Your machine looks exactly like the one I’ve just ordered but the one I ordered is a Dualit. I like this one because of the simplicity. I was going to buy an all singing all dancing De’longhi but I just want a decent cup of coffee.

Hi Rob, The Scott Slassimo looks like a rebranded Beco CEG5311X £350.00+ and Smeg Lavazza £600.00+, some companies do this to increase there revenues etc and is a common practice with TV's, like LG and Sony but much harder to tell the difference so for me the Slassimo is a no brainer because given its similarity its more than likely that the electronics and heating element etc will be the same as the more expensive options with just the branding and hight adjustable dispenser cover thats different to throw people off the sent so thanks for the review and good luck with the channel

Interested to know if the steam wand expels any water before the steam comes out? My experience with other machines is that about 25-30ml of water comes out and ruins the flavor of the milk.

    • @lorabuddyandrob2290
      @lorabuddyandrob2290  Год назад +1

Hey there, When you press the steam button the machine runs a initial priming cycle where 20ml-ish of water is ejected, this takes a few seconds. The machine will then beep indicating it’s ready, you can lower the nozzle into your milk and press the button again. This will start the steam and no water comes out.

Hi nice video thanks it’s the first one I’ve watched I think on the Scott brand, it looks nice I’m too looking for a bean to cup machine and also no coffee expert. I like the look and colour of the smeg ones and their size but they seem overly priced. Then looked at the Beko ones and then came across your video 👍. Could you advise how deep it is from back to front? Thanks again.

    • @lorabuddyandrob2290

I took a look at the manual and they mention:
The desired volume of Espresso, Lungo and hot water can be memorised, ranging from 25ml to 250ml.
      1. To make your coffee (either Espresso or Lungo) or dispense hot water, press and hold the corresponding button. Hold the button while the appliance is making the drink.
      2. When the drink reaches your desired volume, release the button. Two beep sounds will be heard, indicating that the volume is memorised. You can get the exact volume of coffee every time during future use.
      3. Reset the volume to factory settings by selecting default settings (see FURTHER SETTINGS - III. MODE SELECTION)
I was almost going to disregard this machine completely after hearing the water was a set amount :O

We have one of these machines and love the way it works BUT the espresso is very watery as the amount of coffee it uses per shot is too little in our opinion.

I bought one of these and it's great. Very happy with it.
    BUT...
The instructions miss out a step in the descaling process. On page 26 under Descaling after step 6 where you press the Power and Espresso button together and they both flash you THEN have to press the Espresso button to actually start the process. First time I tried descaling both the descaling light and the Espresso light sat there for an hour flashing without anything happening!
There should be a Step 6 and a half: Press the Espresso button.

    • @svenabend360

Unfortunately since this is a bean to cup, it cannot make that mouthful thick syrup espresso, like a pure espresso machine. The best you can do is set the grind to finest and accept that.
