25 year airline mechanic here, so I've been on a few planes, and I mean ALL legacy carriers. No one cleans their aircraft the way they say they do. TRUST ME, I know! So I fully agree with your video assessment. It's a marketing/selling point created by the pandemic, that all of this extra cleaning is taking place before you board an aircraft. These videos illustrating this deep, thorough cleaning and sanitizing is a load of crap!!! We don't have the time between flights nor do we pay anyone to do this for us. That's absurd in itself...airlines are about making as much money as possible, that's just the game. The most that gets done is a cabin service person walking through and picking up the big and obvious items and wiping down a tray table here and there. So be sure to take care of your area's cleanliness yourself. *Just keeping it 100 with everyone*
I always have the wipes to wipe down the tray table and the seat seat handles and seat belt buttons. This was before the pandemic. I also wear pants and a jacket because I just don't like my legs and arms touching the seats. If I sit by the window I wipe that around the window as well
Finally!! Yes what he’s saying is true! Especially if there is not enough turn time for the next flight. I’m not a mechanic but I do work for an airline.
Just as an update for anyone watching after September 2021: a lot of the stuff mentioned in this video was COVID regulation. Strange (no sodas, but they have beer?) but nonetheless, now all has changed. Delta One transcontinental offers full meal service, soda, etc etc. I am not sponsored by Delta but i do choose to fly it more often than not.
Glad to read this review as I’m flying the Delta One suites from Amsterdam to JFK soon. I’m very much looking forward to it as this will be my first experience with the new suite layout!
I am Platinum Medallion, and this video confirms why I just pay for main cabin and hope for upgrades lol. To me it's just not worth it, even when they reduced the price (only paid for it once and that was because it was $50 more than economy for a 4 hour flight, at that point I'll pay that for a much more comfortable seat).
"...Qatar's newly introduced Q Suite, which we all know and love." Yeah... totally. I, er, love flying in the Q Suites on all of the trips. Know it really well, that Q Suite... thing.
Oh, toooootallly. I was like, oh for sure, the Q suites. Know ‘em. Love ‘em. Mmmhhhmmm. Yep. Me and the 1%, we’re super tight. If fact, here in America, I am so disturbed that they would dare to call their lowly business class ‘first class’ that I choose to protest this injustice by flying with the lowly economy class people.
The Qsuite is widely known as the best of the best business class. All premium intl flyers know this, so I'm assuming that he is assuming this audience.
@@coryCuc I'm aware you're all being sarcastic. I'd have to be blind not to see that. But I was explaining that he probably expected his viewing audience to be avid business class fliers. The high quality of Q suites is very common knowledge across this audience.
I literally watched my first Sam Chui video last night. Immediately I realized it was not an actual experience video, it's an advertisement. The whole crew of his flight was on his video, that only happens with the airlines cooperation.
I just had a similar experience with a video he made...it was just too fake and creepy. The airline attendant looked pretty uncomfortable kissing his ass too being forced to be in the video too.
Check out Noel Phillips if you want a decent airline review video. While he does some first class etc, he also quite often flies economy and rates that as well. Since I'll probably never have an opportunity to fly the "fancy" class seats, I appreciate the honest reviews of what I can afford
Well, the Q suite is the Holy Grail of business class from Qatar Airlines. Best of the best. All of the premium international flyers are aware of Q suites - lol. :-)
I know the feeling. I was flying under a government passport and flew into a certain ally government’s airport and looked at all the customs signs, I didn’t feel I deserved to get in the “diplomat” line, I’m not a diplomat, just a lowly schlub working for uncle sugar…. got in “foreigner” line, waited my turn… as soon as I got to front and showed him my passport he called over supervisor who sent me to diplomat line where I waited for fifteen minutes with nobody behind counter. Then same supervisor came over and sat down, made me wait another ten minutes before he looked up and waved me forward like he just realized I was there. Then he looked over my passport and papers like he hadn’t seen them at the other counter…. Finally he asked two questions and sent me forward. Funny thing is, when I had first gotten there and checked all the signs he was standing next to the diplomat counter waiting, the stalling was because I had chosen wrong. I asked friends at work, half of them had done similar… nobody tells you when you get the government employee passport to get in the diplomat lane at the airport….. we aren’t real diplomats, but I guess it doesn’t matter…..
I have been crew on one of Sam Chui's flights and he is an awful person. He has very little respect for crew and makes them do ridiculous things. It is all staged and he will ask you to do things the crew is obviously very uncomfortable with. I admire his passion but he is a very different person behind the scenes unfortunately...
One of the things that made me stop watching Sam’s videos was how he kind of seems to corner the crew into being involved in his content. They often seem uncomfortable with being used as props and he does it anyway. Much better, and less biased resources our there.
he creeps me out in so many ways. his conversations with others are generally awkward...and when he talks to women, especially female crews, it reminds me of, you know, that one uncle every family has who has been single for a long time lol
I am glad someone is telling the truth. I used to liked Sam Chui older videos, now everything is all PR and staged. Airline and crew gives him special treatment to get good image and review from a "influencer ".
Wow Hans that's quite the insight - thanks for sharing. I too have heard many experiences of people having him onboard and sadly these have indeed been similar. I hope that someday he realises this behaviour is unacceptable and rethinks his attitude to some of the most important people in the sky - cabin crew
You're dead right about Sam, he is totally in the airlines pocket, I'd love to know the last time he paid a standard price for a first or business class ticket.
They opened a chain of WaWa(s) in my city, and that's a great place to get a custom made sub or burrito, I even go there for lunch when I'm not getting gas. How I do wish they keep the Brisket year-round though.
Flying used to be enjoyable, now it’s just a notch above train travel in congested metro areas. Between checking in at the airport with rude staff, inconsiderate folks and loss of services it seems air travel will be out of my plans for a long while
@@kennethflores93 you forgot being molested by security while everyone watches. They get way to handsy for my comfort and oh lord if you ask for a female, you are definitely hiding something. I will never do that again!

I see someone answering no here. Guys let's not lie. Sam chui does criticise, pay attention to any of his videos and you will hear it. He just keeps his criticism minimal.
@@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298 probably because if he travels for business he might get banned from an airline if he makes a really critical review. I've seen him criticize food before though, but he is a lot nicer about it.
Great video. I usually enjoy Delta but haven't flown them since Covid started. That was one filthy seat. Keep up the good work, I love your videos (and honoured I got a cameo in this one!)
Thanks for the kind words Noel really appreciate it. Big fan of your content. Hope to cross paths in an airport sometime - I’m sure it’s just a matter of time 😅
@@signature1990 what so only someone with a million + subscribers can comment on Sam Chui? 😂 award for the most hilarious comment lad, do you ever read back what you write ?
It’s hilarious how they claim cutting costs is for “our safety”, I’d rather they just honestly admit saying times are tough for the industry so we’re cutting costs
"for your safety" is literally a blank check for anything nowadays. People have been living in fear for so long that theyll accept anything if its sold to them as a safety measure
You're not likely going to find the jetblue mint fare of $399 one way between nyc and California. Those are quite rare. I fly that route a few times a year and jetblue is usually my first choice. $550 to $700 is a more realistic range.
Oh you should know Sam’s paid to promote the airlines, his reviews aren’t genuine. Stopped watching him years ago in favour of more honest airline vloggers, like you!
@@chucklesome1 sometimes I find myself wanting to click, but I won’t no matter how enticing the thumbnail is 😁. Including this channel you should check out some other non biased reviewers, Nonstop Dan and Josh Cahill.
I'm a new Delta employee and the massive cost cutting is definitely real. When the pandemic happened Delta offered its employees a buy-out package in order to reduce their workforce while the airline industry was losing business, unfortunately they severely underestimated how many people would take the package and leave. As a result, the airline is severely understaffed and suffering a massive experience shortage. Pilots and mechanics are being offered triple pay to work overtime because there simply aren't enough skilled people to get the work done after the airline industry has rebounded. Last year everyone got a 'profit sharing' bonus despite the fact that the airline operated at a loss last year. It may be quite a few more years before Delta gets back to it's pre-pandemic level due to the skills shortage and finances being in the toilet.
Exactly! Same thing in Canada - they underestimated how many people hated their jobs and were happy to leave and never come back to work, so now those that are left are overworked and stressed out. Hire new people?? Hell no! What kind of business plan is that? LOL
@@haifai3916 it’s not the weight ignorant person. Even the guy in the video said it was too narrow and have to sleep sideways in that seat. Lose the disrespect. 💕 Oh and if you want proof 7:09 and the video where him and his friends tested economy, premium economy, business, and first class. The business seat in that video explained how narrow it was and he couldn’t sleep on his back.
imagine spending almost 4 times as much for a plane ticket, compared to the people sitting behind you. and complaining that you didnt get what you paid for. what you got was scammed.
Especially considering a still-young, but very much rival, airline is offering not just a similar, but _superior,_ product...for a little more than _half_ the price. But, that's fuckin' Delta, for ya.
Well if you don't Love yourself, then Nobody will Love You! Just not in the Lavatory at 40,000 feet. That's not Club First, that's Mile High Club or Business Class. Just don't blame the Airlines for the cleanliness issues. Blame Sam's Club. Cheers Spot On Reviews!
FINALLY, someone has published honest and true review on Sam Chui. I was writing under each of his videos that he is fake and drives the industry into wrong direction. Thank you very much for your reviews. Glad that RUclips algorithms has showed me your channel! Top and unbiased content!
He is not really fake he's just doing his job if you would mind your own business what's not a lot of people do because you're acting just like a caring and he's making more money than you will ever make just because he's fake he is still making money
@@jeremiahmccarrell3802 That’s not the issue, good luck to him making money, actors do and always will. However, the point is, he does not admit that he is an actor, or when he gets his flights free or gets paid to do those reviews, nor give real unbiased reviews. Because of Sam, many people spend their hard earned cash thinking they will have a premium experience and then they waste their money on a bad product or bad service, or a dirty cabin. Many paid reviewers at least say they were invited to give this review...in my view, that’s dishonest, and as bad as those companies who pay people to post fake reviews about themselves on trustpilot.
if Sam Chui does not disclose that he is paid or sponsored for his reviews, he is violating FTC guidelines. If you have proof that he has undisclosed sponsorships, then please take the time to report that to the FTC so that they can open an investigation and possibly issue fines.
The fact flying is even an option is a blessing. I try not to complain, I wish for only a safe peaceful flight with all of my personal items arriving on time
I have a feeling you're thinking of the Pan AM days of the mid 20th century (back when flying was a luxury and airlines were effectively under government control). 1930s would have meant an unpressurized, barely heated, poorly insulated cargo hold with what are essentially wicker porch chairs for seating. Passengers were expected to bring sufficient warm clothing to avoid frost bite. Trains and steamships were still quite popular than.
Sam just HAPPENS to always have some type of exclusive access to the higher ups and special service in his videos. He knows he’s being intellectually dishonest and he doesn’t care.
I unfollowed Sam Chui over a year ago. It took me awhile to figure out how inaccurate his reviews were when I compare my own experiences flying the exact same airline/class/aircraft he literally was “promoting”. You my friend tell it how it is without the “fluffy” BS and that’s all we can ever ask for 👏
Thanks for this down to earth review of the Delta flight. Looks like flying Delta during Covid is not the best. Sam Chui tends to be extra diplomatic. See no evil and hear no evil. Please keep giving honest reviews. It actually helps the airlines to look at areas of their services requiring improvement
Absolutely spot on. Don't neglect to mention that on several cross-country routes, Delta has ditched their originally assigned planes (e.g. 767-400) for one of their ancient planes. This happened to me twice this summer: BOS to SEA in July and ATL to SFO in August. Outrageous. Were we not supposed to notice? The IFE was barely operable. I'm a Platinum Medallion member, but not for much longer with their antics.
Love this video - it’s typically British because it’s honest, black and white, no bullshit, to the point with funny and comical sound clips added in for humour. I’ve just subscribed! Am looking forward to more of your content. You’re someone who “keeps it real” just like Noel Philips!
I’ve flew Delta One from North America to Asia before the pandemic and my experience was completely different. Very clean, food was good, and anything I wanted was provided. It was a genuinely great experience. I have another flight coming up soon, hopefully the quality hasn’t gone down.
@@lisam7667 Yeah it was the same for me back in October. If anything, the flight was cleaner and they were more generous with the alcohol since so few were flying then. Not sure if Asia to North America is a premier route for them so they have the best service
@@great802 it absolutely does, what else wasn’t cleaned? Delta states their planes are deep cleaned before each flight. So this is suggesting nothing was sanitised.
@@Trektrendy or it could simply mean someone inadvertently missed a spot by mistake. Not excusing it. Just don’t agree that this single instance should be the measure of the entire fleet or the experience in general. I manage people, and unfortunately, some people just suck. Doesn’t mean I don’t set high expectations or expect that they be met.
@@great802 that’s the problem with any product or service review… it’s simply not possible sample a specific product or service enough time to meet even the bare minimum of what is considered a scientific statistical survey. Consider the product service review we have here. In order for it to be scientifically accurate, I feel you would have to send a group of four independent testers on at least half a dozen flights at different times of the day and days of the week (avoiding or at the very least compensating for predictively high volume periods of the year) and then having your testers throw out the lowest and highest score. THEN you compile your review. Unfortunately people want to be entertained more than informed and this skews the sample by influencing the behavior of the passengers and through that influencing the behavior of the service or product provider. This is why restaurant critics will review a restaurant with different dining companions, have them make the reservation in their names and do all sorts of things to avoid drawing attention to himself, which is the opposite of hamming it up for the camera and making a spectacle of oneself, like a certain someone some people have mentioned.
That tray table is revolting! I’m shocked! Simply shocked! No drinks, no Diet Coke????? I just hear a very large toilet FLUSH,!!!!! First Delta outsourced maintenance, now basic service!! You are Right on the mark!
I really appreciate your calm, honest assessment of all important points in your evaluations. You point out the good and the bad without hyperbole. I feel like i can trust your assessments. I flew American business to Paris in November 2021. We returned to the states via Premium Economy. It was our first trip across the Atlantic since January 2020. We have made that journey with several different airlines. We chose AA this time because they allowed us to fly business to Europe and premium economy on return flight. Otherwise we would not have opted to give AA the money for round trip business, so we loved that option. We usually fly economy, preferring more trips per year to one expensive experience. We too were shocked by the filthof the business class area. Everyone in our cabin we talking about it while cleaning our own area. The surprising things for me were the amount of easy to vacuum up can wrappers and pieces of food in the seat and open compartments and then the amount of obviously long term grim on trays and areas people touch moving about. That grim wipped off fairly easily with wipes I brought for use while in Europe. I wonder if fhats normal for AA as the seasoned travels across the aisle came equipped to clean their area and did so as the first step in settling in for a great trip. One question for you. During the night i got up from the flatseat to make my way to the restroom. The crew had literally baracaded access to the whole area. I leaned around and asked the FA what the problem was. He said it was blocked for crew use and i should use the economy restroom. I asked him for how long since we had paid a significant amount of money for access to that restroom. He said that it would be available later in the flight. It was at some point. A few months early when my sister flew business to Greece (selecting seat near the restroom due to her frequent need ) that crew blocked the restroom area off for the entire night and where hostile when she inquired about access. What is going on? Have you seen that? Why do they map it as a passenger access if its not available during the flight. By the way after our head to head comparison, we will be flying premium economy rather than bulk head coach. That business class uograde was not worth the money. The food - meals and even in-between snacks service, the flight attendants' service and attitudes, and cabin atmosphere of Premium Economy were far superior to their business class. Thanks for your reporting
Allow me to put some perspective into this review: Delta has to manage costs because they have, unlike other US airlines, maintained an open seat between seats in Economy and First Class. So they have been the most restrictive of the three major US airlines in the context of the soft product. They are reintroducing some service to their product on May 1 as they will again start selling all the seats on the aircraft. I agree that compared to AS and B6 that DL is behind the curve on their soft product, but I defend their decision because they were able to operate far longer with far less payload that AA and UA. The criticism of the cleanliness of the aircraft, however is completely justified and I would go so far to say that you should approach Delta with a complaint because they did not, on this flight, do what they advertised. I would be curious to see how they respond to your request. The Delta hard product on the 764 and A339 is as good as any major international carrier, full stop. As we exit the pandemic, let’s see how they begin to compete with their soft product, but on balance, my experience flying Delta has been overwhelmingly been excellent (and I fly them a lot). Yes, no real soft product. Just plan for that. Address the cleanliness issue with them and tell us how they do.
How many other airlines do you fly with though? I’ve flown with Delta many times, both domestically and internationally. Their hard product is very good as you say, and is improving on most of their aircraft, especially their IFE, softer cushioned seats, and seat pitch. However their soft product and service has always been poor, compared to European and Asian mainline standards. Their meals are low standard and their FAs rarely know the meaning of good customer service.
Thank you David for giving a balanced perspective with more background information on Delta’s current business practices and soft product. This is the type of unbiased insight we need to better understand why an airlines such as Delta has slipped behind. Approaching Delta first, if there is a problem, is always best to do first if we’re looking for solutions.
Delta DOES NOT CARE! We flew first class to NY in 2018. Flight attendant kept insisting that I put my handbag in her closet...i kept telling her that it was fine in my lap. Across the aisle was an Asian couple with a toddler and they had their laps full of toys for the toddler. Flight attendant NEVER said anything to them. When we got home I emailed Delta about this. To this date I have not heard back from them. I will NEVER fly Delta again!
@@gabennett6675 Which airlines would you say is the best among the American companies. My experience with Delta was great, but things happen. Have you called them? That may get you through better than an email.
@@jakehowie442 American airline companies have an overall reputation of not being as good as the Asia-based or European companies. My Delta experience was a good one. When we had US Airways, they were okay. American was better (they took over US Airways some years back). David also mentioned that the soft product needed work. Which airlines would you say are better? Which American-based airline would you suggest flying?
Thank you for sharing. I agree companies need to quit using Covid as an excuse to give less and expect more in compensation. I will keep watching your videos before I make plans to take a flight like that in the future. -Chris
Your review of Delta is spot on. Delta One has several flavors based on the type of plane that they have installed. As far as Sam is concerned, I won't disagree with comments from this video.
I have a complete different experience, I have flight from Sacramento to Atlanta and from Atlanta to Buenos Aires. Great food, very good service, I had soft drinks, coffee, wine, champagne etc. Easy check in. Dinner and breakfast was awesome!!! I recommend Delta!
I like United’s Polaris Business class the most. No US airline truly has consistent customer service but the Polaris lounge and Polaris seats are consistently great.
@@sergiolaurencio7534 JetBlue actually usually has higher or equivalent fares than most other carriers. Low cost also doesn’t mean low fares. It means low operating costs.

Wow!!! 29 years in the sky?!? Respect!!! How times have changed. My first flight was in 1966, when airlines put mini packs of cigarettes on every seat. I remember mommies barging down the aisles, to scoop them up before their kids could. A time when it was believed that alcohol and nicotine was a big factor in allowing passengers to REMAIN CALM.
@@tamarathejudeochristianmedium , the golden age of flying! At least we lived to have that. Now, I live in Asia, and these carriers are still very nice. I wouldn't fly a US carrier, if I can help it.
I just flew Delta One from San Diego to JFK on a 757-200 and I agree with your assessment. Pros: - The comfortable seats going to flat position was wonderful. - The blanket was large and comfortable. - The remote to control the screen was very convenient. - The large screens were nice - Slightly larger tray table - The Sky Priority access saved time. - The novelty Cons: - There was a lack of space to store any carry-on luggage b/c it was not possible to put anything underneath the reclining seat and nothing else but the overhead compartments could be used. - If you didn't unpack the blanket and pillow, they just took up what little storage space you had left (under the seat in front of you). - A ticket for first class (or Delta One) didn't automatically grant access to the Delta SkyMiles club. You need to achieve a certain status in Delta's SkyMiles program, use an expensive credit card, or be flying international - and - be flying first class (or Delta One). - We only got boxed sandwiches, chips, nuts and free drinks (drink cart only came once). For the additional money, that SUCKED. - The Delta One bathroom was cramped (typical plan bathroom) just with slightly nicer lotion bottle I didn't touch after just washing my hands. - Only a small translucent window acting as a barrier between me and the person next to me (this could be a pro if you know that person). - No additional media or functionality available with the larger screen (like extra channels, video games, internet, etc.). - No free Wi-Fi (just free texting and use of a few apps that was available to everyone regardless of seating class). Conclusion: A neat experience. First class was never worth the additional money to me before these new seats. The new flat back seats make it easier to sleep, but otherwise I'd still opt for economy class since I'm only taking a plane for the purpose of reaching a far away destination faster. I suppose if I had a lot of disposable income and really needed to sleep on a long flight, I'd pay for Delta One. My tray table didn't seem dirty, but my wife always brings sanitizing wipes as we assume no one cleans anything in the travel industry. Thanks for reading this far and hope this also helped!
It seems there always is a big difference between the Delta One product on domestic vs international routes. Whenever aviation RUclipsrs review a flagship product on a domestic route, it's always much different from what I've experienced on international routes. They're usually disappointed. In the US, all domestic flights are basically a low cost soft product. The fares are highly competitive, aircraft is turned quickly, crews are tightly scheduled, etc. It doesn't matter how premium the hard product is. The domestic soft product is drastically different.
agree with you 100% ... he is nothing short of fake and staged, i was on a flight he was on one time and he was nothing short of a total pain in the arse in first class with me. The crew had to ask him to be a little more discreet on a few occasions and hew as not impressed.
Greetings from Toronto, Canada Will! Big fan of your content. Much like yourself, I too am an AV Geek and love everything about flying, the sights, sounds and everything in between! A little part of me dies when each flight comes to an end regardless of where I am seated. Content from you and other aviation vloggers keep us in touch with flying and entertained while looking forward to when we can all travel with ease again. I’d like to share my thoughts on your publicly calling out of Sam Chui in this video. In my humble opinion and very respectfully, perhaps it was not necessarily called for. Allow me to explain. As a fan of your content, I also watch Sam’s content frequently. It is important to acknowledge and appreciate the 7-figure following he has built across all his platforms. You would agree, this takes some doing! It helps to spare a thought for how he got there. Initially and perhaps to date, it could be his content editing, graphics, material, views/opinions and everything else related to aviation that he shares. Regardless of what one does for a living, we all know that as you progress and grow, you make some friends along the way (among other things too!). Clearly Sam has grown his network vastly and forged some important relationships in high places that have given him the opportunity to be a part of some quite unique experiences. Once this happens, and if this is your means of earning a living, paid endorsements and publicity opportunities will come your way and we all are aware that these come with certain strings attached whether, said or unsaid, which I think is where the discomfort arises for many and yourself. Given the space you are in along side individuals like Josh Cahill, Nonstop Dan and Sam Chui among others, I believe this is a perfectly acceptable path a platform takes to keep the creators incentivized, motivated and drive to stay the course. I truly hope a day will come when your platform too will grow from 5 to 6 to a 7-figure following and you will also be on receiving end of endorsement and publicity offers with, maybe, the same strings attached. Depending on your circumstances and progress at the time, you will accept or reject them as you should. While I completely respect and appreciate the candor in your content and your desire to have that shared by all creators, it could be a challenge given that every experience is different considering the various moving pieces involving the aircraft, equipment, crew, cleaning schedules and other human factors that culminate into a particular experience at a given time. I hope you will agree that no two experiences can be identical in this space. Hence, I feel that Sam does not necessarily need to own the fact that he has some excellent relationships with airlines and other parties in the aviation space in general. Those who understand this space well, know that it’s completely normal and a natural trajectory to take if one chooses so. I am open to being wrong here. Whether in our personal or professional lives, I am a firm believer in having a worthy rival. Their strengths help reveal our weaknesses which can make us feel insecure. As humans, it is ridiculously easy to channel that negative energy against them to make ourselves feel better. Rest assured, I am treading very carefully here and not insinuating even the slightest, given my respect for all content creators, but simply sharing my own views based on my own life experiences. My apologies, this opinion piece is lengthy, but it felt right to share. I remain a very loyal fan of yours and Sam and everyone else in this space. You all make sacrifices and work tirelessly to give us content that helps us get through our days especially now, when we all could use a ‘pick me up’ given the state the world is in. I wish you all the very best and continue to eagerly look forward to all the content that you create!
What a great comment. You won't get much grace in these comments as it appears most are Sam Chui slaters. He isn't perfect, but this video shows that neither is TT and I'm really surprised he called him out in a flawed video. He is better than this
Admiration!, for you very well written comment and the Ideas. I agree with you but more important than that, I enjoy reading smart people like yourself. Thanks
I found out the issue on the Coke can product situation just now when I changed tix with the help of a delta rep. There is a shortage of aluminum cans! Delta and Coke are old Biz partners with a contractual deal and can’t carry Pepsi products. So, for now, buy a plastic bottled item at the airport shop after the TSA checkpoint to carry with you.
Thank you! I am in hospitality and there are constant shortages of different products. People leave reviews, write blogs, etc., yet this is rarely acknowledged. Even if you tell them, they ignore it, as they want to think things are 'back to normal'. And labor shortages, at every stage of the supply chain. Zero doubt Delta is short cleaning staff...
I would believe the argument that there’s an aluminum can shortage for the reason why Delta doesn’t serve soda except the fact that they carry beer in aluminum cans on the same flights.
Don't bother with Delta AT ALL!! In 2015 I was flying (first class - a splurge using points) from SEA to Key West. Nowhere during the reservation process nor on the website, nor in my printed materials or ticket did it say you could only bring one bag. Turns out that was a rule due to the limited runway on Key West. Fine, but you need to put that in the contract. The jackass check in agent, and I sure wish I could remember his name and publish it here, refused to let me check both bags. There was no time to go home and return. And I would have insisted on getting my money back and made other arrangements, but I was meeting a family member in Key West who was flying in from another city. When I took out my phone to record this fiasco the jack ass agent left and didn't return. Had to abandon a brand new Samsonite hard shell carry on suitcase on the floor of SeaTac airport. Vowed I would never fly Delta again and I haven't! And I never will! Couldn't be happier!
I have flown first and business on multiple airlines and I always keep some anti-bacterial wipes to wipe down my seat before I sit. Airlines might have a procedure in place but not every employee cares about that procedure.
I can't believe you called out my hero, Sam Chui... only joking. That was an unacceptable soft product! As for the cleanliness... well that was appalling! Your reviews are always so authentic and honest! Cheers
Thanks for a honest review. Sam Chui's reviews are fake - he is basically a PR person for the airlines. As a top frequent flyer, I've never seen anything close to what he shows in his videos, even to those of us very frequent flyers for the airline. Delta barely clean their planes - I think the most they cleaned is when they shot those cleaning videos and this is coming from me as a Delta DM frequent flyer. I always do my own wipe down on long flights and you'd be surprise how dirty the wipes look afterwards. If airlines like Delta want to recover then serve some decent food onboard and make the experience acceptable, especially given how difficult it is to get food in the concourse these days...
Just flew Delta One from BOS to AMS on one of their A330-900neo planes, and it seems full service has returned. I never flew Delta One pre-pandemic, so I’m not familiar with the level of service that was offered in Delta One pre-pandemic, but it felt like full service to me. While my experience was far better than this one, it was what Sam Chui hyped it up to be. I dont know when Delta returned to full service, but I also flew First Class from ATL to GUA in June 2022, and was served 2 larger snacks and a meal, as well as all beverages included, so service seems to have returned to normal.
Well done for sticking up for us often downtrodden airline passengers.. so many massive corporations treat their customers little better than necessary nuisances .... keep up the good work there ..🙏
wow, its totally unacceptable for Delta to not clean their planes properly but then go and pay someone like Chui to lie on their behalf. thanks for the honest review matey! at least we know we can trust you!
Thanks for watching Linz. It's an interesting one to fly onboard a product he literally reviewed three weeks prior and have such a different experience. Glad you enjoyed, lots more coming up from my US trip :)
Definitely enjoying the content mate…I’m a new subscriber…a Brit living in south Florida last 30yrs…I’m glad of our “Blunt Brit” style of reviews….definitely loved the Perth-Sydney train video….I’m hooked Will
Yeah, I love Delta, but flying their DeltaOne and First Class lately, which I’ve done quite a number of times in the past few months for work, has been a disappointment. Dirty tray tables and the pathetic food offerings are my top two complaints as well. However I do appreciate the great service provided by their very competent FAs, and was glad to see full alcohol service return to First Class.
That's what makes NO sense. You can currently get a beer, but not a soda. This whole snack box and snack bag thing is 100% cost cutting. It has ZERO to do with "safety".
Delta is usually very clean. I have never had a messy experience when i've flown delta one. However, economy is a whole different story. They are doing the meals like that because of covid. But considering the price you pay when purchasing a delta one suite, they could certainly do better.
A bad actor who is creepy with the female attendants. I’ll never forget that Etihad video where he commented on the woman’s weight and she was visibly uncomfortable. Stopped watching him ever since.
@@nickwoo3034 within the review / frequent flyer community he is widely regarded as disrespectful towards cabin crew, self important and never discloses his relationships with airlines. I’ve only brought this to wider attention which clearly has been echoed by many others especially looking at the comments section here. You have to remember Nick many will base their premium travel purchase decisions off reviews on RUclips, and if they’re not showing the full picture - it’s misleading and effectively wastes the money of hard working individuals.
Thats fair enough Will. Was just a little surprised at this kind of video from you thats all. I respect your opinion. Thanks for the explanation/comment.
Well done on the review. I’ve flown this very product to Paris and back on the retired 777 that had just been retrofit. This is February 2020 right before covid. The food was waaaay better for what it’s worth. I think a lot of airlines are actively cutting corners with that stuff. And I agree that seat belt is the work of the devil.
I'm not sure wht you were told that delta doesn't serve soft drinks. I used delta and flew first class. Soft drinks, assuming you are referring to a coke or spirit, were offered. And I agree, the food selection was HORRIBLE. In my box, there was food that didn't go together. Like crackers and gummy worms. I was so confused. Lol
The snack boxes are ridiculous, I agree. But Delta always serves soft drinks and some other beverages (like juices), along with the modest alcoholic offerings.
It has been changing over time during COVID. There was a period they offered no soft drinks even in first class, and a period where they had them in first class but not for the rest. They haven’t been great about communicating what will be offered when.
Only ever flew with them once and that was enough. I still remember them heating my main meal, including the butter and the salad, then they were offended that I dared asked for non microwaved butter.
I flew Delta a few years back and told myself never, ever again. Rudest flight attendants I’ve ever encountered. Also had tiny, cramped seats. I’m a huge fan of Jet Blue for domestic and Caribbean flights. So excited to see they’re starting to fly to the UK now too! I honestly don’t know how Delta stays in business. I can’t believe they refused to serve you a soft drink!!! So bad.
"I honestly don't know how Delta stays in business". Because pre-pandemic, Delta was blowing the competition out of the water with operational numbers. (On time, fewest cancellations, fewest mis-handled bags, and the most days of operating 100% of their flights in a year, in the history of aviation. In addition, Delta and it's employees donate thousands of hours of personal time to their communities with things like American Red Cross blood drives, Habitat for Humanity, One Warm Coat, Refurbish and donate wheelchairs, etc, etc. As a company, they donate millions of dollars to everything from Breast Cancer Research, Juvenile Diabetes, American Heart Assn, and the list goes on...Sorry about your "cramped seat"!
Good Video! I flew delta from Atlanta to Madrid and was disappointed. It was a 767-300 with the old outdated business class. The meals were not very good and wound up giving me food poisoning and the seat simply was old and uncomfortable. For 700 dollars is really expect a bit more from the flight, KLM is miles ahead of delta in business class!
I have had the same experience with Delta's cleanliness. The last 4 planes I was on had dirty trays and pockets. When I wiped them off, the wipe was brown. No cleaning appeared to be done for quite some time.
Was nice to come across this video as I was wondering what this product was like, haven’t flown on Delta in many years. The 767’s are aging so not very surprised about seeing certain cosmetic issues. The food service during this pandemic has left a lot to be desired on pretty much all carriers, but Delta seemed to have cut the most. Hopefully that will be able to change soon. As someone that’s just beginning in this travel review sector, I have to say you do a great job of it and come off very honest of the products being reviewed.
3:22 I also once flew United Polaris in seat 2A and the crew rest was right on front of me HOWEVER they had a special closet where the curtain went into, so when it wasn’t in use, you could not see it
I work for another airline… a lot of this is what we have all been reduced to because of the pandemic. At our airline, we outsource the cleaning services. They are not always the best. I still think delta does well.
Great video, love the edits haha. You are right about Chui, dishonest hack- if I want to watch a advertisement for the airline, ill go to the airline directly instead Chui masquerading as a reviewer.
Wow. I just did this flight on AA 777 first class and it was great. Hot food, whatever drinks I wanted. Snacks. Now I don’t feel like Im missing out with Delta.
I agree with you! Sam Chui doesn’t seem to review genuinely. Noel Phillips is boring. ❤️ Kara & Nate but running repeats. You seem down to Earth & capture every noon & cranny of a review! Glad I discovered you!
I remember, just before Covid hit (~1 week), flying out to Seattle from Orlando on Delta First Class and receiving hot meals, orange juice, and alcohol. I flew back to Orlando a week or two later, paid for first class tickets (pre-covid ticket prices) to make the same trip a month later (moving my family up for a job), and then getting a starkly different experience. Bullsh$t box lunches, no alcohol, etc.. While these are certainly "first world problems", those were my first 2 times ever paying for a first class ticket. I was pretty disappointed. Won't fly Delta first class again.
was wondering if you could do a review on HPN (Westchester Airport) wether it’s planes, staff or even the experience. Maybe even physical airports in general?

My first thought too, buddy

LOL

@@great802 that’s the problem with any product or service review… it’s simply not possible sample a specific product or service enough time to meet even the bare minimum of what is considered a scientific statistical survey.

-Chris
Thanks so much for watching Chris. Glad it’s useful. Hopefully Delta will improve in due course. Safe future travels - Will
That food made me irrationally angry for a fleeting second. Thank you. Imagine paying premium prices for a budget airline. THAT is Delta. haha
I unsubbed to Chui a long time ago when i noticed that everything he posted seemed fake and staged.

Nah Noel Philips and Paul Lucas are the most genuine
Josh Cahill is on the way to follow Sam Chui regarding entitlements. My favorite beside Paul Lucas is Dennis Bunnik.

I’m a retired Flight Attendant (29 years) and I keep watching things like this. Can’t let go? Glutton for punishment? 🤣
@@markcollins2666I remember that too, such a different experience! Also, the seats and the aisles were so big! 💺

I just flew Delta One from San Diego to JFK on a 757-200 and I agree with your assessment.
Pros:
- The comfortable seats going to flat position was wonderful.
- The blanket was large and comfortable.
- The remote to control the screen was very convenient.
- The large screens were nice
- Slightly larger tray table
- The Sky Priority access saved time.
- The novelty
Cons:
- There was a lack of space to store any carry-on luggage b/c it was not possible to put anything underneath the reclining seat and nothing else but the overhead compartments could be used.
Conclusion:
A neat experience.
The crew had to ask him to be a little more discreet on a few occasions and hew as not impressed.
sounds like he feels entitled! I bet he feels like he is airline royalty. LOL
Congrats on a MILLION VIEW Will!! Massive achievement- keep going
Zero doubt Delta is short cleaning staff...
;Everywhere, hotels, hospitals etc. will carry only one or the other either Coke or only Pepsi products
Hmmmmm. Every grocery store and convienence store near me is fully stocked and has been. Shortage? I don't believe that-
I would believe the argument that there’s an aluminum can shortage for the reason why Delta doesn’t serve soda except the fact that they carry beer in aluminum cans on the same flights.
@@StripesofValor Exactly. They can charge $$ for that. 😉
Sam Chui gave five stars to almost all the Airlines, so that he gets first class treatment.
This is true! I have not seen a bad review from Sam. I stop watching that guy because he seems bias.
I understand why he does it but only he gets their First Class service, no one ☝️ else 😢
I have flown first and business on multiple airlines and I always keep some anti-bacterial wipes to wipe down my seat before I sit. Airlines might have a procedure in place but not every employee cares about that procedure.
As a cabin agent this is correct 100%, some people are just lazy which sucks cause it brings everyone down.
I'd like to know where you got a 400 dollar flight from coast to coast in that exclusive little room. Coach costs over 400...

I have had the same experience with Delta's cleanliness. The last 4 planes I was on had dirty trays and pockets. When I wiped them off, the wipe was brown. No cleaning appeared to be done for quite some time.
Have you flowed Jetblue?
Was nice to come across this video as I was wondering what this product was like, haven’t flown on Delta in many years. The 767’s are aging so not very surprised about seeing certain cosmetic issues. The food service during this pandemic has left a lot to be desired on pretty much all carriers, but Delta seemed to have cut the most. Hopefully that will be able to change soon. As someone that’s just beginning in this travel review sector, I have to say you do a great job of it and come off very honest of the products being reviewed.

I work for another airline… a lot of this is what we have all been reduced to because of the pandemic. At our airline, we outsource the cleaning services. They are not always the best. I still think delta does well.
It was reduced, but they still charge you as before... Outsourcing, ok, but why do you advertise it as you did it on your own, and carefully?
There's that word again "outsourcing"

I remember, just before Covid hit (~1 week), flying out to Seattle from Orlando on Delta First Class and receiving hot meals, orange juice, and alcohol. I flew back to Orlando a week or two later, paid for first class tickets (pre-covid ticket prices) to make the same trip a month later (moving my family up for a job), and then getting a starkly different experience. Bullsh$t box lunches, no alcohol, etc.. While these are certainly "first world problems", those were my first 2 times ever paying for a first class ticket. I was pretty disappointed. Won't fly Delta first class again.
