Never in all my days would I have ever thought someone else shared the same obsession with not only the Lego Studios era, but the 2002 Raimi Spider-Man run AND that official movie merchandise logo. Something indescribably precious about it. Still got that goblin set to this day. Your attention to detail is immaculate. Incredible video man!
Really enjoyed this perspective. As an 80s/90s kid who often pines after the days before Lego began licensing IP, it's nice to hear what this era meant for kids growing up then. Loved the vintage footage!
@finndeets There was the 2012 San Diego Comic Con exclusive classic black suit Spider-Man minifig. And to this day it's the only time Lego officially made a symbiote Spider-Man minifig. We got tons of Venom's and Venom-ized versions of other Marvel characters but for some reason no symbiote Spidey in a regular set. To try and rectify this I just bought a custom made symbiote Spidey head online and I'm gonna put it on a Venom minifig lol.
You killed this video Finn! 4:05 this audience reaction sent me back in time man! I agree with you 1000%! Collecting Lego sets as a kid was such a simpler time. Used to spend hours on my family computer watching Lego stop motions lmao
I used to have the spider man 2 dock ock bank heist set when i was a kid, but i stoopidly ended up trading the spider man minifig for a storm trooper with some kid when i was in 1st grade
As someone who animates stop motions with "Mega Bloks". Gotta say I'll always defend Mega's Spider-man run and gently remind fans that Mega made comic figures such as lizard, rhino and sandman before Lego and those are pretty iconic figures in the mega marvel sphere. they also made costumes that even Lego haven't made such as the Spider-armor mk1 and Andrew Garfield's Tasm 1 look (even a white spider variant that looks like the ps4/5 games) but at the end of the day, I'll always be happy it returned to Lego as the no way home sets finally letting adults like me who missed out on those early 2002/04 spidey sets, finally get a Tobey/Doc ock/goblin figure is something I'll forever treasure.
As a kid watching the old lego spiderman stop motion videos on youtube, i was totally convinced that the spiderman lego minifigs were fake or custom because i didnt see them on shelves, I must have missed them growing up. Rightfully so tho, im pretty sure my parents made sure to avoid any lego isles when going shopping with me because id probably scream and stay and or beg for a set lmao. I did get a ton of spiderman 3 megs blocks sets with those mech things as well as the final construction sight scene, that was my shit. I personally thought back then the molds were sooooooo good, like the new goblin figure was genuinely amazing. I got the new no way home set and finally got my first tobey figure, definitely my most desired fig from the set, but I feel satisfied and content now that after so many years I now have the doc ock and green goblin figures, even if theyre new. Feels good.
14:49 your theory of the heads being recolored is likely correct. Both heads appeared in Lego World City and Lego City but Yellow Color. My best guess is early development The skin tones were still gonna be yellow, but flesh skin tones were coming out with Star Wars and Harry Potter so Lego decided it made sense for Lego Spiderman to get the same treatment.
This is an amazing videos for a channel with only 553 subs, I expected to look down and see a much larger number. Keep up the passion and amazing work!
Finn you cooked I needed this kinda video on this topic specifically, Lego studio is one of my favorite properties they ever did, seriously one of the best and I wish they’d bring it back, but god this era of Lego spider-man was just the best. Loved this video dude you absolutely cooked
I always loved the Spider-Man figures in this line over the new ones. I know the recent ones are meant to be based on the cartoons and comic versions, but to me their not as high quality as the original figures with the beautiful prints and gorgeous silver webbing.
As a kid and even looking back as an adult the 2000's-2015 was peek Lego....Sure there were still good set's after that but the pricing is ridiculous and some of the charm feels missing...For the most part
Little correction: Peter did not get his powers from Oscorp in the Raimi films. He got them from a field trip to Columbia Universities Science Division.
I have LEGO Spider-Man 2 sets apart from Doc Ock's hiding place, I really wanted to have this set which was very expensive at the time and today it's rare (at least I got the Harry minifigure separately) and I really want to have the Spider-Man 1 sets, I only got the Mary Jane minifigure from the Green Goblin set with it. I was obsessed with LEGO Spider-Man when I was little (and still am) and it's a shame there's no LEGO Spider-Man 3, but I also had Mega Bloks sets and they were really good.
The Doc Ock figures aren't identical. Technically they all had different facial expressions. It was fun to have that nuance when making stop motion videos when I was a kid.
I love the raimi trilogy! I grew up with it but my favorite is Tom Holland! And btw I actually got the og 2002 spiderman Minifigure for a sweet deal!(₱149/$2) I am really grateful to own one of the best and rarest spiderman Minifigures! The seller I bought it from must've been like "oh it's old it's probably worth a few bucks"
Would love if they did a spider verse line similar to the infinity saga sets where they do sets based on all Spider-Man movies and maybe insomniac games
I don't mind that Spidey, Green Goblin and Doc Ock came in pretty much every set. Kids don't have much money, meaning they can't always get the entire line of sets to get both the villain and hero. I'd much rather have 5 of the same Spidey and Doc Ock over how it is today when the villain is only available in the most expensive set or just isn't included at all (Wheres my Ego and High Evolutionary Lego)
Ya know what I absolutely agree with you. Definitely agree that the practice of saving majorly important characters for expensive sets is terrible. I think what I meant was that for the pack of the full wave specifically, you would have a ton of the same character left over. But i agree that that is something LEGO needs to work on, making all of those characters affordable. It sucks I have to buy the final battle to get the new Tobey
Thanks to these sets... they made great brickfilms but what i remember the most is the lego spider-man series. Too many to remember like some comedic ones and the ones who told serious stories. Like SM3VENOM Grant Watson's Lego Spider-Man The Series, and then The Amazing Lego Spider-Man By DarkSpidey34. Many memorable videos of lego spider-man thanks to these sets that i wished i could join in too cause of it but couldnt get them back then T~T PS: wished they could also try to make lego spider-man 3 just to see the black suit, venom, sandman and new goblin minifigures. And no mega bloks doesnt count
The most insane thing about the action pack is it includes ONLY the parts that the Wrestling Scene would have needed to recreate the Unity Festival building, the backdrop to one of the building card standees is a wrestling crowd! Lego originally intended for all three sets in the wave to combine, but when the last one was cancelled, the action kit was released as supplement.

Means so much dude!! So glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching :)
Now you seem like a cool person
Lego studios line actually cooked with all the MINIFIGS and sets Fr 🔥🔥
Agreed 🙏🏻
FR
Loved the video @@finndeets
@@finndeetsthe lego spider man 3 sets would have come out in 2007 and the amazing spider man lego sets 2012
Really enjoyed this perspective. As an 80s/90s kid who often pines after the days before Lego began licensing IP, it's nice to hear what this era meant for kids growing up then. Loved the vintage footage!
Thank you so much dude means a ton!! U had a lot of fun putting this together. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Shame we never got Spider-Man 3 Lego sets. Black suit would’ve been sick
Totally agree. I don’t think we ever got an official Black Suit Spidey from Lego? Unless it’s an exclusive I’m just not aware of

Lego Studios was so amazing. It took me forever to get the Spinosaurus set, but I grew up with the Raptor attack set

That is some great insight!! Thank you for the comment dude!!
Watched this while I was in the gym. Great commentary on such a niche line from lego! Great editing as well Finny, well done.
Appreciate u bro thank you!!!
I laughed, I learned, I cried? Nah but I did learn a lot! Thanks Finn!

I deeply appreciate your use of the NeverSoft Spider-Man 2000 game soundtrack. Great video!!!
Classic!! And thanks bro!!
Finally some respect on this line. These sets have such a special place in my heart as a Brickfilm fan growing up. Awesome video man keep it up!
Thank you so much dude!!

THANK YOU BRO!! Dude the old studios era stuff is so good, def not talked about enough. Thank you for the love!!!
Great video! I really liked seeing the action figures released alongside the Minifigs during this time period
Thanks man! Dude i love the toybiz era stuff so nostalgiv

Bro this so good how is it this underrated
Appreciate that so much!!!
Amazing video!
Thank you SO much!!!
The NWH set even has an expansion set with Sand man and Lizard! I think you will like that lol!
Hey, maybe we could do Lego Batman
14:51 Yo is that Lex Luther from forest fire 101 🤨🤨
i am a 2000s kid but man i loved all of this
I have a new Marvels What If episode idea:
What if Lego managed to make Spiderman 3 sets if they didn’t lose the license?
dope video! immediately subscribed! hope for more great content like this in the future
Thank you so much!! I appreciate it a ton. More videos coming soon!!
That doc oc minifig was prob like 10 tops back then. Possibly cheaper. It’s only $40 now so back in 2009ish it was likely very affordable
14:01 bro, that’s my first lego spiderman set.
This channel is awesome!
Thank you so much!! :)
Agreed
Great video! What an awesome deep dive!🔥
Thank you SO much!!!

That’s so kind thank you so much!!!
Little correction: Peter did not get his powers from Oscorp in the Raimi films. He got them from a field trip to Columbia Universities Science Division.
In 2020 I got that 2004 Raimi Spider-Man for like $20 on eBay. A year later it shot up to $80. I was surprised in the moment.
That’s a steal!! Definitely going to track down the 2004 Spidey and Ock one of these days
8:47 Holy shit they made a Scott Wozniak minifig back in 2002!!!
"Scrolling Ebay on my Dad's phone."
Yup. I'm old now.
Dock ock has different faces in the Spider-Man 2 line

Thought this video couldn’t get better and then a I hear an 8bit cover of Radiohead’s Optimistic
loved this video, your channel is what i would do if i had a youtube channel, so it kinda sucks you dont have more subs

That’s so good to know!! Thank you for the comment!!
Waiting for your current videos to live up to this peak…
Bro 🤣🤣🤣 I’m so glad you like this one this much
It’s sad to see Lego marvel falling from grace
I haven’t bought a new marvel set in YEARS. Idk what they are even doing these days
I love the raimi trilogy! I grew up with it but my favorite is Tom Holland! Good news Lego is making a Miles Vs The Spot Spiderverse set dropping in January 2025

I denfenetly remember when they relesed the set in "2022"😂
Random scientist? Put some respect on Doctor Stromms name!
Facts 😭
So... Steven Spielberg changed Lego forever then?

That’s amazing I did not know that!! Thank you for the comment!
