9 /11 people where understandably very sensitive." Uuum dude...whaaat? Hell NO!!! Don't you get that this doesn't make ANY sense?!!! BEFORE 9/11 People couldn't have been sensitive about it! Logically they didn't even know about it as it didn't fu****ng happen! They didn't see in the future! This was released in August 01. So the name of the song did NOT change because of 9/11 . It didn't have anything to do with that.
@@wioi fucking hell they made a mistake, calm your shit you psycho.
SOAD are the GOAT, try 'Sugar', 'Toxicity', 'deer dance', 'B.Y.O.B' to get started, you won't regret it!
Steve Parker Suggestions!
@@teamfingahs4907 I just left 4 suggestions! oh you mean the SOAD song suggestions lol yea that is awesome, deep and chaotic. There's loads more I could add :)
Steve Parker Suggestions is the essential System song to play for the uninitiated for sure.
nah prison song
Sugar please or prison song.
Guitarist Daron said before.. "When people die, they will be regarded differently depending on the way they pass.. Like, if I were to die from a drug overdose, everyone would say I deserved it because I abused drugs, hence the line '"Angels deserve to die"
The fact that you're learning about all the music that got me through my childhood gives me hope for our future
I enjoyed this reaction so much because that's basically how I responded when I first heard this too 🤣 I couldn't stop dancing either! I was confused and excited 😂😂😂. Shout out to you and this comment section for educating me.
You never fail to brighten my day
Im glad i ran across this channel. This dude is hilarious! Needed some humor right now. Just subscribed
Wow! Thanks for turning me on to these guys. I'll be sharing this with my son and bro.nlaw.
My favorite part of the music video for this song has always been that 2-second shot of the lead singer and a bunch of people just casually eating chop suey. It has nothing to do with anything, it's just a random reference to the name of the song thrown into the middle of a shot. I love it.
I love your reaction videos to Rock and metal music. They are really wholesome. Keep 'em coming
I remember when this song first came out I was afraid to sing the words "when Angels deserve to die". I literally thought an Angel was going to show up behind me and strike me down. Still the song was sooooo good I eventually got over the fear.
"Angels deserve to die" when they do nothing... just "sitting on the sidelines" , as Maynard of TOOL writes 'Right In Two'.
Read, and you won't need get too far into it for the Answer, The Book of Enoch...... Read of how Azazel & companions 'earned' their Eternal Fate....
You are awesome, we LOVE YOU! Keep killing it! You always put a smile on my face after a hard days work so thank you. And System of A Down is one of my favorite rock bands ever. Sheer talent!
This is a song about how the Turks killed one and a half million Armenians in 1915
Why did they do that?
Because they try to make Turkey and Azarbadjan into one big area. And Armenia is a Christian country in between the two.
Much more to it than that, google the history.
It is extremely tension between them to this day. Turkey and Azarbadjan actually attecked an Armenian territory just a couple of months ago... :(
A lot of their songs are about that, but not this one.
Im just commenting on Sarah Simms question about why they did that
@@sarahsimms9713 because they were Islamic and Islam wants to kill all infidels and rule the world.
I just came across your channel and subscribed. You’re jamming a bunch of my favorite tunes and I love seeing your reaction and joy to these songs!
Gods I miss the shirtless bassist days.
Sameee
Fine I'll start playing shirtless.
Flea: uh...hello?
you're awesome dude! keep 'em comin!
I remember being a freshman on the football team and being very intimidated in the weight room. This song came on and all those insecurities went away.
"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
Father, into your hands
Why have you forsaken me?
In your eyes, forsaken me
In your thoughts, forsaken me
In your heart forsaken me."
Yes, he is singing to the Almighty.
scary man is daron aka the mastermind behind system; a creative genious is what he is.
All of Daron's work is great; I was always more of a fan of Serj's voice but his solo work is nowhere near as good as the stuff Daron did after they disbanded.
He's the reason they broke up..trying to strong-arm Serge and make him his little biotch..with a smaller cut of the loot!!
@@pxpunklv they literally still tour.
With the voice of an angel, which always unnerved me lol
@RegurgiNate keep thinking that
Man, it's just so awesome to see someone truly love music. Keep em going bro!
Out of all the reactions from people I have seen, I like yours the most
This has to be the 20th reaction video ive watched for system, I love the reactions. Serj has so much power in his voice.
Hahaha scary dudes name is Daron Malakian. Real unique and talented 🐐
Video gets hilarious at 5:31 😂🤣🤣 "screaming to the heavens?" "The devil was an angel, they cast his 🍑 off. You see wth he's at now".. 😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣7:09 omg!! "Let me ****ing know" [kick]😂🤣🤣 I'm laughing so hard at those comments. I'm crying 😂😂😂. That was the best reaction ever. You're hilarious dude.
When he was like, "What the hell was that?" I was like (black girl vibe), "That's just Darren." That wasn't even anything. Just see him stoned as heck shredding guitar solos with a water bottle at Big Day Out or something. The song was influenced after the bassist had a cousin (I think it was a cousin) who died by suicide. I once showed my cousin this song 11 years old and she said it sounds like a Christian song. I laughed.
JustAThoughtMyFriend well, it has Christian elements...I’m not even religious but I recognized that he was singing what Jesus said as he was dying on the cross “Father into your hands, I commend my spirit. Father into your hands, why have you forsaken me?” Etc etc.
Seen them live once. Absolutely amazing. One of the few bands that sound just as good live as they do in the studio. The guy running the sound board gave me the set list from the show. Good times.
YOU STOPPED IT AT ABSOLUTELY THE WRONG TIME BRO!!!!! The rock gods are angry my man. LOL
Your reactions are great...love this channel.
I went from a chill music session, easing into my morning but then I saw you uploaded this and I've never been so hyped to get my Tuesday going. Great stuff as always!!! 😂😂😂
Just a heads up this song is about standing up for women who are battered.
Exactly
Yep
wait really? how is anyone supposed to get that from the lyrics wut?
Oh, wow. I thought for sure it was about the Armenian genocide because about half their songs are about that.
💯❣️

Dude You nead to react to Toxicity by system of a down
I remember the first time I heard this song, I was in 6th grade and September 11th just happened. When they sing “I cry when angels deserve to die” I always thought about all of the poor people who died that day as the “angels” he’s referring to.
Angels don't always deserve to die...
But when they do...
I cry.
When do Angels deserve to die? When they come down and mate with our women! Gen. 6 v 1-7
i have had a couple of days when all i do is wake up work form home , alone in my room and the small breaks in between you are the one that brings a smile on my face...you are honest and a true born star. just know that on each day we feel meh or down there will be a day that will put a smile on your face and good energies. Just know that this is what you do to ppl thank you stay awesome
When this came out. I was picking my dad up from work playing this album. I asked if he wanted me to turn it down or off. He said no. This sounds like what i use to listen to in the 70's.
I just stumbled across you. I absolutely love your videos. Thank you from Hinton Alberta ❤❤
Watch BYOB you will never be the same after.
Graduation day for music! Your moving in a great direction. Love these guys and love watching you enjoy.
given that the song is about physical abuse in a relationship, I think it means that sometimes, these "angels" (the women getting beat up) are better off dead than going through the whole abuse. in my opinion.
I loved this so much. It definitely took me back to hearing this song for the first time when I was 13. It touched my soul when he yelled "Father!"
In the "FATHER!" scream section he is quoting Jesus during his last hours. "father why have you forsaken me" is straight from the Bible. Also, the "angels deserve to die" part is both about Jesus in the cross and battered women who feel their only way out is suicide. Sad and powerful song when you know those facts
Your reaction to this video had me cracking up! I can't stop watching it😆😆😆
BabyMetal - Gimme Chocolate
you wont be disappointed. 🤣
Mr.V., you, my dear kind sir, ARE NOT dumb! Far from it!!! ( please don’t devalue yourself like that ). You have a very natural, laid back and innate sense of humor and relate very well with the camera and your viewers. You seem comfortable in your own “ skin “, just you doing you ( even when you’re having a bad day ). You’re a kind and loving soul, just trying to do the right thing. We all fall short...ALL, each and everyone of us. I appreciate your efforts. Great reaction/review as always. ☺️👏👏👏

When they turn there backs on the creator when they think themselves above the one all mighty. Or simply side with those that do. IE the Lucifer crusade and those who joined him.
They wanted to call this rolling suicide but was told they couldn't bc it was too depressing or something. So they named it chop suey. This song has also been called the bohemian rhapsody of the 90s/grunge age

I was so happy to get the notification for this reaction! I remember hearing that song when it first came out and going, "I don't know what the fuck this is... BUT I LIKE IT."
"Father into your hands, I commit my spirit" is a Bible verse - Jesus talking to God
Your reactions got a sub from me...lovin’ it! You’re cracking me up good sir!
this is in the perspective of Jesus dying on the cross. Therefore reciting a lot of the bible Luke 23:46: "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit"
.Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34: "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"
This also relates to "self-righteous suicide" and “when angels deserve to die”
