I was wondering if one should be drilling a stop hole at the end of the crack to stop the crank from continuing before you weld. This is common in the airplane repair industry to stop[p cracks from expanding. The crack in the cylinder appears to be above the top ring, if you were to weld below this top ring I guess that would be a complete new issue?
@@brianferguson6278 Where this crack was I could not easily get in with drill so I had to use long small burr grind bit to make a groove and then weld over it so keeping my fingers crossed!
