    Depending on the tribe, the combination varies greatly. While there's 3 variety of peppers in your mix (you are most probably yoruba), the ibo people will do 100% tomatoes, plus tomato paste and practically no form of pepper.... I've come to understand, there is no wrong or right.
    Thanks. I've learnt a lot❤

      I'm Ibo and I love pepper cause I grew up in Lagos but you are right, most Ibos don't really like so much pepper. For me , no matter how delicious a soup is, if it isn't peppery I hate it. 😂

      Unfortunately bell peppers vary in sizes so it’s quite difficult to say the exact numbers because the sizes differ which is why I used the percentage to explain
      We are all learning 🤗 no one will come for you

    Tatase is not red bell pepper. Red bell pepper is also called sweet pepper because you can eat it raw. Your ratio is 👌🏿

    • @bcamplite621
      @bcamplite621 Год назад +1

      They are literally the same species, Capsicum annuum. Tatashe is the native (to Nigeria) version of Bell Peppers. Google it.

    • @enoquinessien3467
      @enoquinessien3467 Год назад

      @@bcamplite621 The definition for bell pepper is clear....no heat of whatsoever. Tatase isn't clearly in that league because it has heat even if by a little. Kindly Google different species of pepper. My take is that it is okay to call it tatase and not try to push it as a bell pepper. Habanero is habanero, Jalapeño is Jalapeño...so, tatase should be tatase.

    • @bcamplite621
      @bcamplite621 Год назад

      @@enoquinessien3467 sorry that's your definition. The definition of Bell Pepper is any member of the species Capsicum annuum, that is the scientific name. What we call Tatashe in Nigeria is a variety of Capsicum annuum, it is a bell pepper. We call it Tatashe because that is our local name for it, while we reserve the word Bell Pepper for the other variety commonly sold by Hausas but they are both Bell Peppers, just different varieties. The original video author is 100% right in using the terms interchangeably, but colloquially we call them different names, that is colloquial usage which you seem to have taken as gospel. It's like saying Plum and Cherry tomatoes are different plants when they are literally just varieties of the same tomato plant (Solanum lycopersicum) and there are literally hundreds of different varieties, same goes for Bell Peppers.

    • @enoquinessien3467
      @enoquinessien3467 Год назад

      @@bcamplite621 It is not my definition, it is a well known definition. Check a pepper chart. I grew pepper as a side hobby once so I definitely had to check a pepper chart. Again, Tatase is tatase, that is my argument, no need to try and give it an English name. Peppers have various names but similar sizes, we can as well say all peppers shaped like shombo are to be called shombo because they are same 'family'. Bell peppers have no heat and are called sweet peppers for a reason

    • @bcamplite621
      @bcamplite621 Год назад +1

      @@enoquinessien3467 the definitions are already documented scientifically, it has nothing to do with shape or appearance, every plant on earth is classified and has a scientific name. Based on this documented classification, I repeat, Tatashe and Bell Peppers (as we refer to them) are both members of the same species, Capsicum annuum (Grossum Group), the English name for this is Bell Pepper. You say there is no need to give Tatashe an English name, and I say, you don't get to decide that. There is already an English name for Tatashe, it's called (Nigerian) Red Bell Pepper.
      For your information, there are literally dozens of Bell Pepper varieties, like Pimento, Purple Beauty, Orange Sun, Chocolate Beauty, Poblano, etc. They are all varieties of the same plant, Bell Pepper. Tatashe is one of these varieties native to Nigeria. When I go to the market I will differentiate the names I use to refer to them, that does not mean that someone is wrong who refers to them ALL as Bell Peppers.
