John Squire has played this differently over the years and plays certain parts in different positions for example on the last tours The Stone Roses did.

Yes I think John overdubbed many guitars throughout the intro solo but you captured the parts that stand out the most nicely… I’ve been trying to get it close by ear and this video definitely supplements what I’m figuring out… best cover on here👍🏽

I can indeed it's an "Octaver" pedal. I use a software program called Bias FX that can put certain guitar pedal effects on my recorded sound just like having the pedal.

5th string yes, well spotted Tab is wrong should be 5th String slide up to 14th fret and 12th and 14th fret in that phrase... oops
