    Hasbro can't use the Countach design without a licence; 4th party obviously don't worry about such things.
    BTW, you should get that 4th Party DNK-38 upgrade set for Menasor.

    With Tigerwing, at least you can do Menasor correctly by putting the alternate parts on which you didn't do. However, Tigerwing is a KO of Magic Square and would be great if MS would re-relesae theirs, perhaps even at this bigger scale.

    🤖 I’ve owned my Tigerwing (ridiculous name btw) for over a year now and it took your review to remind me of the tolerance issue. I’m a tinkerer so I addressed them immediately with my super glue solution. It must be said though that I only go hard on modifications when I feel the figure is worth it, which I deemed these so right out of the box. They are gorgeous individually and combined in ANY of their various combinations. Incredibly versatile. Motormaster is the obvious standout with his articulation. All praise aside, I must concede to your assessment: Hasbro is solid, MHZ…less so. (Lol)
    I’m a mainline and masterpiece collector. The one reason I continue to buy Hasbro even though I absolutely love MP more is simply its durability. Being built for kids gives it the approachability and dependability few 3rd party developers can boast.
    -Any Hasbro product falls off my shelf, I’ll get it in the morning.
    -Any MP takes a dive, {(-_-)}...sigh, let’s see what broke.
    👍🏿Thanx for the comparison. Great vid.

      I really will not hate on the set. The individual designs I love. I tightened the joints some what but looking at my current shelf I went back to the Hasbro version. Buuut, if they hit just the right scale with these 4th party upscale sets, it could be an alternative and get Hasbro to let the designers do better.

    Sucks you had issues with your MHZ Tigerwing. I didn't have any with my set. Got mine at release when it was rebadged as MHZ, so I have had it for a couple years now and its all still nice and tight/solid. It's possible the molds they are using to produce it still are worn and suffering mold degradation now, since they were also used prior to do the BW release. They did crank a ton of them out, basically under two different brands. I do the arms like the cartoon where the cars are one part hanging off the arms. I basically use the Tigerwing as my Menasor on a shelf, and the Legacy set as individual bots.

    • @superroboted
      @superroboted  2 месяца назад

      Yeah I'm not mad about the part because this is *4th party* so it's a KO. I know about the first version but I'm not a fan of the Menasor mode than I am of the individual bots which look much better than Hasbro and clean up well. I wanted to replace legacy...so I thought but legacy just works for me, though Hasbro could have done better.

    If only 3rd party legends have the balls to upscale the figures to chug scale.
    But Hasbro is watching 👀
    Magicsquare upscale their legends optimus prime to masterpiece scale. But they don't dare to do chug scale for the same reasons.
    Hasbro is watching 👀
    If 3rd party do chug scale. Nobody will buy Hasbro transformers anymore.
    Great review

    • @superroboted
      @superroboted  2 месяца назад

      Hasbro never stopped 3rd party companies from making toys. Simply put, Hasbro is the brand...and people know that. The reason 3rd party will not touch mainline is it's a wasted effort. This all started at the height of Titans Return, and going into Power of The Primes, a inferior as the Hasbro versions were, they will out sell the #rd Party versions because of price and name recognition. 3rd party had better designs but most collectors want the official version. Also during 2015 - 2018 many 3rd party mainline sized figures got sold off to be replaced by Hasbro versions. Also many of these 3rd Party companies are people that work in the factories so they know sometimes years in advance the future designs, and once Hasbro started with Siege and borrowing engineering techniques from 3rd party figures, it was a wrap. yes than can fill the void with MP because there are so many figures Takara hasn't made in the line. legends scale is new, and probably now the bread N butter of 3rd Party because Hasbro doesn't really flesh out the line with Legend class figures, but if they did, well it would again be a wrap. Hasbro never had the true right to sue 3rd Party, so it's not a Hasbro is watching thing, it's Hasbro is still gonna outsell thing.

    Interesting comparison. Robot modes, and vehicle modes are significantly better on the fourth party, but I feel the Hasbro release is more of a joint effort than individual toy effort. Outside of Breakdown being repainted Wildrider they all combine to make a substantial, and Menasor with great articulation and stability. On the subject of Motormaster I personally think he's one of the weaker Commanders. The truck mode/robot feels cheap, and doesn't hold well together, and the trailer just looks ridiculous. The entire budget of this guy was put into the combined mode and it shows in how durable, and high quality the trailer as a whole feels when fully combined. Think I transformed him into Menasor once and haven't felt the need to break him down. That and I'm still waiting on Breakdown, and Wildrider to complete him. Only thing that would have improved Menasor at this price point (outside of a better Motormaster) would have been a larger secondary sword, and proper rifle though the blaster serves okay as a double barrel shotgun if you use your imagination. Really hope Hasbro can do a lot better with 86 Devastator. Releasing two at one at a Commander price point and the rest as reportedly voyagers is an interesting strategy

    • @superroboted
      @superroboted  2 месяца назад

      SS'86 Devy will be broken down probably with two figures, and the help me parts to go with it. Overall I don't hate Legacy Mensaor, for what it does, it does it well and much better than the CW/UW version with upgrades. The sculpt is still a strange one, but I agree it's solid and well put together overall, and that's all I can ask for.

  • @OptimusPrimeOfLife

    From reviews ive seen even the magic square version has issues with pieces of cars coming off of it sometimes. I would say their version of menasor is not their best combiner. I saw this on their website but wasn't interested in it because it doesn't scale with magic square or mainline. But the separate robot modes do look good

  • @sixtoreyes93
    @sixtoreyes93 2 месяца назад +1

    I sold my Menasor almost a week or month after having it because I felt that I shouldn't by something I wasn't satisfied with. Hasbro didn't gave me a correct set of stunticons. Not accurate at all...plus seeing other sets like this made me feel Hasbro didn't made an effort having all this pieces already out. I'm just gonna wait for Devastator and I hope because it's a SS86 that's gonna be good. I appreciate the Menasor though. Quality and paint is better on Hasbro but not accuracy. Hasbro makes some things difficult having already third party models.

    • @superroboted
      @superroboted  2 месяца назад

      I honestly think Hasbro will never get the Stunticons right. CW/UW despite UW still had that wacky Motormaster formation that I hate. The Legacy version is better, but it needs more. However since this will probably never go back to the drawing board I'm going to keep it. I wanted the Tigerwing version to be better but I don't want to lose any more parts, or have parts missing just sitting on the shelf. At least with Legacy Menasor I can set it and forget it. We just need a decent 4th party company to upscale these 3rd party legends figures close to mainline, and that may get Hasbro to do better.

    I agree that the official Breakdown sucks due to its car mode; they should have called the official Legacy Breakdown as BLOW and not the 4th party KO version 😆
    Aside from the QC issues with that KO, they should definitely have upscaled it a bit more to have any competitive chance with the official Legacy version.
