What an ear feast!! And you can tell that both Tommy and Martin have listened to Johnny Smith, Tal Farlow, Barney Kessel and all of the other great jazz guitarists, plus BB King, too! Wonderful playing!!

Don't forget Charlie Christian, who wrote this.

I'm quite normal and not an alcoholic however I'm applauding crazily and moving my head like and epileptic at Tommy's concert. His music just required me to return to my senses and I'm not the only one!
I 'm going to meet and see him tonight and try to be inhibited but it's going to be a challenge look at Tommy's foot....

Is there anything TE can't play as if it was the only thing he knows?

And Tommy says he,s not a jazz guitarist.

That's because he rarely uses chord changes when playing his solos.

Baruchim he does use chord changes. He visualises the chords and plays around with them.

One of the only videos I've seen of Tommy not using his signature Maton. Anybody know what this is? Looks like an LR Baggs soundhole pickup. Nobody post a tone is in the hands comment! I just like gear...

Ben Fletcher Tommy is Playing a Martin 000-15. Chet Atkins himself gave Tommy that guitar

ryushu Thanks man. That's neat, there was a lot of mutual respect going on between two great players. Nice looking axe too, very different sound to his Maton.

ça c'est vraiment de la "GUITARE-JAZZ". Mon Dieu !

Tommy for once thankfully did not have a Maton, but was it a Martin or a Taylor?
