Been strict carnivore for 6 months, fighting cancer.
I've lost all excess wieght at 3 months in. Prediabetes is gone, insulin at 3.6... but LDL is up from 200 to 346...
HDL at 55, triglycerides at 113... my cardiologist is freaking out, screaming statins... I feel better than I have in decades, cancer is almost gone, due to carnivore and a couple supplements...
I am not worried about the LDL, but everyone else is....like my wife...

Edit: Also the crippling anxiety I use to face nearly every day. While I still feel it, it doesn't control me and I can still operate. Obviously a "diet" can't fix everything in your life and other issues but again it's helped me to maintain and control any type of emotion I feel at that time. Just the thought of being like that again is enough for me to never eat sugar/carbs for the rest of my life.

Everyone around me told me I was crazy for the first few months, and now all I get are questions regarding how hard is this diet, I tell them it's not a diet it's a key to life. I've got another 40lbs. to go before I get to my goal weight, only then will I start to incorporate a workout regime. Thank you Doc.. That's quite a lengthy response for utube comments, I was wondering what, in general could cause this.
      Here's the pertinent info.
57 yrs old, male, never overweight, heart attack and 7 stents 13 years ago, also at that time I was diagnosed with emphysema.. I smoked until the day of my heart attack but quit cold Turkey that day.
I also ate the SAD until that day.
After my stents I did a brief tour of veganism and got way too thin.
After that I researched and took myself off statins before it was fashionable.
Since then I've gone lower and lower carb, and only ate real food.
In 2021 I got the ' plague' and was in the hospital 4 days.ive never been quite rite since than.for awhile I had crushing fatigue and went thru all the typical tests and they found no problems other than my lungs.
And then last year i started having digestive problems like reflux and gut pain and also got the plague again. Then my doc .checked my cholesterol ldl 435, triglycerides 70, hdl 50. So the doctor freaked out and thought I was gonna drop dead at any minute, but I knew it wasn't my heart. I passed stress test, had a very low calcium score and showed no problems on EKG with a really good ejection fraction of 65%.
I've glossed over quite a bit since it would take forever to explain all the nuance.
I believe I may have been dead years ago if I hadn't drastically reduced my carbs.
The doc. Never did give me any worthwhile answer, and even suggested that anxiety medicine might help.which I laughed at.
I currently take no meds except a trelegy maintenance inhaler and I take nattokinase for blood platelet aggregation, and a magnesium pill.
I wasn't going to explain all this and just wanted to know what things I could look to for possibilities.
Also, I never had the plague injection, but I dont doubt that the infections themself may have caused my problems.
But the xanthelasma has appeared in the last couple months while nothing else really changed. There's not alot of info about this, but one common denominator seems to be very high ldl.
I thank you for the inquiry.

We are all our own science experiment, so the only way to know if carnivore will help is to try it and get your blood drawn after some time on the diet, say four to eight weeks. Keep tweaking things to see how they affect you internally and eventually you'll find what works for you. I know it's not the answer your want to hear, but everything affects everyone differently. The only way to know for sure is to try something and measure the results.

Anthony, might be worth starting to incorporate menoapause and associated symptoms with the community as we're seeing a trend in lipid increase in our menopause community. Its not just about cessation or cycling or hot flushes. Dr Mary Clare Haver talks about the risk of heart disease in menopausal women who are progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone deficiencies.

To me, that woman seems to be pushing HRT and making it out like it's a medical necessity for all women and doctors should be ashamed for "denying care" blah blah. The real problem is people eating like crap, never moving, never seeing the sun. She's pushing for yet another bandaid you'll be chained to the pharmacy for instead of a real solution.
Also the way she talks about menopause feels like the way certain people talk about kids going through puberty. Like it's some unnatural thing that women "shouldn't have to suffer through", even though it's a completely normal process that all women go through. It's concerning.

Found it. Minnesota Coronary Experiment. Read it. Memorize it. This is irrefutable evidence that lowering saturated fats (meat fat) not only doesn't prevent heart disease, but rather reducing cholesterol causes harm. Any associative or epistemological study refuting this isn't even in the same league of this study, given how controlled this experiment was. BS surveys vs Randomized Controlled Trial. If anyone says what about your cholesterol, you show them this.

Gradually he would like to see her getting back to meat and 3 veg. This may be of some help to you.

You can get them at the pharmacy or supermarket. He said this would be tapered off to maybe 0-1 tablets a day, but she obviously wasn't absorbing the nutrients from the meat and butter because her bowels were a solid mass! That has always been the mntra of interested parties (tobacco, fossil fuel industries)
"We don't have to prove anything, just sew doubt and the gullible public will give us a free pass"
If carnivore works for people, let em do it. There are always going to be a few bad stories.
