Back in 1993 my son's football team at Prospect High in Saratoga did this same thing for a kid with Down Syndrome. With just a minute or so left in the game they put in this kid to take a hand off and run it up the middle. My son was in front of him to make sure no one was going to get in the way. As I recall the other team did not know what was going on. He ran it in and got the touchdown, the stadium went crazy with applause cheers. Pretty exciting thing for the kid. This type of thing has been happening around the country for a long time.
