If they go this route with other combiners, I’m gonna be collecting for a lot longer. I so badly want a modern-engineered Bruticus. Maybe even with voyagers for the limbs.
While I like Legacy Menasor, I think it’d be a bad idea to rely on this system for the figures whose design doesn’t naturally invite it. I’d rather they mix it up by doing like a leader Onslaught (that does the torso and thighs/knees), voyager Vortex and Blast off (to accommodate for having the combiner articulation natively built in), and a deluxe Swindle and Brawl.
I can see why Motormaster would be viewed as Prime's arch-nemesis but I always really liked the idea of them being road rivals wherein Motormaster completely misses the purpose of actually taking down Optimus. He doesn't care about leading any of the two factions. He just wants to be the best on the road lol. He's so perfect for that and I love that they stuck to it. Truly a madlad mental case with no awareness for war.
Megatron: MotorMaster, destroy Prime! MotorMaster: Why should I care about that boy scout? He's your problem! Megatron: Uhh...he's driving on your favourite road! And said your tires are puny! MotorMaster: LET ME AT 'IM!
I think if they would have thought about Motomaster first. He would have been Optimus Prime's arch-nemesis. But they put a Semi Diesel truck up against a Luger P08 🤔
The Stunticons were one of my first loves after watching the G1 series as a kid. This legacy Menasor and Stunticon set captures that imagination I had as a kid watching him on the show. I'm with you 100%, I think this might be one of the best figures we've gotten in 10 years, and one of the best combiners we've ever gotten. They somehow managed to meet all 3 criteria. 1) Show accuracy 2) articulation 3) sturdiness. The Combiner Wars line had some fantastic combiner teams, but they were SO flimsy, and some had downright bad show accuracy. I've been a Transformers fan since 2001 RID, and while we have had many combiners, they were always awkward, flimsy, or bricks. This Menasor figure manages to exceed all expectations, and it secretly makes me wish we get this treatment with everyone. I would kill for a show accurate Bruticus and Defensor.
I like the fact you actually need Motormaster to complete to chest, because on some 3rd party figures Motormaster just becomes a giant backpack for the combiner mode.
The economy is really bad right now, but I got to have this piece of history. Growing up in the 80s-90s, my Dad bought me (now) vintage transformer toys which I misplaced and lost for good. Buying toys today is not to play but for the memories I lost along the way. I still have combiner wars motormaster, but man, the legacy version makes it looks like it came from the 60s.
I used to be a roadie who worked for local and international bands in Sydney, Australia. I came up with the phrase "Rinse and Repeat" one day at work, because work was just like that. You set up something, then you set up 19 more of just the same. So I started saying "Rinse and Repeat" at work flat out, and it caught on... One of the American tech crews must have picked it up and taken it back home and started saying it in America, and here we are 20 years later I'm hearing it in a toy review! Kinda wishing I hadn't of done that! LOL
The engineering and detail for this version of Menasor is insane! I really hope we get to see a Superion later down the line. He's my favorite combiner.
I think if we ever get more Combiners in Legacy itll be the Aerialbots, especially since them and the Stunticons are natural compliments to each other (and the Autobots will need a Combiner themselves to deal with Menasor anyways lol)
For sure a step-up from Combiner Wars with the built-in hands and feet. This will probably be the most G1-accurate Stunticon team that Hasbro will ever release. I'm going to save my money for a Bruticus equivalent, hopefully... I doubt they will be revisiting Devastator anytime soon.
I don't feel like it counts to call these "built in hands and feet" when all they did is make the entire limbs into partsforming attachments that the other stunticons just peg onto in car mode.
The reason there is a break in the purple stripe on the trailer because both the original toy and the cartoon had that break. It has nothing to do with engineering or budget, it is both toon and toy accurate.

They need to stick with the same size for Combiners. Personally, I would want the leaders to be Leader class and the other bots to be Voyagers, not deluxes, so they can be bigger than what we got for Combiner Wars.
I think we can turn his legs around so the cars will be facing forward so to better match his G1 toy, but will rob him of his knee articulation. Well they chose to go with animation accuracy here
Ah-ha those tiny mass-shifted wheels on the feet are adorable! I just hope all that grey plastic isn't going to discolor like some other recent TFs have.

Robot mode looks brilliant, proportions and colour scheme is super. Can understand the stumpy size to trailer but wish it was longer. Menasor looks ace so far
Agree, the trailer proportions are way off (and same applies to primes trailer).. At least with prime there is an easy fix... Just get yourself a G1 trailer... But no such easy fix for motormaster
The figure looks amazing. I just wish that the combined form really NEEEDED the others more than it does as they just look like detailing instead of actual arms and legs. It's not bad, I just wish it was better.

Got to say this is the best combiner Hasbro has done in the mainline. I would 'love' to see one of the Autobot teams get this treatment. My money is on the Protectobots.
Being the same height as Jetfire makes Menasor look too short or conversely Jetfire too tall. Regardless of size, it is leaps and bounds above the Combiner Wars version.
@@vision4860 I think it’s funny, 5 bots and a trailer, are the same size as 1 single Jetfire. @@CryosisOfficial Well, yeah this version of Menasor is not a traditional combiner, but the fact that the trailer is the exoskeleton and is heavily inspired by the G1 cartoon model is impressive. Hasbro and Takara went all out with Motormaster, and the end result looks amazing.
I can’t wait to get the entire set of Stunticons! I love Dragstrip and Motormaster. I’m a little biased towards Wild Rider. I’m excited to see Breakdown and Deadend!
Really excited for this figure, and any other combiners coming soon. Part of me thinks they could do the same thing with Onslaught, having the cab as the robot and half of the anti aircraft trailer as the skeleton. Maybe they could do the same thing with Hotspot, but idk how they would do Silverbolt. 1:10 Actually I checked the animation model and the broken up strip is indeed cartoon accurate, as well as accurate to the 1986 toy. However I'm sure Toyhax will fix that if it bothers you. :) Is Wildrider compatible with the arms or only the legs?
Eh, the reason Menasor is like this is because he already had those sort of skeleton like arms and legs that the other Stunticons attached to in the G1 show. A new Onslaught can definitely form the upper body and waist of a new Bruticus, but given the more thicker and bulkier sizes of the other Combaticons, I think Hasbro can get actual joints into the separate figures rather than doing another skeleton like they did here. They’ve definitely evolved some of their engineering since Combiner Wars.
when i heared that someone in good ol Australia managed to get one super early, while pre orders state its arrival at Feb next year, i managed to find a video of the guy reviewing it, credit to him he did a good job, but now seeing a review in a higher recorded quality makes me want this even more
At first i was not planning to get this guy, but i saw PvP review, MAN this looks awesome!!! Totally getting this guy, PvP vids never disappoint me at ALL. 👍🏻 Thumbs up for this vid.
Man they really went all out on this one. I personally don't like menasor being just big motormaster with the stunticons taped on, but the engineering in this one is just so clever
Best combiner ever!!!! Also you are the best transformers toy reviewer ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad they started the whole Legacy combiner thing with Menasor. With some aftermarket feet and hand upgrades, most all of the CW combiners were decent EXCEPT for Menasor. He got the short end of the stick.
The mechanisms in the arms are ingenious, on a similar level to the way Earth Wars Ultra Magnus has a part on his back that slides along a track and completely transfers from one part of the toy to another. Overall this toy looks great and works as a kind of playset. Heck you could even regard him as a robot with his own exoskeleton, a-la Powermaster Prime, and never even buy the other team members. I personally dislike the 'mass shifting' feet, but it looks like you don't really have to deploy them if you don't want to. Also, I dislike the cartoon accurate hiding of two Stunticons at the back of Menasor's legs, so wonder if they could be switched around.
I think we can turn his legs around so the cars will be facing forward so to better match his G1 toy, but will rob him of his knee articulation. Well they chose to go with animation accuracy here
My first combiner was UW Devastator so that is my yardstick. When I got CW Bruticus from eBay and I assumed all of the combiners scale with each other. I was incredibly disappointed with the size of CW Bruticus and I was hoping for another combiner to come along and scale with Devastator. I am getting Menasaur however. What I am hoping to see from third party upgrades are; - Articulated hands - Bigger combiner sword - Maybe a bit of a lift for some height
I jsut got mine pre-ordered today, finally came in stock on Amazon for MSRP. I was already excited, btu seeing this review made my excitement go from standard to as hyped as I am for my 3P windblade coming out later this month. I can't wait until it coems in and then we get the rest of the team.
A lot of good here, but the minor bots just feel like decoration so i'd like to see them to be more involved structurally, but i really really REALLY love the "auto transform" bit that happens when you add them on. Step forward, but not a journey complete, but an adventure i'm excited for.
They've always been just decoration in the cartoon. This figure has outdone all of the combiners to date with the exception of the ocular max version of bruticus.
I’m so glad that I preordered this guy, cause holy crap he looks phenomenal!!!! I can’t wait to get him and the other stunticons! Fantastic review as always PvP!
While I will get him I think hasbro is cutting corners by just providing a skeleton that you attach the figures to. I don't like that the legs are mostly hidden and just one colour while the cars are invisible from the front so you can't see them. It's just not what I think of as a gestalt. Each bot should be a limb, not just be an attachment to a skeleton structure. I still think Combiner Wars Predaking and Devastator are better.
So, we got a combiner the same size of a CW figure, but for more than twice the price? This guy alone cost more than what a full CW set was going for. And for what? Cheap plastic with ripples and waves all over the place, plastic that is clearly supposed to be uniform in color but has tint variation, and worst of all, a very bad paint job ( 1:13 there are chips in the purple paint, and it's bleeding over the grey plastic. 1:15 grey metallic paint over the black tire. 2:33 scratches in the purple windows and chips on the bumper paint. 3:01 unpainted part that should be black. 6:26 white paint bleeding on the arm. 7:51 chips in the window of the "false cab". 9:05 very thin layer of white paint on the left arm with some spots missing, chips on the purple of the chest. 31:57 chips on the shoulder part that has the combiner port, etc.). You also have parts that dont hold together well (1:46), ratchet joints that limit posability, combiner ports that dont peg well, and the the whole trailer is just a huge blob of parts forming. The hands are also just one big plastic piece and cant open/close like the CW ones. I'm sorry, but at that price, we should be getting something similar to CW devastator in term of size and overall quality. The plastic and paint quality on this guy is worst than any CW combiner i've seen. Ppl are really excited about this?
Over analyzing/nitpicking things a regular customer wouldn’t even notice you may not like it but plenty of people do there hasn’t been one bad review from it and have you even touch a cw/potp combiner their last menasor was barely stable couldn’t even hold up a proper pose or look good without upgrade here you have a g1 accurate and stable menasor if your gonna nitpick this much get a 3rd party menasor leaves more for us
@@tfsomegaguy6203 So, you are ok paying over 250$ for a figure that should be selling for half that price? For me, these arent small details. The plastic ripples/waves are everywhere. At that price i'm expecting top quality. We are talking "KO level" of plastic and paint job quality here. They basically more than doubled the price and halved the quality. CW devastator was selling for less than that. It's almost twice the size, the plastic has no waves/ripples, and the paint job is pristine. Also at that price, they are not targeting "regular customer". This was 100% made to ripoff collectors. And most of us do notice.
@@thormind7338 it’s not 250$ it’s 180$ 90 dollars actually if you don’t get the stunticons and get the shells instead the only issue that I would notice if I had this in hand is the trailer wheels i dont feel ripped off after getting dragstrip it’s a good figure in hand so must the other stunticons mainline has never been perfect I don’t expect it to since a lot of mainline collectors standards aren’t really high as long as it’s stable looks like the g1 cartoon I’m good.
Third Parties: We’ve been making Menasors/Stunticons for years now. Hasbro is gonna copy our engineering techniques. Hasbro: No, we’d been doing this for nearly 4 decades. I’ma gonna ruin their whole careers!
one thing I like about this is that you can still "combine" them, as each section meant for a single stunticons is a separate Menasor piece. You can connect Menasor to the torso and upper leg sections, DragStrip and DeadEnd to the arms and BreakDown WildRider first and then combine them all after that.
Ngl I kinda think it’s a bit cheap (no pun intended) to sell Motermaster with the trailer. I would have much preferred that each Stunticon come with a different trailer part, being their respective limbs, and then have the chest either come with Motermaster himself or maybe a new 6th member who becomes a weapon. This way, they release MM first, and use him as almost a tracker, so that the final product feels much more… satisfying!
I think we can turn his legs around so the cars will be facing forward so to better match his G1 toy, but will rob him of his knee articulation. Well they chose to go with animation accuracy here
While I think this motormaster is MILES better than combiner wars, I still wish he could still use combiner wars arms. Seeing him being able to use combiner wars legs just makes me wanna see him have access to both.
i cant wait for him to come out!!! Hey primevsprime you ever gonna do a collection review showing how you display all your transformers? you have so many i wanna see your massive collection all together.
This guy brought up a LOT of stuff about "this isn't animation accurate" To me, it envokes the feeling of the character and that's the mark of a good transformer.
Honestly the trailer for Motor master, looks cool because of the hinges and other "kibble" it makes it look futuristic like it about ready to open and show multiple weapons and compartments.
I know that I may be the only one thinking this way, but I don't consider this Menasor a combiner. You can clearly have Menasor without the other figures. A combiner is multiple characters combining to make a new robot. Menasor don't need the others. The others are just armor. They don't combine to make nothing new. It kind of reminds me of the Power Rangers Dino Fury Megazord. I was excited to get the set, but when I got it in hand, I realized that the other zords, other than red, are useless. The others are just armor, they're basically clothing for the maiden character. The more I see, the more I unexcited I get about this set. But that may just be me.
I wonder if HASBO can give this same treatment to the Arialbots. By making Silverbolt a Drone-like jet that nestles into a larger craft like Starsaber...
I think we can turn his legs around so the cars will be facing forward so to better match his G1 toy, but will rob him of his knee articulation. Well they chose to go with animation accuracy here

Is Wildrider compatible with the arms or only the legs?
Eh, the reason Menasor is like this is because he already had those sort of skeleton like arms and legs that the other Stunticons attached to in the G1 show.
A new Onslaught can definitely form the upper body and waist of a new Bruticus, but given the more thicker and bulkier sizes of the other Combaticons, I think Hasbro can get actual joints into the separate figures rather than doing another skeleton like they did here. They’ve definitely evolved some of their engineering since Combiner Wars.
Wildrider is only the leg
Yeahhhh no, having the combiner as a separate piece that the bots slap on to seems really cheap and lazy to me
maybe silver bolt could have an aircraft carrier inspired landing pad thing?
@@darcepower5023 actually that's not a half bad idea, I like that. Maybe it could work with a Broadside figure too?
I wish they do the same duality product for Superion...
I'm glad Motermaster becomes an integral part of the combined mode, instead of being shoved in the back
Amazing what an actual design budget can accomplish
when i heared that someone in good ol Australia managed to get one super early, while pre orders state its arrival at Feb next year, i managed to find a video of the guy reviewing it, credit to him he did a good job, but now seeing a review in a higher recorded quality makes me want this even more
the target man is in the backroom right now finding Motormaster for me, so excited!!
The fact that you don´t really need the other characters to have the big guy, the other characters just, fill, which I love
I’ve watched other reviews but I was waiting so long for a review on this channel
At first i was not planning to get this guy, but i saw PvP review, MAN this looks awesome!!! Totally getting this guy, PvP vids never disappoint me at ALL. 👍🏻 Thumbs up for this vid.
That cab gives me mp-ish vibe. Good one from hastak
Looks like the King of the Road has made his debut!
I can’t wait for this figure looks amazing
Menasor is freaking awesome!! Hopefully we get the Bruticus, Superion, and Devastator
Finally a decent First party combiner!
Man they really went all out on this one. I personally don't like menasor being just big motormaster with the stunticons taped on, but the engineering in this one is just so clever
Well technically, that's really all menasor ever has been
@@blankstare3775 not at all, menasor wasn't even a combiner once
Best combiner ever!!!! Also you are the best transformers toy reviewer ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much!
The sword can tab into the purple panel on the back of combiner torso in trailer mode to be stored securely.
I never liked any other Stunticons, but THIS is killer. Definitely having him in my collection.
Amazing. Figure exited to get it! I don't like how the bots who go on the leg are on the back.... I would rather them be on the front.
I knew I wasn't the only one who thought this
I think we can turn his legs around so the cars will be facing forward so to better match his G1 toy, but will rob him of his knee articulation. Well they chose to go with animation accuracy here
This goes to show that they are paying attention and learning and improving 👌
I love mortermaster so much in his robot mode and he is my favorite stuntercon
My first combiner was UW Devastator so that is my yardstick. When I got CW Bruticus from eBay and I assumed all of the combiners scale with each other. I was incredibly disappointed with the size of CW Bruticus and I was hoping for another combiner to come along and scale with Devastator.
I am getting Menasaur however. What I am hoping to see from third party upgrades are;
- Articulated hands
- Bigger combiner sword
- Maybe a bit of a lift for some height
DNA: Yo!
@@zeronos2844 pre ordered already. I was all over that :)
@@MetalVII and this me who was still reeling from Cybertron Metroplex suddenly goes to preorder again
I jsut got mine pre-ordered today, finally came in stock on Amazon for MSRP. I was already excited, btu seeing this review made my excitement go from standard to as hyped as I am for my 3P windblade coming out later this month. I can't wait until it coems in and then we get the rest of the team.
Great video! I'll definitely be getting this figure and the entire set of stunticons.
I'm just waiting for him to show up on amazon
Then I'm preordering right away
3:15 "No hollowness on this guy at all."
Bruh you *just* showed us a hole right behind the cab, RIGHT THERE.
Looks great. I wish he had the missile cabinets on his shoulders but that's just my own personal taste.
MotorMaster is one of my favorites, can't wait to get it and the rest of the Stunticons
Man this figure looks badass i'm glad i pre ordered it
There was that time when I tried to eat a whole oxo cube. It was a bit gritty but the flavour didn't leave me wanting.
A fantastic figure in hand
Also why are you judging these issues off of one copy
@@tfsomegaguy6203 who said i was judging only on one copy?
Thanks for the great video, I was struggling to get my new Motormaster transformed into Menasor!
That torso transformation is easily one of the cleanest I've ever seen
I agree but some people might want motor master on his own with his trailer
@@bogus256 I can understand that. But I still think it would be cool. Maybe like a build a figure type thing?
The only part I don't really like about this Menaceor figure is the leg components are on the back
To be fair it is G1 accurate but they should’ve at least allowed the option
I think we can turn his legs around so the cars will be facing forward so to better match his G1 toy, but will rob him of his knee articulation. Well they chose to go with animation accuracy here
This is a massive upgrade and glade the same combiner ports are included
While I think this motormaster is MILES better than combiner wars, I still wish he could still use combiner wars arms. Seeing him being able to use combiner wars legs just makes me wanna see him have access to both.
Same I was hoping I could mix and match parts
I definitely see the way the front of the trailer comes off, opens up an easy way to extend its length with an upgrade kit
i cant wait for him to come out!!!
Hey primevsprime you ever gonna do a collection review showing how you display all your transformers?
you have so many i wanna see your massive collection all together.
Great review! They both look so awesome!
I'm so excited for this figure and great video
This guy brought up a LOT of stuff about "this isn't animation accurate"
To me, it envokes the feeling of the character and that's the mark of a good transformer.
By making Silverbolt a Drone-like jet that nestles into a larger craft like Starsaber...
fuck no
This is amazing I can’t wait for the new transformers legacy commander class motor master/ menisor to come out in fall 2022
This makes me wish for a legacy Brutus
Great review! It’s an incredible release they’ve done a great job! I just wish on the legs the vehicles were at the front and not the rear of the leg!
I think we can turn his legs around so the cars will be facing forward so to better match his G1 toy, but will rob him of his knee articulation. Well they chose to go with animation accuracy here
This guy comes out early here in Australia in just a few days, can’t wait to get him
Great Review. Definitely a Must Buy for me
Hopefully we get Superion or Bruticus in the next toyline.
This is the best M.M. Version I have ever seen so far 👍
Legacy is moving on up. This thing is bad man the way drag race break, apart like that to combine the right arm and the way the body becomes the torso, the head everything this thing is bad man they need to do superior like this it would be epic to see these two in battle Formation
